TEFLmasters 120 Hour TEFL

August 14, 2026by: Aaron Davies - United States

I finished the 120 Hour TEFL and had my certs apostilled after I found a job using one of their China job recruiter links. I don’t think they get any commissions for these as I dealt with a recruiter. The course, I thought it was great because they cover so many topics; the feedback is good especially on practice tasks; and staff responded to my email. Everything was very especially because I passed and squeezed everything from it like a job application and paperwork.

Value, content and communication all exceptional

Impressed! Not going to say it was perfect, as little is, but the longer course was really interesting and did the job well of bringing me from someone who knew nothing (literally) about ESL to feeling confident about what to do on day 1. Thanks!

All good

Everything went well with no surprises. You pay, get an account started, then you're free to learn. I watched quite a few lessons and have to disagree with a review I read of the course (unless they've changed the vidos) - there's no AI video voices...not that it would really have mattered to me, but AI did ironically bring it up to me as a potential negative. I did the 120-hour course rather than the longer one, so perhaps that's the culprit, but the 120 has real voices. The culture unit was interesting but I'd say they all taught me many new things, so I'm good with it all. I didn't get my own tutor, but two different tutors did respond to my questions pretty sharp. That's me. It's a good course.

Helpful staff

Things were like they promised when I message them - videos with human voice (good quality sound), videos of teaching, lots of text to read and buttons to click to keep me from being crazy and bored, and practice activities. The most boring thing is the grammar (which i know already from school of course) and the most interesting is the later units on skills, planning, etc. It's very cheap for the resources they give.

Strong content

I'm already a teacher but wanted to add English-based certs to my c.v. This program is strong, especially for the price. Here's what my main pros were: excellent communication from staff before I signed up and when I needed help with a small amendment of my cert number; thorough wording - really useful information that covers lots of pedagogy I was already familiar with plus lots of English-subject specifics; nicely formatted lessons that allow you to interact with the info so you don't get bored; video narration of all the text was a cute touch; videos of many classes were good as it let me see it's similar to regular teaching in some ways but nuanced and a bit simpler; detailed feedback on practice assessments; logically sequenced units with good impetus on differences between classroom and online teaching. I'd like to see a bit more feedback on the main quizzes, but I believe they can't give too much or else students could just click to get answers first time and then parrot. Still, there must be a way to balance. Like I said, the feedback on practice quizzes and scenario learning is very good, so maybe this is their work-around? Overall, I strongly recommend this course as it's in-depth and very good value.

Great course (120 hour)

I was asked by TEFLMasters to review the course and can share that it was as promised with videos and text that got me thinking and learning everything pretty deeply. There was definately more to the course than I thought there'd be so I guess that's a tick in the box for value. Seriously though, this is a pro course and has given me confidence to get into the circuit.

Very nice learning experience

It's a good course and I am proud that I finish it with time. I have learned many interesting things and feel confident in my English. I will use this for help me teach children more better in the academy. The price is good for what I learn.

All good

Budget course that punches above its weight! It felt professional from staff to material, but let's not forget that it's still a cheap course, so I'm not going to give it full marks. Some things could be improved but it was great nonetheless. Can recommend as they came through with their promises.

Professional course with patient tutors

I'm writing this partly out of guilt, but mostly because I think the course needs more positive exposure. Long story short, I lost my temper in an email for something that turned out to be my fault rather than teflm's. Staff calmly gave me the facts and didn't once make me feel blamed, even though it was blatantly my fault! The course is highly recommended due to how detailed they get with scenarios and feedback.

Good course but need live jobs

This is $49, so I think i can say it still is included as a cheap TEFL course. The learning it offers is very nice and pro, but for this price I expect live and updating jobs. Cheaper courses are there online. I want jobs for the price.

Asked to leave a review when I received my certificates

May 28, 2026by: Lucia G - United States

I think it shows accountability when a service or supplier openly asks for reviews, so I was extremely happy when in my certificate email, I saw a review request with a few links. The course and the company running it were phenomenal. I had a few questions about jobs and they answered them. I feel confident about starting a new position abroad after summer and have an interview already. I think for the price, this is great value, and I felt like they really wanted me to learn something rather than just to tick me through. There were over 1000 questions, many of which involved reading through different scenarios and making decisions, so it felt professional. The videos were helpful when I was tired, but I learned more from the scenarios and feedback, I think. Sorry, this is like a TEFL Masters thesis! It's definitely a very strong course, at least for beginners like me anyway!

Attentive staff who respond quickly and help with the apostille process

Firstly, the course was excellent and got me to where I hoped it would in terms of understanding and a job. I finished this a while back but have been uber busy arranging everything to get my visa stuff sorted out. The staff at TEFL masters were great in providing me with links to the service they use for apostilling, which you can do digitally amazingly! The course was professional and full of tips and the staff were always responsive. For what I paid, I'm still amazed with what I got.

Happy to leave a review

I actually finished the program at the end of last year, but they recently contacted me on a follow-up for a review, which I'm happy to do now. The program was detailed and went into a lot of different areas that have proved helpful to me now that I'm actually teaching. People are right when they say you don't really learn until you teach, but this gave me a good amount of confidence to get out and teach. Looking back, the course helped me most with its focus on planning and on being able to handle when things don't go as planned, ironically! The scenarios they put out for practicing were actually pretty realistic, though it's obviously a lot faster and real in the classroom. I used my certificate from the TEFL Masters to get my visa for China, so it's legit. From others I've spoken with here, it's only worthwhile to pay much more for a TEFL if you actually get some form of teaching experience with it: I was happy with what I learned from TTM and was really happy with what I paid for that learning.

