Internships in Israel

I have learnt how to do work online, draft appeals for clients whose cases have been denied, speak some Spanish, update clients about their cases, update the Spanish Bar Association database. Above that, I have learnt that time management, open mindedness, curiosity, confidence and asking questions are key to success. I want to extend my deeper appreciation for your help and guidance through this process. I have got immeasurable knowledge, understanding, work ethic, and experience through this internship. I am all over anew with the internship experience I received.

The remote Legal Support for Human Rights Advocacy internship (hosted out of Tanzania) has empowered to be successful in my field as I learned a lot from my supervisor and I enjoyed that the most. I conducted relevant legal research in a foreign country to the standards of my peers. I have the confidence to tackle any challenge within the legal field. The internship also strengthened my passion for law and justice. It allowed me to see firsthand how legal systems operate in a different cultural and economic context, and it challenged me to think critically about fairness, access to justice, and professional ethics from that foreign environment.

Intern abroad found me an internship I really enjoyed doing! All my conditions that I wanted were met and the company that I did my internship with were also very good. The support I received from intern abroad was also great- I could always reach out via email and even had support during my interview. Although it may seem expensive I definitely thought the experience was worth it.

One of the things I enjoyed most about the remote Legal Support for Human Rights Advocacy internship (hosted out of Tanzania) was the opportunity to engage directly with local communities and witness the real-world impact of what we discussed and learned about. Being immersed in a different culture challenged me to adapt quickly, think critically, and approach problems with empathy and creativity. Professionally, it deepened my interest in global policy and grassroots organizing, while personally, it helped me grow more confident, independent, and open-minded. The experience gave me a clearer sense of purpose and direction in terms of the kind of work I want to pursue in the future. I really appreciated the guidance and support I received. Communication was clear and timely, and I felt that any questions or concerns I had were taken seriously. The team was approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. Thank you for being such a reliable and supportive resource throughout the process.

This experience significantly shaped my personal and professional development. Personally, it deepened my cultural awareness and empathy by immersing me in the lived experiences of Amazigh women and displaced communities. Professionally, it gave me hands-on experience drafting policy briefs and supporting legal education initiatives - strengthening my ability to communicate complex ideas across linguistic, legal, and cultural divides. It reinforced my passion for human rights law and solidified my long-term goal of pursuing a career in international legal advocacy.

What I enjoyed most about my internship in Morocco was the opportunity to work closely with local leaders and communities. Meeting and collaborating with people from different backgrounds - both my fellow interns and the Moroccan women pursuing entrepreneurship- was inspiring and eye-opening. The warmth, hospitality, and openness I experienced from my colleagues and the community made settling into a new environment much easier, and it also challenged some stereotypes I had before arriving. This internship was a valuable step in both my personal and professional development. Personally, it strengthened my ability to adapt to unexpected changes and to embrace new opportunities with an open mind. Professionally, it deepened my cultural competence, teaching me the importance of humility, listening, and understanding local contexts before proposing solutions. I also developed greater flexibility, cross-cultural communication skills, and respect for collaborative problem-solving - qualities I know will benefit me in any diverse work environment.

This internship empowered me, gave me confidence in who I am and my abilities. It solidified the idea that I am on the right track and will be successful. The skills and perspectives gained from this internship I will carry for the rest of my life.

I have always had a curiosity about human rights in African countries but I haven’t had the chance to hear about the reality of those countries directly from the people living there. Thus, this remote internship has allowed me to gain a new perspective on human rights, has empowered me and provided a significant and impactful learning point.

I have gained valuable experience in interning for an NGO dedicated to dealing with one of the most fiercely disputed areas of conflict in the world. I feel empowered that my experience will benefit my future career aspects in this particular field of work as I want to pursue a career in the area of conflict resolution. My role as an intern helped me to understand the dynamics of interning for a foreign NGO as a Westerner. It equipped me with the ability to recognise that all NGOs have specific development programmes tailored for their social and geo-political environment. The research I accomplished at the host organisation was distinct in its nature and I can apply similar methods of research for studying areas of conflict. My supervisor was very accommodating and allowed me flexibility with my working hours (day or night), due to the two-hour time difference between Israel-Palestine and the UK.

I feel this internship has set me up for a better understanding of what legal studies are. I feel empowered to be successful through the tools I have learned throughout this process. I have learned how to properly examine legislation and compare it to those of other government organizations. This internship has allowed me to create a better understanding of how to find resources and other information systems to create real-life experience for comparing law and legal culture for future jobs. The skills I have learned through creating this legal comparison has allowed me to build on my critical thinking skills.

My remote internship has been a wonderful experience. I have loved connecting with professionals who work within my field of interest and learning about marine life conservation. I hope that one day I will be able to visit the Institute in person! As an intern, I worked within the environmental law and policy team. During this time, I researched dolphinariums and legislation pertaining to dolphins in captivity. Ultimately, this assisted with the organization's promotional and development work surrounding the new dolphin sanctuary being built in Greece. I think I underestimated how flexible the role was and I worried about this very much before I started. I loved how I could work on everything in my own time. I think I would advise others not to worry about this.

