Intern in Tokyo with Absolute Internship

Working under Japanese architectural standards refined my attention to detail, from millimetric plan specifications and flawless physical and digital models to rigorous material and color approvals. Also, the firm’s global environment, operating across Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin, significantly broadened my cross-cultural collaboration skills and global perspective. Beyond the studio, exploring Tokyo and four additional Japanese cities alongside international colleagues turned personal goals into lifelong memories.

I decided to do an internship abroad through Absolute internships with a question, "can I live and work in Japan comfortably?" and I can say with confidence that the experience they provided absolutely delivered a resounding "Yes!". I was delivered a painless process duing selection, and they found me the perfect company that I could use my skills as an english and history double major to make a positive impact that was appreciated by my host company (Yukari Japan Tour, a tour company specializing in sake brewery tours) and showed me how I can be valued for the work I can do. The expereicne was made fun and relaxed with fantastic coordinators that cared about the work they were doing with us and who seemed to genuinely want the best for us as both representatives of Absolute Internships and as peers. I made some wonderful memories with both my fellow interns and my host ccompany, and I will forever be grateful to Absolute Internships for fascilitating the making of them.

I had a great experience during my internship in Japan this summer. I got to work in an international office, meet people from different backgrounds, and experience working in Tokyo. During the internship, I worked on financial products, Excel workbooks, research, and legal documents. Everyone in the office was really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Overall, I learned a lot, became more comfortable working in both English and Japanese, and really enjoyed my time there. I’m very glad I had this opportunity!

Absolute internship was a great experience. There were initial stresses with the internship aspect since I didn't get placed until the day I arrived in Tokyo, but I ended up meeting some incredible people and learning lots of new skills at work. Additionally, the staff at Absolute who were with us (program coordinators) in Tokyo were such lovely people. They were able to be reached very quickly and were very organized during planned trips with all the students. Furthermore, their friendly demeanor eased the nerves of going to a foreign country! The most memorable moments were the unplanned, spontaneous trips and memories made outside of work with other students. The group I came in with are some of my favorite people, and I still am in contact with them today! Highly recommend!

My time with Absolute Internship was amazing and really eye opening both in the work force, learning new skill and technique but also socially, meeting a wide range of people who I now cherish. I was placed in Tokyo, Japan the opportunities this granted me while out there have become core memories for the rest of my life. I worked remotely which was surprisingly helpful as I could manage my work a long side trips. It meant the world to me to see parts or my childhood like Pokémon and Nintendo all around me. So from day one I could tell it was going to be an unforgettable trip. Additionally, the friends that I made along the way elevated my experience even more!

The company and the people was the best thing about my experience I met so many amazing people in Japan and created such special bonds with everyone! I could not begin to describe how rewarding the whole experience was. As a Computer Science student at "Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education" I worked at "Irvine Systems" company in Tokyo from August 2024 to Decemeber 2024 I found this opportunity through the internship agency "Absolute", it was so much fun, I learned a lot of things, developed new skills, grew as a person, and made many great friendships while I was there. So many memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Japan has such a unique and authentic culture and getting to experience it was amazing!

Tokyo was a beautiful experience that helped me grow so much moth professionally and as a person. I worked in the field I desired and got to know a new culture and new amazing people. I recommend this experience!

I appreciated the friendly support the program coordinators always provided us, giving us a resource for any questions or advice needed. Tokyo is a great location to spend a month or two in and there is no shortage of places to explore or things to try. I also valued the opportunity to taste work culture and daily life in Tokyo with the internship experience!

Absolute Internship provides its interns with such a nice community while abroad and the trips and activities we were able to go on were a highlight of my time overseas. I felt more secure knowing I had people I could reach out to and I loved the company I interned at. Your experience may vary depending on where you intern but I think you can make the most of wherever you work. Absolute Internship was also very helpful in coordinating transportation and the housing situation was very convenient.

During my study abroad program in Japan, I had an incredible opportunity to dive deep into the culture and language. I also explored various cities, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the historic temples of Kyoto. I participated in local events and tried traditional Japanese foods, which allowed me to understand and appreciate the nuances of Japanese life. I made life-long friends with the program students and engaged in numerous cultural exchanges that greatly enhanced my experience. Overall, my time in Japan was a remarkable journey of learning and personal growth.

Very helpful, well-organized, fulfilling, and of course fun program that paired me up with a great company that matched my interests and helped me develop useful skills and knowledge in the field. Staff were very kind and always available for support or help when needed.

My internship in Tokyo was an amazing opportunity. I got to experience so many things that I wouldn't have been able to if I had just visited on my own, and I got to experience them with a group of people from all over the world! My program activities were much more in depth than I could have ever imagined (we even stayed at a fancy hotel with a spa, all included in the price)! I was so impressed by the housing as well, and it felt like an apartment for the summer with everyone in the program. My internship itself was a great experience, and they even hired me on to work as a paid intern remotely for the year. It was a bit tough finding one that worked out for my preferences in the beginning, but the Absolute staff was very accommodating and got me the in-person position that I was wanting. I highly recommend, Japan was incredible!

