Make a meaningful impact while gaining international experience with Connect-123’s Human Rights internship program. With placements available in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Dublin, and Sydney, you’ll have the chance to contribute to organizations working on some of today’s most pressing human rights challenges. Our network includes watchdog groups, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, lobby groups, and think tanks. Depending on your placement, you may help develop educational workshops for immigrants, conduct peer education training, monitor and evaluate community-based initiatives, research political or gender rights issues, or contribute to reports on human trafficking, child labor, and other critical topics. Each internship is tailored to your background and interests, giving you the opportunity to build practical skills, expand your global network, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference. With flexible start dates and customizable program lengths, your life-changing global internship begins on your schedule.

This program leverages your creative and digital skills to help local organizations improve their online presence and charitable initiatives. Together with other volunteers, you can make a significant impact by supporting various causes, including animal shelters. What to expect: • Use your technical skills and expertise to support important local causes. • Contribute to initiatives on animal shelters, refugees, community support, and environmental awareness. Daily tasks: • Conduct website maintenance and webpage building, applying content and media that support charitable initiatives. • Provide marketing materials for social media, flyers, print ads, website content, or logos. • Create promotional videos, photo/video documentation during on-site projects, and images for social media. • Develop content that extends the NGO’s reach and increases online awareness. Volunteers must bring their own laptops, design software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent), and/or camera equipment.

This all-in-one semester begins with one month traveling Spain by train, followed by two months in Barcelona where you choose your pathway. You’ll build soft skills (communication, confidence, problem-solving), hard skills (Spanish, digital tools, cooking), and leadership abilities focused on positive impact. Choose one of three pathways: - The Internship Pathway offers full-time hands-on experience, real projects, and strong hours for future credit or professional goals. - The Entrepreneurship Pathway combines a part-time internship with entrepreneurship labs, mentorship, and Spanish classes, ending in a Shark Tank–style pitch. - The Special Interest Pathway lets you blend part-time internship, volunteering, and classes, or focus fully on volunteering plus Spanish or creative electives.