This internship has aligned in every way with my long-term goals. Not only did this internship boost my chances of entering university, it also makes me better suited to my dream field of study: international relations. My favorite memory from the internship was my second meeting with my supervisor. During this meeting, they told me their experience as a Arab-Palestinian Israeli citizen. The story was raw, sometimes tragic, sometimes triumphant, always inspiring. Overall, it served to bond the two of us early-on, which boosted our success and compatibility down the road. Working with an issue as complicated as the one featured in my internship (the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) is excellent training in listening to multiple sides of a story, a critical skill in any diplomatic position, which I aspire to one day hold.

Hi one day I went to Israel for my internship but I really enjoyed within my friends because the program was international where I met new people like Philippines, srilanka,indians,Cameroon and many more. I experienced in agriculture fields like planting, harvesting, weeding etc I experienced in tours we went to holy places like river Jordan, Nazareth Jerusalem and much more thanks

My remote internship was like an inspiring seed. The internship widened my path as a future policy maker, through legal practice experience. The knowledge of contract law and negotiation skills that I gained can also help me to strike better business deals. Having a connection with Tanzania develops my understanding of the East African society and the knowledge paths gained offer future opportunities, if I would pursue a global political career in the future. During the remote internship, I learnt about aspects of Law that I unknowingly practice in my day to day life, for example making contracts and handling negotiations. My favourite outcome from the internship was the discussion of human rights issues with my supervisor, who is a solicitor and was recently working as a state attorney. We also dealt with a land dispute case together. I gained a better understanding of the human rights issues in Tanzania and learned more about the differences between the common law systems of Tanzania and Hong Kong. From here, my goal is to become involved in an African International organisation in the future. I would like to continuously read more legal cases and keep up to date with the human rights issues in Africa.

My Legal Support internship has cemented my passion for human rights and given me even more enthusiasm for my career path. The internship provided me with a platform to practice what I want to become: a voice of the voiceless in the context of human rights in societies. When I initially spoke with my supervisor before commencing, she provided me with background on the organization and I was immediately eager to begin. When I actually started, I was not disappointed at all - everything went so smoothly. Everyone in the organization was very relatable in terms of culture and clearly communicated to me my role and responsibilities. As a Law & Human Rights intern, I was responsible for administrative support of the organization. I analyzed legal documents, made reviews with the guidance of my supervisor and contributed to the design of educational materials involving human rights and children’s rights. My tasks supported the organization and its goal of promoting human rights and making justice accessible to everyone.

Interning with a human rights advocacy group was an incredible experience because I was given the ability to learn about international humanitarian law and policy via legal research and analysis. I feel this internship experience will be directly applicable to a job or career path that I’d like to follow next year. I conducted research on my host organizations areas of interest to aid in the development of their long-term objectives and learned how to interact professionally with individuals from various walks of life. My supervisor has taught me so much, and I’ve had such a great time working with her. Not surprisingly, I was able to acquire outstanding legal document drafting skills and superior written and oral communication abilities.

My internship experience was everything that I hoped it would be! Everyone I was in contact with was extremely accommodating, helpful and efficient. The staff were keen to know about my background, education and any relevant experience I'd had in Ireland and appreciated any comments I could offer. They similarly encouraged questions and asked for my feedback on ways in which they could improve my learning experience and the internship programme for future interns. I had expected my role to be less interactive and imagined myself shadowing staff or carrying out minor assignments. In reality the staff at my organisation really took the time to teach me - whether this be about their work, the Tanzanian legal system, various laws and procedures or women's rights. Being able to virtually attend a teacher training day hosted by my organisation was an amazing and authentic experience - the training was conducted through Swahili, but staff were kind enough to translate for me and explain the different exercises. I definitely feel more empowered to be successful in the field of human rights. As well as being an excellent addition to my CV, this internship, and the additional skills (communication, active listening, networking, emotional intelligence) I acquired during my time will be beneficial to any future roles I have. Furthermore, receiving positive feedback from my supervisors and being commended on my efforts massively boosted my confidence.

This internship has taught me a lot about what it means to take charge and really give my all on something for a cause that I believe in - it’s given me the confidence to believe in my ideas and words. It helped a lot that I had such a supportive team with me every step of the way. I definitely learned that I get out as much as I put in. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some phenomenal projects with this team that have been extremely rewarding and enlightening, so I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot about working with an NGO, writing proposals, how applying for grants work, and other things related to this industry. It’s been very helpful in my journey towards finding a career path. I feel empowered knowing that there are numerous opportunities available for me, and that there are actors and organizations that are trying to make the world a better place and working towards or on causes I’m passionate about. It’s very inspiring. Also, working with an organization that really champions womens’ voices has been very exciting and empowering to be a part of.
