The island lies in the outer regions of the Mamanuca Islands, approximately an hour away via a fast ferry from the mainland. It is a volcanic island with a steep, grass-covered interior, rocky coastline, and long sandy beaches. The placement is centered around a local public school where approximately 100 students, from kindergarten to grade 6, come to learn each day.
