Join us in Goa for a meaningful volunteer experience! Participants on this program will be involved in two programs, which includes teaching children from lower-income areas. They can then choose their second project placement. Volunteers can choose to assist in a women's shelter, a senior home, an animal rescue center, a community construction program, or at a secondary teaching program in a village. No matter the placement, each volunteer can contribute to the community of Goa in a large way. The Banyan Impact Fellowship (formerly AIF William J. Clinton Fellowship) is a fully funded 10-months program in India. By facilitating exchange and collaboration between young professionals from India and the U.S., the program aims to shape the next generation of leaders committed to positive and sustainable change and creating a lasting US-India relationship. Fellows serve with civil society organizations in various thematic areas including environment protection, climate justice, public health, education, livelihoods, arts, culture, and more. Fellows receive a stipend, health insurance, language training, mentoring, professional development, international networking and career opportunities. Length: 4-6 months | Intakes: January 2026 Join the Global Leadership Programme, designed to provide you with hands-on experience supporting the work of an international development charity. We are looking for passionate graduates, who are keen to learn about global challenges, work with youth and define their own purpose. After an initial period of training, you will be placed in one of our overseas hubs as a Group Mentor and Project Implementor, you will be supporting our in-country team through coordinating group projects and supporting our project participants on their journey to becoming global citizens. Your days will be filled with exciting challenges and fulfilling experiences, including: 1. Coordinating and delivering impactful project activities with our local partners. 2. Embark on a leadership role as you guide your group of project participants through immersive and exciting cultural activities. 3. Engage your group in reflective discussions and interactive sessions to foster personal growth. 4. Reporting on the progress and success of all international project participants and community development project delivery activities.

In Rajasthan, girls from poor families often don't attend school. They have to help with housework, engage in labor, or assist their mothers with tending to their younger siblings. This is typically the case in communities far from the school, which would take some time to reach, thus forcing them to choose family duties instead. To cater to these less fortunate girls, a local NGO offers free education and vocational training to women and girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. The NGO is located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan's second-largest city, in the village of Setrawa in the Thar desert, some 100 km away. It primarily promotes women's empowerment, including educating children and women. At several empowerment centers in Jodhpur, girls and women aged 10 to 30 are taught reading and writing (Hindi and English), the basics of Mathematics, personality development, team building, and vocational skills such as sewing and embroidery.

We are seeking volunteers to teach English in remote village schools in Sikkim, a small Indian state renowned for its majestic natural beauty. It is where you can find Kanchenjunga, India’s highest mountain and the world’s third-highest. HELP is a registered British charity with a specific focus on enhancing educational opportunities in impoverished communities in Nepal and the Indian Himalayas. We achieve this by sponsoring young people, donating funds to schools, and placing skilled volunteers within these schools. We are not a travel agency. Our volunteer programme is not just an add-on to a package holiday. If you have no experience or qualifications, we can direct you to relevant online courses that can help you develop your skills. We will also provide you with TEFL materials to help you cope with the first weeks of teaching. However, we cannot provide you with the personal qualities that will enable you to thrive outside your comfort zone. These jobs are challenging, life-enhancing, and best suited to mature people.

R.O.S.E. (Rural Organization for Social Elevation) offers a meaningful opportunity to engage in responsible tourism while supporting sustainable development. This program allows volunteers to contribute to local communities while enjoying the pristine beauty of India. Volunteers, students, solo travelers, and senior citizens participate in hands-on initiatives to improve rural livelihoods, education, and public health. Participants can engage in community-driven projects, including health awareness, women’s empowerment, and education programs for underprivileged children. Volunteers assist with workshops, skill development sessions, and agricultural activities while living among local families. This initiative provides a life-changing experience, fostering cultural exchange and meaningful connections. Since 1988, R.O.S.E. has hosted participants from 32 countries, all working toward sustainable progress in rural India.

On this program you will teach at a local kindergarten in the morning, before heading back to the centre for lunch and then in the afternoons you will volunteer on the slum outreach project. This kindergarten is run by a local Goan family and provides education for cheerful and energetic children from underprivileged families who cannot afford regular kindergarten fees or otherwise might not attend school. You will have ample opportunities to engage in creative teaching and learn teaching skills from experienced local staff. This project also offers opportunities for aspiring kindergarten teachers. You can teach a variety of subjects to the children, including English, music, arts and crafts, and sports. The Slum Outreach project is primarily for children aged 4-14 years from migrant families living in slums on the outskirts of the city. You will prepare lessons in the morning for about 2 hours. Interact with the children through games and activities to teach them and help them understand the importance of education and developing skills beyond just English. You may join another program in the morning if you wish, as we require you to participate for longer.

Volunteer in India's vibrant Pink City, Jaipur, and support critical community initiatives helping marginalized women and children affected by rapid urban growth. Choose your area of focus (2-12 weeks): Care: childcare, health, and special needs support Education: teaching English, Math, and computer skills, with a focus on adolescent girls Empowerment: workshops and training for women's self-sufficiency and rights Experience authentic immersion living with a local English-speaking host family (meals included). Support services include airport pick-up and an on-site coordinator. Volunteers can explore the Taj Mahal, Pushkar, and Ranthambhore on optional weekend excursions.

Participate in Globe Aware's India program and provide much-needed assistance in building and renovating important facilities for different age groups. Plus, have the opportunity to interact with the local children by teaching basic courses, games, sports, and arts and crafts. Projects are currently split into small and big based on the number of volunteers required. These may be chosen based on the community’s immediate needs. For solo, small group, or family volunteers: - HIV/AIDS care home for children - Special needs center for adults and kids - Government schools and daycare centers For big groups, with more than 20 volunteers - Sensory garden for a special needs school - Rural village water harvesting development - Low-cost, eco-friendly house development Accommodation options include one of Jaipur's several modest hotels, which all have electricity, running hot water, and western-style toilets. While these aren't "luxurious" accommodations, you will find that these are more than enough to ensure a comfortable experience. You can also choose to live with an Indian family in a homestay.

Begin your journey in Kolkata, where you will serve underprivileged children, special-needs students, and impoverished communities. Then, travel to Sikkim, a Himalayan state renowned for its monasteries, rich culture, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Volunteers support women and youth in handicrafts, English, and digital skills, and engage with children and local communities in need. The program also includes eco-tourism activities, such as monastery visits, heritage tours, and trekking through valleys and forests. A highlight is the chance to learn meditation directly from Buddhist Masters in mountain monasteries, combining service with self-discovery. Programs run for 7, 14, or 21 days at $700–$1,500, including food, lodging, transport, eco-tours, and orientation. Volunteers contribute about 4–5 hours/day, with flexible time for reflection, rest, and exploration. Offered by Noah’s Ark of Calcutta and Sinai Enterprise, this program blends social service, spirituality, and eco-tourism into one transformative experience.

We encourage individuals to apply as volunteers and make a meaningful contribution to international youth exchange and community development through medium and long-term placements ranging from 4 to 24 weeks. These placements involve working in ongoing local humanitarian projects located in rural or semi-urban areas. They provide an excellent opportunity to gain a deep understanding of grassroots situations and collaborate with marginalized communities. The pace of work in these placements is slower, which presents a constant challenge in managing volunteer expectations. It's important to recognize that significant global change cannot be achieved in such a short period. Nevertheless, the placement offers a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment by making a tangible impact on a cause with visible results. We offer flexibility for volunteers to join our programs, but in order to ensure effective coordination of project activities, we request volunteers to join on the first Monday of each month. Upon arrival, an initial orientation will be provided at the RUCHI office, where the desired project outcomes, as well as the volunteer's role and responsibilities, will be shared.
