Teach your native language and experience the real Germany—with young and enthusiastic counselors worldwide! 'LEOlingo Süd' organizes English and French language summer camps for German children in Bavaria, Southern Germany. Our focus is not on teaching the children intense vocabulary and grammar, but rather on helping them to understand and speak the language in a fun environment. Our counselors are English and French native speakers worldwide, including in the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK! Each day, counselors create a varied and exciting program for the children, allowing them to learn about their counselor’s country and culture – from language games, funny self-written sketches, and crafts to national sports and adventure activities like waterskiing, caving, and rock climbing! The camps themselves take place in different villages, towns, and cities around Bavaria for six weeks during the summer break. These camps often take place in schools, Boy Scout areas, youth centers, monasteries, cabins, and even castles! Our summer season 2026 starts July 24th and ends September 11th.

As a native English-speaking country, Ireland provides a competitive job market for qualified TEFL teachers. Positions are available at private language schools or through private tutoring. Classes typically emphasize Conversational English, General English, Business English, and English for Specific Purposes—Aviation, Hospitality, and Nursing. Contract lengths vary, with year-round hiring seasons for teaching positions. To qualify, a TEFL certification such as the Level 5 Diploma is recommended, particularly for competitive roles. Prepare to Teach Abroad
Set goals
Having goals for any part of the school year is important! Having goals for teaching abroad is somehow even more important! Take these as a starting point or pull inspiration from the ideas below.
- Pick an academic skill or technique that you’d like to improve. Push yourself to take the extra time to hone, expand, or learn more about each.
- Push yourself to try new things or grow personally outside of being a teacher. Do this one on a comfortable basis though if it’s your first time abroad or in a new place.
- Connect with others! Students, other academics, locals, and more can help you grow as a person and an educator.
Understand the benefits
There are plenty of benefits to teaching abroad in Western Europe. Here are some of the top reasons.
- Cultural and language immersion. If you’ve learned a language, or have admired one, and the people who speak it, this is a perfect opportunity to dive right into it. Make sure you have appropriate language skills to make it!
- Diverse professional development. Having more experience within any field, but especially teaching makes you a stronger professional.
- Personal growth. Although growing as an educator is always an important part of the career, growing personally is just as important. The only way to grow as a professional is by having unique experiences that challenge you at multiple levels and teaching abroad will do that.
