Arcos Learning Abroad offers year-round online learning options. Students may select from Spanish classes, Electives taught in Spanish, and Internships. All coursework is fully accredited and transcripted by the local university of record. Students may select from courses offered in Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain. The typical terms of enrollment are summer, winter break and semester. For those interested in a non-credit option, Arcos Online Learning also offers Spanish Conversation. Students can choose from workshops, group classes or individual classes. This online option is ideal for individuals wanting to maintain or improve their Spanish skills.

This online intensive Hebrew course at the University of Haifa International School is designed for students who want to immerse themselves in an intensive language acquisition experience that is personally enriching and academically demanding. Instruction will be offered at the beginners and intermediate levels. Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays for four academic hours per day. The course awards four academic credits. The course will be taught remotely through the Zoom online classroom system and held from 6pm and 9:30pm Israel time, or 11:00am to 2:30pm EDT and 8am to 11:30am PDT. Prior to joining the classes, students will be asked to download and answer the Hebrew Placement Test. Students who are not total beginners should fill out the placement exam to the best of their abilities without the use of aid and then stop once they cannot answer any questions. The course is open to all applicants above the age of 18. Medical forms for the application are not needed.

The CFHI Virtual Global Health elective offers inter-professional trainees a unique opportunity to build key Global Health competencies. Students will explore global and public health issues broadly, highlighting how health systems around the world deliver healthcare in a variety of environments, examining cultural interplays, developing agility for making healthcare decisions in diverse settings, and expanding self-awareness. Participants will learn how communities are addressing their most pressing health challenges, including chronic disease, maternal-child health, infectious disease, and reproductive health, all while gaining insights into the public health realities internationally, reverse innovation, and interplays of international development and health. This elective is intended to be a full-time, four-week commitment. The elective contains both live sessions with peers and international faculty members and self-paced readings, assignments, and group work. Participants will produce a final e-portfolio compiling all completed assignments and serving as a key component for successful elective completion.

Foundations in Sustainable Development is our flagship program. It provides those who would like to make a positive impact with an introduction into the “for good” sector. Participants are able to learn a little bit about the field as a whole and gain preliminary insight into a specific field. Two of the courses, the Careers in Sustainable Development course and Leading Teams for Emerging Leaders course, form the groundwork of the Foundations in Sustainable Development program. The American Councils are pleased to offer the Eurasian Regional Language Program (ERLP) coursework by way of distance learning. Students will attend daily remote language instruction, be paired with virtual conversation partners, and take part in a wide variety of virtual cultural activities. Languages offered include Dari, Farsi, Georgian, Pashto, Romanian, Tajiki, Ukrainian, and Uzbek. The academic program will feature daily online, synchronous, and asynchronous instruction that will focus on developing language skills in speaking, reading, listening, grammar, and writing. Participants will also complete regular assignments outside of class that expand upon the activities covered in online classes. The program offers a full-time track and a part-time track to accommodate a variety of schedules. Live instruction is approximately 12 academic hours per week for the full-time track and 6 academic hours per week for the part-time track. Class sizes range from two to six students depending on the language level. Additional academic hours per week will be delivered in an asynchronous (recorded) format.
