I wanted to teach abroad and had no idea how. I wanted to since I was in college. I came across the language house one day while searching and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. The instructors were fantastic and there is so much hands on learning you really get a great feel for teaching and how to build lessons. You even get to teach real sstudents during the course! They also take you on a few short distance adventures in the Czech Republic and Prague. It was so much fun and it changed my life and my perspectives and my teaching for the better.

This course was an absolute blast! What started as just a means to an ends o move to a new country became so much more. I enjoyed the teaching and courses immensely. Now I have more diverse job skills, an additional set of income, a ready-to-go network, and the training to actually make it all work!

The course and the ongoing support were fantastic. They did an excellent job preparing you. The classroom instruction was fantastic and they had an impressive amount of live classroom teaching time. It felt overwhelming occasionally, but in a good way. By Thursday of the first week you were in front of actual students and you taught 9 lessons by the end of the course. If you are serious about wanting to teach English abroad this course gives you all the tools to be successful.

I went into it not necessarily knowing what it would entail but it was a rich experience. I do recommend for various reasons: -Abroad -challenging -Prague is beautiful -teachers are very skilled - your previous experience is irrelevant, you will learn new things on a daily basis. -teaching real people throughout the course

I graduated from the Language House TEFL course in 2014. 11 years later, I'm still here in Prague! The course itself was comprehensive and the quality of the teaching was excellent. And in addition, the school was exceptional in helping students find jobs and integrate into a new country. Also very substantial, the Language House introduces you to a community of fellow teachers. Some of my closest friends today I met through the Language House. The school delivered everything it promised -- and more!

The Language House is an amazing program. The instructors truly care about each and every student and go above and beyond to help you succeed. The training is rigorous, but if you put in the work you’ll gain the necessary skills to start teaching right away. With additional assistance with the job and housing search, and a strong alumni community, It’s everything you need to build your life abroad. I did the program in 2012 and I’m still living in Prague with many friends that I made through the program. I even met my husband through TLH!

TLH Prague offers so much in just one month…student teaching, friendships, and support in finding what to do after graduation. The class offers so much while also making sure you still have opportunities to immerse yourself in the culture. Truly a once in a lifetime experience! 10/10 recommend!!

I visited Prague for the first time in 2019 and by my third day here, I knew that I was going to live here. After four years of planning, speaking with friends, and testing out ideas regarding how practical the move might be, nothing was really happening. Then a friend mentioned that his niece had just spent a year in Prague and said that he would have her email me. Melanie did, and in her email was an invite to a Zoom meeting with folks from The Language House. I had just retired after 23 years of substitute teaching in middle and high schools for LAUSD and had no intention of teaching again. However, that 30-minute Zoom call opened the door for me to follow a dream. I learned that The Language House would not only qualify me for a TEFL certificate, but would help me with my visa to live here (thank you, Jitka) and show me how to find a place to live. Beyond that (as if that’s not enough), TLH alumni have become my family. Our October 2023 class has already enjoyed one reunion last year and now we’re planning another! And TLH grads are invited to the graduation party for each session - that’s about once a month - so I’ve become a member of an even greater community - TLH is a school that becomes a family. In less than two years, I managed to get work teaching in businesses (companies here sometimes hire English teachers to give their employees free English lessons, thus “added value” for the employee and the company). I’ve developed my own free-lance collection of private, one-on-one students in person and online (mostly through word-of-mouth, as Chris mentioned is usually the way it happens). It is a delight to forge new relationships with my adult students, relationships that are both meaningful and enjoyable. I started a wonderful, fulfilling life all over again here in Europe at 76 years old. I’m so thankful to The Language House for making that possible, for making yet another life’s dream come true.

I enrolled in this TEFL course back in 2017 and I still look back at that decision and see it as one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The course itself was difficult and prepared you for all the difficulties you can come to expect as an English teacher in Prague. Above all, it jump started the best 4 years of my life living in Europe, meeting incredible people and having unforgettable adventures.

I completed my TEFL certificate with The Language House way back when in 2016. The support and community provided was fantastic and I’ve applied the skills I learnt in the course across many different industries and occupations. 100% recommend, it was a life changing experience for me and I still have friends all across the world from my course.

I took this program just expecting to get a certificate and then be on my own however as an alumni member I still went to graduations and networked it was a fantastic experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. I quickly found work once the course was over some even managed to get employed before they graduated. Great program

Learned so much in four weeks. It was hard work, but with terrific results. More intensive than a Masters degree in Education from the US. Also, Prague is a fabulous city. I now teach a group of ten adults from Brazil and Ukraine and we've been together for one year. Thanks, Language House.

Taking the TEFL course in Prague was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I arrived expecting to stay for just a year after the course, but I ended up loving it there so much that I stayed for two. The course was engaging, practical, and well-structured, giving me the skills and confidence to start teaching right away. One of the biggest highlights was the community. I met incredible people from all over the world, many of whom became lifelong friends. We supported each other through lesson planning, explored Prague together, and shared countless laughs. The city’s vibrant social scene also made it easy to meet new people, including some very charming acquaintances. Prague itself was the perfect setting, full of history, beauty, and opportunity. I even learned more of the language than I expected to. Thanks to the school’s connections and the high demand for English teachers, I found a job quickly and easily. This wasn’t just a course, it was the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. If you’re looking for adventure, growth, and a rewarding career path, I can’t recommend it enough!

Moving to a new city and starting a whole new career happened so much smoother thanks to the Language House. From TEFL stuff to housing, visa, job search, post-studies support, it’s been a great experience. Looking back, I wouldn’t have done it any other way. Also, the lessons were so fun and engaging, and introduced so many creative ideas. It was tough, but so worth it! Thanks TLH :)

It was the best possible choice for me. The Language House turned to be wonderful institution with excellent teachers and extremely supportive owner Chris.I learned quite a lot in term of teaching, because this has never been my primary profession. I researched several options before making the leap to move abroad and take courses to earn my TEFL certification. I had the best experience with The Language House. After submitting an inquiry, a representative called me right away and helped me feel at ease about such a big life commitment. She had done the course herself and was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions which helped me feel confident in making my decision to choose The Language House. Once I came over, the course was everything I expected (and hoped for). I found an instant community which made the whole experience wonderful and comfortable right from the start. The practical experience and professionalism of the staff are two of the best qualities of the program. You will leave feeling prepared and up to speed as a teacher. You will also feel part of a community that will be an important support arm not only during the course but also in the job search process and if you decide to stay in Prague and live and work. I am so glad I chose this program for my course. Well worth it.

I did the language house back in 2016. I didn’t know anyone in Czech Republic and had no previous teaching experience. The school made the transition process for living abroad easier. With a large community and intensive training, they set me up for success. The classes were intense, but I loved the hands of training and the continued support after the course was finished. Doing this course was one of the best decisions I ever made.

The Language House was the best decision I have ever made. They guided me every step of the way and the support given to me in every aspect of my move to Prague was more than appreciated. They are unmatched in equipping students with the knowledge to effectively teach English as a foreign language as well as providing support through the entire journey.
