On this PADI Divemaster and marine conservation internship, you’ll spend your days diving around and protecting some of the most beautiful underwater creatures in the world. You will collect data that will enable the community to manage Marine Protected Areas. The first phase of this internship starts with our marine conservation expedition. You will train for 12 weeks to advance your scuba diving skills while exploring the deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. You will gain intimate knowledge of how a marine conservation base operates whilst gathering valuable ecological data on the reed and related ecosystems. On successful completion of the expedition phase, you will undertake your PADI Divemaster course during your 12-week work placement phase at a local dive center. You will spend the majority of your time on this internship scuba diving, and therefore require at least a PADI Open Water qualification or equivalent to join.

Work alongside conservationists and researchers and dive with sharks in a controlled environment in this exciting program for young participants who are at least 15 years old and have a PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent scuba certification. Dispel negative myths surrounding sharks and discover their importance to ocean ecosystems. On a single dive, observe bull, lemon, and tiger sharks. At the Shark Reef Marine Reserve, dispel the myths surrounding sharks and observe multiple species in a controlled setting. Learn all about shark biology and behavior. Join our Shark Conservation project in Fiji for a high-impact adventure designed for teens ages 14-18. Based in Pacific Harbour, you’ll work alongside world-leading researchers, waking up in a tropical paradise to protect some of the ocean’s most misunderstood predators. In your first week, you’ll master the water by earning your PADI Open Water certification (all gear included!) and a specialized Shark Conservation Diver course. Once certified, you’ll assist with shark surveys, identify coral species in local nurseries, and get your hands dirty with mangrove reforestation and beach clean-ups. When you aren't underwater, you’ll immerse yourself in Fijian culture. Imagine longboat rides up the Navua River, visiting traditional villages, and tubing down gentle rapids.