Great communication from staff and a great course for properly learning rather than just clicking through

I was dubious about the price, but TEFLMasters is legit and it seems like they actually care about making students learn rather than just passing quickly, which is mostly refreshing because I did one of these years ago with global TESOL or something and I was able to just click through - and actually wanted to just click through - to get it done quickly. It wouldn't be possible to finish this in a day as they're pretty thorough with the learning procedure and ask a lot of CCQs and applied theory. It's hard not to be a bit dazzled by what you get for the price, but you soon get over it when you realise that means you need to work hard to get through it. That said, if you're a newb, that's a good thing - for someone with more experience you do learn new tips, but it'd be nice to have an abbreviated version of the text (as some questions ask specifically about it rather than all being generic stuff). The videos aren't AI, by the way - or at least the voice isn't AI, as the lad narrating occasionally makes a self-correction, etc. That's a huge bonus for a course but I'm not sure it's an essential. Just my PoV. Brilliant course and staff that get back to you quickly: those are my final two nuggets.

They asked for feedback. Here goes...

The TEFL Masters course is everything it promised to be: it's well-organised and it's clearly written by professionals, because there is just so much pedagogical knowledge. They have so many useful activities to make you really think about what you've read and listened to, and it gets your mind into how you might actually need to use the information. For me, this is where the course really matched its claims. I was expecting to just watch a few videos and read a pile of text, but they balance those things with using engaging assessments well. There are quite a few quiz questions on top of the situational tasks, so you have to either know the content well or have another page open with the course notes! I can't remember how many demo videos there are, but there are quite a few, and they're very good for seeing the concepts visually being done by people who make it look pretty easy (maybe too easy that it lures you into a false sense of security?!). While the course is excellent, I'd like to see a few improvements. First up, there needs to be a clearer overview of what each course gives you - there are quite a few course options, some with assignments, some with a practical (?), and it was a bit dense trying to find what I needed to know to make my decision. Customer service was very good, but having a chatbot or just a broader collection of questions in their faq would be much more convenient. Another thing is once you finish, they do have links for jobs and some resources, but these should be openly available or even provided at the end when you get your certificate. Really, for the $50 that you pay, these things are a bit like complaining about a dirty spoon when you're only eating a main course, but we all have expectations, and there were another few small things they can definitely improve on.

Really impressed with the tutor support

April 27, 2026by: Emma Yates - United Kingdom

I went with the slightly pricier course with practical assignments and am really glad I did just to have it on my certs, even though I think the other tasks in the main course are probably enough for most people. Tutors gave feedback within 24 hours as promised and always managed to give a nice balance of positives and improvement areas. Chatgpt listed their videos as AI narrated, but this must've changed since its last update, as he's definitely human! This was just excellent value all round and I'm naturally glad I chose it, though I'm also happy I finished it!

I really liked the most things to get me learning the TEFL

So much informations! The tutor I message with is so kind and informational that it made me feel confident. The lessons are not so easy but I can understand with a little translation and reading two times. The quiz help me learn. I am a satisfying customer! Thank you to the TEFL masters!

Simple process but very effective for learning everything - kudos!

I can't fault it (aside from the idea of AI videos, but they're free so I just ignored them). The course is layed out in a simple way with video, text, small quiz, more videos, and then some interactive tasks before a unit quiz. The text is very good quality and goes through everything from theory to how to use it. Of course, it is still theoretical until you actually practice it in the classroom, but I felt like the course did a really good job of making me think and imagine how it's going to be like. Let's see! Regardless, for the 50 bucks I paid, it was ridiculously good value. Super effective and cheap.

I paid $49 and am very happy with the quality of the course

March 08, 2026by: Alison Davidson - United Kingdom

I'll start by saying that I had no need to contact tutors during the course, so I have no information about the speed of their average responses, though I did receive my certificates in about an hour. The course was excellent. There was video on every unit (though don't expect moving text on a whiteboard - think more a talking head, though the subtitles are nice and large for following along) and the text was written in an engaging manner (sometimes quirky). I would go as far to say that I was engaged by much of it, but I can say I definitely learned alot even when parts were less engaging. The reviews (they call them flows, I believe) are likewise excellent for making you use the past material to come up with the solutions to teaching problems. Though some answers were more obvious than others, it was genuinely useful and a bit different from what I had expected for the price (positively).

Worth the hard work

For anyone looking for a reasonably priced TESOL course that actually trains you how to teach English, I absolutely recommend the TEFLmasters. These guys have an interesting way of training by adding questions into their texts and videos in a sort of matter of fact way and then reviewing it with automatic quizzes that run through a mock class. It worked well for me, though I'd love to see the videos and text cut into smaller bitesize chunks. Maybe that's just not how it's done. Anyway, everything aside from that suited my needs, so thumbs up from me.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the course cost in full?

Currently, the full 120-hour TEFL-TESOL course is $49 including all course materials (video is available for all text material) and self-printable digital certification with QR-code verification.

How long will the course take to complete?

It is rated at 120 hours, but some students may be able to complete it in less time. If doing all activities and lessons as designed and specified, it will take roughly 120 hours for the average student. Some students are able to complete it full time in just one week, though this is abnormally fast - most take 3-6 weeks.

Is your course internationally accredited?

Yes. We have provider accreditation from The CPD Group and course accreditation by OTCAC. We are also a registered learning provider with the UK government.

Can your TEFL certificate be notarised and apostilled?

Yes. You can have our certificate notarised in the UK and then apply an e-apostille or physical paper apostille on it. We have a special agreement with Apostille.org.uk for a discounted service for our trainees.

What's the catch? How is this only $49?

We are teachers, experts in TEFL, and not a large organisation: our overheads are fairly low and we believe in affordable education. Since we were only established in 2020, we also have to keep prices low to compete with older TEFL course providers.
