  • A second family. Staying with another family means becoming part of one. Even after you leave, you’ll know there’s someone across the world who feels like home.

Things to know

Before you dive into daily life with your host family, keep these helpful tips in your back pocket:

  • Respect and adaptability. Be ready to adjust to new routines, house rules, and ways of living. It’s all part of the experience.
  • Meals. Most homestays include shared meals, giving you a delicious intro to local flavors and family customs.
  • Communication. Chat openly with your hosts about privacy, schedules, and expectations to set the tone for a smooth stay.
