Scam!!
June 14, 2019by: Bethany Holmes - AustraliaSCAM! under no circumstances should you go with this company. they lie, mislead, and have no communication skills with the interns. Please save your money, don't make the same mistakes i did. It is ridiculous how unprofessional they are! you could travel your country of choice for over a month with the same amount of money! Do not trust these people!
Dear Bethany,

We are truly sorry that our program has not been meeting your expectations and we would definitely like to assure you that we have listened to your concerns. We have been aiming to try our best to resolve the challenges you were facing during the first weeks of the program.

We understand that you were not completely satisfied with the fact that the commute to your internship is taking you a little longer than expected and it also involved additional costs for you. We completely understand this and, as we mentioned to you before, we are very happy to cover these additional costs for you.

You also raised some concerns regarding your tasks given on the first few days of your internship, which we take very seriously as this is one of the core factors to make sure you will get a hands-on quality work experience. Immediately, we reached out to your internship supervisor in order to provide you with the most valuable professional experience. Based on our last conversations with you, this is no longer a concern as you confirmed to be happy with your current projects after completing the introductory phase of your internship.

We were very sorry to find out that you decided to leave the safe student housing and the Absolute tribe itself. Since we were not made aware of your decision, we couldn't have explained the consequences of such actions. We are sure you understand that the safety of our students is number one of our priorities during the program, this is why we have a live-in Program Coordinator at our student housing available 24/7. We were happy to know you were satisfied with the quality of the accommodation (with the minor exception that we didn't provide toiletries). Therefore, we were hoping that you would accept our solution to welcome you back at the student housing with different conditions - this is the only way for us to know you are safe under our responsibility.

We really appreciate receiving feedback from students, which allows us to improve in the future. We can assure you, we took on board that some information would need to be communicated in a more detailed way, so that we can prevent any future misunderstandings/assumptions. Finally, we want to thank you for making us see that it wasn't clear that it would be up to you to have credit on the local sim card we provide you with. To help our students get started, we cover the first 30 days of the internship program.

We completely understand that being abroad for the first time can be challenging, and we really hope that overall you have a positive experience. Rest assured that we have taken your concern seriously and we have communicated with you to get this resolved on different occasions. We are still waiting for your final reply and we honestly hope that you enjoy the rest of your internship.

With this said, we really hope you can see things in a different light as well.

Best regards,

Absolute Internship team
Absolute Internship = Criminals
July 03, 2019by: Mene Bissett - South AfricaI’m currently busy with a summer internship in Tokyo. This is the honest review of false marketing and advertising that Absolute Internship: When I asked for a refund as I'm not getting what I paid for I was told that if I wanted a refund I should've requested one 12 WEEKS BEFORE MY PROGRAM STARTED. When I complained about the false advertising they sent me a policy stating that "they cannot be held responsible for the info on their website" In regards to thing that we’re supposed to be included in this trip which is not: -Breakfast, yet when we arrived: no breakfast and everyone just keeps quiet about it -Laundry (It was never communicated that we would have to not only buy cards to use laundry but also pay extra for washing, drying etc?) -Transport and data, which upon arrival in Tokyo changed to only being included for first 4 weeks. -High speed internet, which is always disconnecting -Toiletpaper? It was never communicated that we would have to buy toiletpaper and soap to clean our rooms When I arrived in Tokyo there was a discomfort regarding my transfer that was waiting for me on the airport. I sent an email to Aiste a week before cancelling it as I couldn’t get private transport as requested. -We were explicitly told not to take any linens but yet we didn’t even receive pillow cases in our room. The above is really influencing the cost of the trip. We were promised a city tour, which was a total rip-off seeing as I could barely hear anything and you don’t even get chance to take a decent photograph. After arriving at the Anime are we were told we had EXACTLY 10 minutes to look around and do some shopping, which is kind of impossible to in that amount of time. The lack communication is shocking The AI staff literally tell you to meet up at a time and place and when you get there, nobody is there. They just don't inform you on changes in programmes so you end up missing them. There is no communication system in place and you can expect not to receive what you're paying for. Whenever I have a problem or try to get in touch there is general feeling of your staff that implies I’m in the wrong, no reply, or just a general “please understand my situation too”. Absolute provides false advertising! Regarding my internship, it didn't match my experience and was not a learning environment as promised. Thie whole trip is a massive waste of money and time seeing as I’m not really learning anything while being led astray to what is included and what not. I still haven’t received my metro card top-up and am travelling on my own expense due to your staff not replying to me and making any effort to help me with the things that are supposed to be included. When the staff don't ignore you, they bully you. Escpecially a lady named Heather who is supposed to be head of operations who runs an operations b taking your money and not giving you what you pay for. She casually replies with a "thank you for your feedback" AI promises a certain level of service in your marketing, which is clearly not the case. They basically steal your money! Don't sign-up to their programmes it's a total SCAM!
Dear Mene,

First of all let us apologise for not being able to live up to your expectations. We can assure you, our main goal as a company is to ensure that students are developing professional and personal skills via our programs. It is incredibly saddening to hear your feedback that you feel let down despite our efforts to resolve your concerns.

We arranged phone calls with you to ensure we fully understand your concerns, we talked to you in person on location and communicated with you via email as well. We certainly took on some of your concerns that we need to improve and we are glad to advise you that internal changes are taking place to make sure there is no misunderstanding regarding what's included in the housing and how we provide SIM cards. We apologise if it wasn't clear that we supply our students with a local SIM card when they arrive to our program and on top of that we also add data and minutes for them for the first 30 days to start them off.

We were sorry to find out that you decided to leave our program and student housing without informing us. We take student safety very seriously and if you are not staying at the accommodation where we provide 24/7 on site support, it causes us concern about your safety and well being.

It was reassuring to know that you carried on with your internship placement and we truly hope that you gained plenty of useful skills that will enhance your employability. As unfortunately we couldn't receive more updates from you regarding your situation we honestly hope that you are taking away positive experiences as well. It does however sadden us that you would call us criminals when we are truly passionate about supporting and inspiring students. We can only hope that you will see this experience in a different light and that your experience was not influenced by any negative attitude from another student in the program.

Again, let us apologise to you that you didn't have the experience you hoped for and we would like think that spending a few weeks abroad has helped you broaden your network and gave you invaluable life skills.

We wish you all the best with your future Mene.
Best regards,
The Absolute Internship team
Amazing experience
October 05, 2019by: Mirko CarminatiOverall, this was an amazing experience. The housing was excellent and quite close to my office. The trips were well-organized and I got to see some wonderful views. My internship was challenging but the managers were always available and understanding. Then the quality of life in Tokyo is probably the highest in the world.
