My host organization was very good and everyone in there did their job well. Volunteering in India has definitely changed me. I think I'm more open to and more grateful for the unlimited amount of opportunities I have. The best part would be the connection I made with the children.

Volunteering in India is going very well

Volunteering in India is going very well. I enjoy the work and the people are wonderful. I taught English and math to 6 - 12 year old children and in the afternoons I taught women basic skills to become more independent. I really enjoyed being on the ground and actually working with the children and women, teaching them and helping then in any way possible. The people were wonderful, the project was great and the placement was awesome.I feel like I contributed immensely to my organization and project. It also gave my a lot of time to think about my future plans and I am now considering more volunteer abroad experiences to help people. This is what I am passionate about and I love the work.

Learned to be completely independent

Volunteering allows me to see the world of poverty and realize how happy people are with much less than a shirt on his/ her back and rice to eat. The people were so loving and excited to talk and interact. I also learned about politics and the ever- destructive government there and how it plays a huge role on the citizens and how they live. I learned to be completely independent knowing that no one knew where I was- I had to fend for myself and I gained tremendously from that.

I stayed with a very nice host family for three weeks and it was the best way to learn about their culture. Every day I went to the project where woman and children taught me very important thinks about the life just smiling, dancing and learning thinks about my culture. Everything was amazing.
