The best way to grow your skills beyond a textbook or classroom!
August 12, 2026by: Suskia TreleavenThe Marketing & Communications internship in Sydney gave me the real life experience which I can tie closely to my studies, and this has helped me understand different topics more easily. The internship also gave me the practical experience I needed to help boost my CV (resume) for my later career, and better prepare me for my future. I enjoyed meeting many people from different cultures a lot. My host family accommodation was amazing; I couldn’t have asked for better.
I left Valencia feeling more motivated
July 25, 2026by: Ella MeekerProgram: Affordable Law & Human Rights Support Internships Abroad
This experience gave me a greater understanding of how organisations can work across borders to support communities. One of the most meaningful parts of my internship was learning about healthcare initiatives supporting refugee communities and international partnerships providing medical care to people affected by conflict and displacement. Seeing how resources can be used to improve the lives of both citizens and non-citizens showed me the impact that advocacy, collaboration, and compassion can have. I left Valencia feeling more motivated to pursue a career where I can contribute to positive change.
Fostered Professional Growth and Confirmed a Passion for International Marketing with an internship in Tokyo
June 01, 2026by: Erica Refugio MartinezMy Marketing & Communications internship in Tokyo (Japan) was one of my most rewarding experiences for my professional and academic journey. What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to fully immerse myself in a new culture that I became deeply fond of while working alongside professionals who supported me in my career aspirations by giving me the independence and challenge to develop and lead work initiatives. This experience also allowed me to observe Japanese culture and develop an appreciation and understanding for their work ethic and respect that I will continue to implement in my future projects and in my personal life. Most importantly, this internship helped me confirm my love for traveling and my future career in international marketing.
Amazing experience in Cusco!
May 29, 2026by: David EsquerI'm a current intern placed in Cusco, Peru through IVHQ, doing marketing and communications with a local organization. The process from application to arrival was clear and well organized, and the support has been genuinely responsive. When I've reached out, I've had the best experience with REAL people replying fast and actually being helpful. The placement itself has been the highlight: meaningful work, a great host organization, and an experience that's pushed my Spanish from conversational to fluent. If you're a student considering an internship abroad in Latin America, this is a legitimate and well run way to do it.
Fostered invaluable personal & professional growth while solidifying my passion via an internship
May 27, 2026by: Mialisoa RandriaProgram: Affordable Law & Human Rights Support Internships Abroad
What I enjoyed most about the Human Rights & NGO Support internship in South Africa was the people and the overall experience of being in a new environment. I appreciated working with supportive colleagues and being around others from different backgrounds, which made the experience more meaningful. This internship helped me grow personally by making me more open-minded and independent. Professionally, I gained experience in communication, teamwork, and working on real projects. The internship also helped confirm my interest in international development and gave me a better understanding of how the field works.
I am genuinely grateful that I took the leap despite my initial hesitation, because it became one of the most impactful and transformative experiences of my life so far.
May 08, 2026by: Casey Ann DeanI truly wish I had spent the full 12 weeks in Ireland rather than only four. However, within that short time, I tried to fully immerse myself into the experience as much as possible. One of the things I appreciated most was that my internship was genuinely hands-on rather than simply shadowing someone the entire time. I was trusted with real responsibilities, projects, and problem-solving opportunities that allowed me to grow professionally and personally in ways I honestly did not expect. Before arriving, I had fears and uncertainties about whether I would be capable enough, experienced enough, or even if my age would affect how I fit into the program. Those fears quickly faded once I became immersed in the experience itself. This internship challenged me to adapt to unfamiliar environments, problem-solve independently, communicate within a new culture, and gain confidence in my own abilities. I was able to work on projects involving social media, marketing strategy, Google Ads troubleshooting, tourism promotion, and organizational systems while also learning more about Irish culture, history, and daily life. Personally, the experience had an even greater impact on me than I expected. Living abroad helped me become more independent, adaptable, confident, and willing to step outside of my comfort zone. It also deeply inspired me creatively as a writer and future author by exposing me to new places, stories, perspectives, and experiences. I am incredibly grateful that I took the leap and participated in the program despite my initial fears and uncertainties. It became one of the most impactful experiences of my life so far. If I were to offer one area of constructive feedback, it would be encouraging more visible student testimonials, experiences, and promotional content surrounding the program itself. Before applying, it was sometimes difficult to find detailed firsthand experiences or examples from previous participants, which initially made the program feel harder to fully research and trust from the outside looking in. Because of that, I think encouraging more students to share their internship experiences publicly through testimonials, videos, social media content, or alumni stories could greatly help future participants feel more confident and reassured during the decision-making process. Now having completed the program myself, I absolutely would recommend it to others and plan to share my own experience as well. I am genuinely grateful that I took the leap despite my initial hesitation, because it became one of the most impactful and transformative experiences of my life so far.
Overall, great experience
April 13, 2026by: Annika PrestengOverall great experience. The local team was friendly and I had a good experience at my work placement, too. I appreciated the perspective from living in another culture. I grew in caring about the people behind my design work. Being intentional about the messages I communicate and the people I reach is something I will take that back to my future career.

