My Experience Getting a Master's Degree With UAH Teach & Learn Program
July 23, 2026by: Storm, Sophia Sophia Storm - United StatesI am so thankful for my experience at Instituto Franklin-UAH. I graduated with a master's degree in ESL and Bilingual education in 2025. I would like to highlight a very special person, Iulia, who not only helped me succeed in the program as a young single mom, but who also helped me navigate some very difficult circumstances while far away from home. She did not hesitate to become an important part of our support system. I truly do not know where we would be today without her!

I had the opportunity to observe and participate in classrooms with diverse cultural and educational practices. This allowed me to understand different learning styles, teaching methods, and the importance of adapting lessons to meet students’ individual needs. Beyond academics, I learned how education can bridge cultures and build mutual respect. Living and studying in a new environment helped me grow both personally and professionally, improving my communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence as a future educator. I’m excited to bring these experiences into my own classroom and inspire students to think globally.

I had the pleasure of reflecting on a 28 year career
October 14, 2025by: sophia isidore -joseph - St. LuciaDuring the course it caused me to do have a clearer understanding of how the school is to be managed. Part of the management is discipline in the workplace and critical evaluation of issues faced in the school. Additionally, there needs to be a comprehensive view of curriculum and instruction, handling of crisis , evaluating teachers and teaching ,and lastly , the technical aspects of management. The course Masters of Art in Education and Administration has been one that has caused me to reflect on best practices and come up with solutions to improve on areas that are lacking.

The program provided not only theoretical knowledge but practical tools to lead schools with purpose, equity, and innovation. Through deep exploration of organisational dynamics, strategic planning, and inclusive leadership models, I strengthened my ability to build positive environments for both learners and educators.
