1 Year Internships in Japan

Honestly probably one of my favourite summers so far - even despite having a job! I remember reading reviews, wondering if the reviews were legit, if I'd find a company that was a good fit for me, and if it was even worth the amount of money if I wasn't going to be making any. It's true, you probably won't earn any money due to the traveler's visa, but I assure you it's 100% worth it. I think this experience is perfect for people trying to grow their CV. I didn't have much experience on mine before coming, but even despite that, I was given two companies to choose from! If you're nervous about the whole "be flexible with your choices" thing, I can understand that. I was the same. I was nervous that my choices wouldn't be interesting enough to warrant coming to Japan, but I've learnt so much through my company, and about work-life in general. I would do it all over again! Beyond Academy coordinators are super good at making sure you're settling in with your company and with the events that are set up for you. If you have any issues while you're in your chosen country, at no point are you stranded and alone. You will always have someone to talk to about changing something at work, and if it absolutely necessary, they will reach out for you. Most events are covered by BA while you're there, and the ones that aren't are usually spontaneous lunches or shopping. You get to go to all the must-go places, like in Japan we went to see Fuji, teamlabs and several other tourist places you'd have to wait ages to get a ticket for. You can even request events! Given that its within the time frame and budget, BA will try their hardest to get it done! As for other interns, I've met people i never would have met without doing this experience, and even some of my flat mates who aren't part of the program will be life-long friends when I go back. There is at minimum, one event per week and most weeks have two or more, so you can socialize as much and as little as you want! However I highly recommend going to all the events you can as they often run longer than planned as we have so much fun :D I'm honestly so sad my two months are ending, as I will miss all the people I've met here, the great food and great experiences! This program is perfect for people trying to breach the working world, make some memories and practice japanese! You get a lot of support, a lot of events set up for you and compared to other programs, it is a lot more cost-effective - especially if you opt for having accommodation included. Seriously, take the leap of faith, you won't regret it!

My internship in Tokyo was an amazing experience, both professionally and personally. I had the opportunity to work in an international environment with French and Japanese colleagues, which helped me improve my communication skills and learn how to adapt to different cultures and ways of working. During my internship, I worked mainly on business development and marketing activities, including market and competitor research and supporting projects related to potential clients and business opportunities. This allowed me to develop my critical thinking, research and professional communication skills while gaining practical experience in an international business environment. Living in Tokyo for two months was also an incredible opportunity. I was able to discover Japanese culture, travel around Japan and become much more independent and confident. It was sometimes challenging to adapt to such a different environment, but that was also one of the most valuable parts of the experience. Overall, I am very grateful for this opportunity and I would definitely recommend an internship abroad in Tokyo to anyone who wants to grow professionally, experience a completely different culture and step outside their comfort zone.

I undertook an Internship here, with this Company in 2024 for 2 Months! This Internship was great for my personal growth and career growth. There are the sub points : 1. Location : Its Location in Minato City, near Shibuya, ensured that I experienced the traditional Japanese Work Life Structure, and surrounded myself with other Hard working Japanese and Foreign People. 2. The Supervisor : The Supervisor was super Patient, very friendly, and very willing to support me by explaining new concepts and style of working. I definitely learnt a lot! The supervisor, Thom, genuinely aims to help the students and people who work with and under him, by offering IMMENSE Network Opprunities and he allows and encourages you to work on different projects and play to your strengths. 3. The Support that they provided in terms of Living, Visa, and Daily/ Emergency Support, was very helpful. Since, they have some experience working with students and foreigners , they are very comfortable with the problems the foreigners may have! I definitely recommend, this Internship Experience, here. Definitely worth the time and cost!

I had a great experience during my internship. Everyone was very welcoming and supportive. I learned a lot through my time here and really appreciated the opportunity to gain a valuable experience in a completely new country.

This was an amazing time. I met the best people from all around the world. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and people I can visit in every country. The traveling I did around Japan was priceless.