Intern Abroad HQ delivered an amazing internship experience
August 25, 2025by: Fouzia MalikProgram: Affordable Law & Human Rights Support Internships Abroad
InternHQ delivered an amazing internship experience, combining real-world professional development with exceptional support throughout. From the beginning onboarding procedure to the conclusion of my placement, everything was handled with care and quickness. The team was communicative and responsive, ensuring that I was matched with a placement that suited my interests and ambitions. Once in New York, I felt supported and ready to tackle both the workplace and the city itself. The placement was important, and I was assigned responsibilities that allowed me to truly contribute and learn—rather than merely observe. A special thank you to Marc, whose guidance and support were invaluable during my internship. His professionalism, support, and response helped me feel grounded and confident throughout the process. InternHQ always made me feel like they were genuinely interested in my experience. Their team was responsive, thoughtful, and clearly committed to each intern's success. I would highly suggest this program to anyone searching for a meaningful and respected internship abroad.
This internship has been an essential component of my academic and professional journey
August 13, 2025by: Farah HussainFrom the beginning of my internship, I was given all the details and information I needed to ensure I was fit for this internship and confident throughout. I was given help as and when needed by Veronica from the smallest details to connecting me with other students. Travelling to the Middle East was an entirely new and transformative experience for me. Having never travelled alone, this represented a significant step in my personal development. The most valuable aspect of my internship was the opportunity to engage with people across Amman. Another unforgettable moment was visiting Petra, one of the wonders of the world. The breathtaking views and historical magnificence and I had never seen anything like this before. One of the most significant skills I developed was communication. Prior to this internship, I felt hesitant about interacting with new people and sharing accommodation with strangers. However, as the weeks progressed, these concerns transformed into strengths, and I built numerous friendships that have lasted beyond my return. At my placement I gained substantial practical knowledge and skills crucial to my career path. The work environment was dynamic and motivating, filled with highly skilled professionals from whom I learned a great deal. I encountered several challenges, particularly at the beginning, including feelings of homesickness and anxiety about living with unfamiliar people. However, through open communication and building relationships, I gradually became more comfortable and confident. Overall, this internship has been an essential component of my academic and professional journey. It has equipped me with invaluable knowledge, practical skills, and personal growth that I am confident will benefit me as I continue to build my career and navigate future challenges.
This was instrumental in my personal growth but also my professional development.
August 02, 2025by: Jennika LubwamaProgram: Affordable Law & Human Rights Support Internships Abroad
I had a fantastic month in Jordan filled with culturally rich experiences. I was able to meet friendly people, eat amazing food and see beautiful historical sites. Most of my time was spent at my Internship at a women’s empowerment non-profit organisation. They had a multitude of projects targeting marginalised groups in society. I specifically worked on programme meant to equip young orphaned girls with productive skills to stimulate sustainable career paths as well as using brain health exercises to promote positive self esteem’s and self images. Through supporting this project I was able to meet people from all walks of life and all different motivations which help to grow my culture competence amongst other things. I was able to see the practical work that human rights NGO’s do in an international context. This was instrumental in my personal growth but also my professional development as I was able to get an adept first hand experience in my future career path.
Internship and Study Experience in the Middle East
February 18, 2025by: Gabriela Martinez Nunez - United StatesProgram: SIT Study Abroad: Jordan: Counseling & Humanitarian Action
My time abroad was truly an unforgettable experience, both academically and personally. Dr. Ashraf was an academic guide and professor who made learning enjoyable and manageable. His approach to coursework was well-balanced, ensuring we had time to for our personal and social life while still excelling in our studies. He encouraged us to stay engaged and participate throughout the classes. He added basic Arabic lessons and explained the local customs. Dr. Ashraf and Farah are incredibly caring and approachable individuals. I always felt comfortable reaching out to them for support, and I’m truly grateful for their kindness. Living with my host family was another unforgettable part of the experience. They welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home from day one. My host mom, in particular, was exceptionally kind and took the time to teach me Arabic, which was incredibly helpful. My host siblings were kind and energetic. I also had the opportunity to make some great friends, and we shared many memorable moments together. As part of my internship, I gained hands-on experience in applying psychological principles to real-life crisis situations. The training I received allowed me to work with different mental health issues and broadened my understanding of the field. I would definitely recommend this experience.
Jordan has a portion of my heart
February 09, 2025by: Megan Gentry - United StatesProgram: SIT Study Abroad: Jordan: Counseling & Humanitarian Action
I absolutely loved my time in Jordan and my experience with SIT. The program director is one of the most accomplished and wise people I have ever met. He was a pleasure to work with. I was able to intern with IFH, an organization that helps refugee families with health services of all kinds. I learned a bit of arabic. I saw many different historical and natural sites and rode a camel. I also integrated myself into the culture and community every day. I stayed with a host family, who helped me learn the local ways in Amman, as well as went to festivals, explored town and many coffee shops, bought from local vendors, joined a running club, met international students, played pickleball, and attended multiple worship services. Perhaps my favorite part of this study abroad was learning about different cultures and religions. I had a lovely view into the Muslim faith and learned the Arab history of the middle east area in a new way. I grew as an individual and as a citizen of earth and of the United States. I am forever grateful for the people I acquainted and the things I experienced.

Interning in the Middle East
January 30, 2025by: Alexandria Williams - United StatesProgram: SIT Study Abroad: Jordan: Counseling & Humanitarian Action
I found this study abroad program to be an invaluable experience that I can carry over to both my academic and professional endeavors. It also reinforced my values of inclusivity and compassion, encouraging me to explore more into humanitarian action as a field and even intern with other non-profit organizations in the future. Our academic advisor, Dr. Ashraf Alqudah, was an amazing mentor; very knowledgeable, accommodating, and kind. Amman as a city was also such a cool experience. It was my first time in the region so I loved becoming familiar with the local customs and people. One thing that I think could have been better though was the internship placement. Many of my peers had great placements, but for me personally I wish it was more structured and that there was a translator since many of the staff only spoke Arabic.
