Marine Science Internships in Mexico

Joining the marine conservation internship in Mexico was one of the best things I've ever done! The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about conservation and the ocean and this really shines through everyday. The other volunteers were so amazing and I've made friends for life! It has been a very healing journey to come here and get back in touch with nature, as well as advancing my diving skills up to rescue level. Highlights have definitely been the turtle walk, cenote dive and my first ever deep dive at the wreck! I'm gutted to be leaving but so happy for the beautiful experience. One thing I will say is be prepared to live a basic lifestyle with much lower levels of luxury and hygiene standards you are used to! There will be cockroaches, cold showers and a million mosquitos! But it's all part of the story!

Great experience getting to improve my scientific diving during my internship in Mexico with GVI. I learned so much about coral reefs and marine conservation. Working with IMIPAS in their coral lab was a highlight!