I had the best time in Japan with Absolute Intership. The team took care of everything, from accomodation and intership placement to cultural events and weekend trips, as well as practical needs such as sim card and transportation card. What made the experience so special was not only the opportunity to experience the Japanese culture and work environment but also meet people from all over the world. 100% would recommend this experience to students!

My time with Absolute Internship in Japan was an unforgettable experience. The people I met were great and the flexibility provided by the internship allowed me to explore Tokyo. Furthermore, the experience my internship provided allowed me to stand out from other resumes and land internships at lot more easily.

Absolutely perfect below all the aspects. This experience was useful to me in order to enrich my cv with an activity abroad in a different continent, that result a big jolly to find a new intern now in my homecountry. Moreover I knew fantastic people from every part of the world, with which I mantain contact nowadays. You will absolutely fall in love with Japan and with this internship program, spacing from contemporaneous hub-cities to beautiful and breathtaking panoramas. Absolute internship is the answer!

Overall, this has been a great experience. Absolute provided me with everything I needed to be successful. The subway card and the sim card were super helpful and made life in Tokyo a whole lot easier. Gonçalo was a great program coordinator and I’m glad I was able to meet and hangout with him these 6 weeks. I have no regrets. This trip will be one of the best memories in my life.

The internship program in Tokyo seemed like a very exciting opportunity, but I had some concerns given it was the first year of the program and as it was a new experience for me. Overall, I found the experience very enjoyable. It offered me many opportunities professionally and personally, and I feel that I have made the most out of the rare opportunity to spend six weeks in summer in Tokyo.

Overall, this was an amazing experience. The housing was excellent and quite close to my office. The trips were well-organized and I got to see some wonderful views. My internship was challenging but the managers were always available and understanding. Then the quality of life in Tokyo is probably the highest in the world.

I really enjoyed the program. At the start there were a few issues in regards to things being advertised on your website which were not actually supplied but that was fast forgotten. I enjoyed the weekend trips and the day trips were also good. Meeting so many new people was very exciting and I’m very glad that I found so many new friends. I think Aaron and Goncalo both did a very good job. They made me feel very welcome at the start and now I consider both of them as good friends.

I’m currently busy with a summer internship in Tokyo. This is the honest review of false marketing and advertising that Absolute Internship: When I asked for a refund as I'm not getting what I paid for I was told that if I wanted a refund I should've requested one 12 WEEKS BEFORE MY PROGRAM STARTED. When I complained about the false advertising they sent me a policy stating that "they cannot be held responsible for the info on their website" In regards to thing that we’re supposed to be included in this trip which is not: -Breakfast, yet when we arrived: no breakfast and everyone just keeps quiet about it -Laundry (It was never communicated that we would have to not only buy cards to use laundry but also pay extra for washing, drying etc?) -Transport and data, which upon arrival in Tokyo changed to only being included for first 4 weeks. -High speed internet, which is always disconnecting -Toiletpaper? It was never communicated that we would have to buy toiletpaper and soap to clean our rooms When I arrived in Tokyo there was a discomfort regarding my transfer that was waiting for me on the airport. I sent an email to Aiste a week before cancelling it as I couldn’t get private transport as requested. -We were explicitly told not to take any linens but yet we didn’t even receive pillow cases in our room. The above is really influencing the cost of the trip. We were promised a city tour, which was a total rip-off seeing as I could barely hear anything and you don’t even get chance to take a decent photograph. After arriving at the Anime are we were told we had EXACTLY 10 minutes to look around and do some shopping, which is kind of impossible to in that amount of time. The lack communication is shocking The AI staff literally tell you to meet up at a time and place and when you get there, nobody is there. They just don't inform you on changes in programmes so you end up missing them. There is no communication system in place and you can expect not to receive what you're paying for. Whenever I have a problem or try to get in touch there is general feeling of your staff that implies I’m in the wrong, no reply, or just a general “please understand my situation too”. Absolute provides false advertising! Regarding my internship, it didn't match my experience and was not a learning environment as promised. Thie whole trip is a massive waste of money and time seeing as I’m not really learning anything while being led astray to what is included and what not. I still haven’t received my metro card top-up and am travelling on my own expense due to your staff not replying to me and making any effort to help me with the things that are supposed to be included. When the staff don't ignore you, they bully you. Escpecially a lady named Heather who is supposed to be head of operations who runs an operations b taking your money and not giving you what you pay for. She casually replies with a "thank you for your feedback" AI promises a certain level of service in your marketing, which is clearly not the case. They basically steal your money! Don't sign-up to their programmes it's a total SCAM!
