Classroom Assistant at Niños de Guatemala

Do you want to be part of a major process of social change in Guatemala? If so, this is the perfect place for you. At Niños de Guatemala, we want to generate a social impact through education—the best tool for every child's future. That is why we invite you to be part of this fight against poverty in our communities through our Paid Volunteering Program as a Classroom Assistant. A Classroom Assistant will support the teacher at all times with whatever is needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising the children in the teacher's absence. You will also, at times, become an integral member of the class to connect with the students and become that agent of change in their mindset. As an agent of change, you will become an important reference for each of the children in the schools. They will make this volunteering experience unique, and you, through your contribution and volunteer work, will provide them with an opportunity for change and future prosperity. We are Niños de Guatemala, changing lives through education.

Volunteer in Antigua, Guatemala

Volunteer in Guatemala – Travel with Purpose Looking for a meaningful way to explore Guatemala? Volunteering is a great way to give back, gain experience, and immerse yourself in local life—all while having an unforgettable adventure. We work with amazing community projects around Antigua, and they’re always happy to welcome motivated volunteers. You can help out with activities such as teaching children, supporting local health clinics, working with animals, assisting in homes for the elderly, or even engaging in hands-on work like construction or carpentry training for local youth. Most placements ask for at least 2 weeks, and since most projects don’t speak English, you’ll need a basic level of Spanish to get started. (No worries—we can help you prep with online Spanish lessons before you arrive!) Volunteering here isn’t just about helping others—it’s a chance to grow, learn, and create real connections. If you're up for a challenge and ready to make a meaningful impact, Guatemala is waiting.

The Maximo staff was great for every question that I had during my stay in Peru. Specifically Michael, Reese and Nina were there through every step of the way and continued routine check ups on my project to ensure that the experience was as advertised.