This was a great experience. I met a lot of people and professionally developed myself. Being in a foreign country has enlightened me new perspectives. I am really disappointed to leave. I could not have asked for a better way for this to work.

I had such an amazing experience in Tokyo! I recommend it to everyone because you get to meet so many amazing people while learning skills you can later apply in the real world. This experience has expanded my global perspective and allowed me to work along individuals from different backgrounds.

I came over here not knowing what to expect but ended up having a great time working with a diverse group of people from all over the world! The Japanese program Director is wonderful, patient, and entertaining! We had the opportunity to go to different parts of Japan as well and we also worked with a variety of different types of clients, both run by Japanese business people and by foreign business people, a great experience for anyone who would like to learn more about working abroad in their intern programs

My experience in Thailand has been so fun! I got to see a lot of the major temples and sites that are a must visit. I made many friends with the other interns here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They helped me with any questions I had or anything in general. Overall my experience was amazing, 10/10 would recommend to anyone on the fence about it! I would even come back if I could!

Working under Japanese architectural standards refined my attention to detail, from millimetric plan specifications and flawless physical and digital models to rigorous material and color approvals. Also, the firm’s global environment, operating across Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin, significantly broadened my cross-cultural collaboration skills and global perspective. Beyond the studio, exploring Tokyo and four additional Japanese cities alongside international colleagues turned personal goals into lifelong memories.

I decided to do an internship abroad through Absolute internships with a question, "can I live and work in Japan comfortably?" and I can say with confidence that the experience they provided absolutely delivered a resounding "Yes!". I was delivered a painless process duing selection, and they found me the perfect company that I could use my skills as an english and history double major to make a positive impact that was appreciated by my host company (Yukari Japan Tour, a tour company specializing in sake brewery tours) and showed me how I can be valued for the work I can do. The expereicne was made fun and relaxed with fantastic coordinators that cared about the work they were doing with us and who seemed to genuinely want the best for us as both representatives of Absolute Internships and as peers. I made some wonderful memories with both my fellow interns and my host ccompany, and I will forever be grateful to Absolute Internships for fascilitating the making of them.

I had a great experience during my internship in Japan this summer. I got to work in an international office, meet people from different backgrounds, and experience working in Tokyo. During the internship, I worked on financial products, Excel workbooks, research, and legal documents. Everyone in the office was really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Overall, I learned a lot, became more comfortable working in both English and Japanese, and really enjoyed my time there. I’m very glad I had this opportunity!

From the moment I applied to after my internship ended, Beyond Academy was nothing short of professional and supportive. I had the best time at my internship and had many opportunities to explore Tokyo and other parts of Japan during my time there. I loved the social events and made many new friends that I hope to stay in contact with for years to come. My internship was also the perfect fit for me, and I did meaningful work and gained a lot from it. I definitely feel more confident going into my future career. I will cherish my time in Tokyo with Beyond for a lifetime.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Outside from working hard at my internship and gaining new skills in what I’m passionate in, I was also able to make great relationships with like minded people during my stay. I never had to worry about anything except whether I had enough time to do everything I had planned for a day! But I’ve made connections with others that I will come to cherish forever, and will keep me coming back someday.

This program was amazing! The interview process was smooth, and the support beyond academy offers was great! The coordinators in Tokyo were perfect and always kept things fun and stress free. I loved my time with Beyond! I got to meet so many amazing people, and absolutely loved all of the community events they hosted. I worked as a graphic designer/ marketer for a fashion technology company which is not what I’d usually choose but I ended loving it. I had a few issues with housing and the company that hosts it but the community coordinators were very helpful when it came to that. If you have the funds I would highly recommend this program!

I worked as a graphic design intern, for two months. Really enjoyed my time, the Tokyo coordinators really supported me and made me feel welcomed. My internship company were wonderful and I got to work on designing some characters for them. Would definitely recommend doing an internship with beyond academy.

I had such a good experience in Tokyo, beyond academy answered all my questions with speed and ease. Some people didn't have a great experience with their placement but I did. I loved it ! The events they coordinated were really helpful as we could explore more of the city.
