We are looking for passionate graduates, who are keen to learn about global challenges, work with youth and define their own purpose. After an initial period of training, you will be placed in one of our overseas hubs as a Group Mentor and Project Implementor, you will be supporting our in-country team through coordinating group projects and supporting our project participants on their journey to becoming global citizens. Your days will be filled with exciting challenges and fulfilling experiences, including: 1. Coordinating and delivering impactful project activities with our local partners. 2. Embark on a leadership role as you guide your group of project participants through immersive and exciting cultural activities. 3. The basic need for a children's development program stems from the following facts about Nepal. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with approximately 25% of its population living below the poverty line. Therefore, the fundamental rights of many community children are often not met. Most children in rural communities aged 3 to 5 lack access to quality education. Approximately 5% of children never attend school. The children who attend school often drop out before completing high school. Only 46.2% of children complete their high school education. They instead help at home, support household chores, and babysit while their parents work on the farm. 37.4% of children aged 5 to 17 are involved in agricultural labor, with a significant proportion working on their family farms. 26.3% of children aged 10 to 18 are married or in a union with their partner. So, the children’s development is not well in place.

Get involved in the Woman Empowerment Project offered by Friends for Asia, and get the chance to make a real difference in the lives of women Nepal, a beautiful but impoverished country. Years of insurgency and political uncertainty have caused the country to fall behind many of its neighbors when it comes to human rights. An uneasy peace now exists, but little has been done at government level to help the women of Nepal. This is where Friends for Asia comes in. Our volunteers work with disadvantaged women in a number of centers to educate, assist and help them lead their lives with dignity in a male-dominated society. Volunteering in Nepal - A Day in the Life Our Woman Empowerment Project allows our Nepal volunteers to really get to the heart of Nepal life. Volunteers will work closely with disadvantaged women to educate them and give them a new perspective on life. This can be done throughout the day through basic interaction and activities. Volunteers will also schedule classes in subjects that help the women help themselves, such as English, computer skills, office skills and other skills that will aid them in the path to employment or further education.

Whether you're building an e-lab in Kenya, improving school facilities in Costa Rica and the Philippines, expanding learning space in Peru, supporting women’s empowerment in Nepal, or constructing homes in Sri Lanka, your contribution will help drive long-term change. Each trip includes accommodations, meals, in-country transportation, program costs, and eligibility for a charity tax receipt. No special skills are required—just a willingness to help and a sense of adventure. In this project, we are helping the forest community and the Senegal village of Kavre district near Banepa. After the earthquake, a lot of buildings were destroyed, and the local population needs help in rebuilding the village. We'll be assisting in developing effective agricultural methods; we will do environmental awareness and forest conservation work; we'll work together with local people to build a multi-purpose community house; we will be involved in construction work. The community house will also serve as a shelter in emergencies, a youth club, and a public medical exam room. We'll build an area for seniors, a garden near the house, and a rooftop for the meeting room. Other construction projects include making a water tank and rebuilding the Hindu temple. We will also build a much-needed wall around the community school and repair wood shelters for the village. In the nearby forest, we will build a fire line together with the local people. We'll prepare and perform plays aimed at raising awareness on environmental issues, hygiene, and emergency procedures during earthquakes. We'll also work with local women to empower and prepare them for the workforce.
