My internship at Environmental Defenders was an amazing and rewarding experience. I gained practical skills in tree nursery management, seed banking, indigenous tree identification, bird identification, GPS mapping, and tree planting. The team provided valuable guidance and helped me connect my classroom knowledge with real conservation work. I improved my teamwork, communication, and fieldwork skills while learning more about biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to protecting nature. I would highly recommend this experience to students interested in conservation and environmental management.

I spent 2 weeks in Beihai （北海）this summer studying Chinese and it was one of the best classes I've ever had. The teacher and the school absolutely listened to what I wanted and needed - as I studied Chinese in university my level is high enough to qualify for single class only and my wish was to train my speaking ability again and to revise a lot! And that's what we did - 4h of speaking Chinese every day! In addition I really liked the overall atmosphere at the school, the staff are all very kind and fun, organizing activities for the students and helping them whenever they have any questions or needs. Additionally, I had a lovely homestay and got close to the family members in it. I feel very grateful for them and for how warmly they welcomed me into their home. In terms of location - the school is located conveniently in the city center. Beihai is not a big city, so public transportation is a bit of a hassle but it's still manageable even for those who don't dare to rent an e-Scooter (like me, lol). You will be able to enjoy a nice beach with seaside, seafood and other local specialities there. :-)

I did my second trip with TFT to Italy, Switzerland, and France and it couldn't have been better!! TFT's trips create a really open yet safe environment- giving us freedom in safe areas to feel like locals while having structured tours of important sites. They created a really awesome environment that allowed me to make quick friends with the other kids on the trip. If you're able to do a trip with TFT, definitely do it. I have memories that will stick with me forever!

The foundations are Colombian founded and really support the children and adults in the country I fell in love with both Bucaramanga, the people and the foundations.

Program: Teach Confidently with this 10-Hour Practicum Course

The 10 Hour Advanced Certificate in TEFL Classroom Methodologies Course, which I recently joined was such a great experience where I could get to understand the nuances of teaching English to students of different ages and language backgrounds. The course was encompassed every aspects of teachings, and it will surely be a great aid to my career ahead in English teaching. Our instructor for the course Michelle Benson was such a supportive teacher and a fabulous person. She was very much lively throughout the sessions and her energy was being transmitted to us. She is a really experienced teacher and it was evident in the way she guided us through the lessons. She knew exactly when to intervene. I really enjoyed the sessions. Thank you for the course.

The Voluntours program is small but they do a great job of networking to provide a balanced experience, including two hours of Spanish class per day, involvement with local educational programs in school and prison environments, and even an animal shelter (though I didn’t get to that one). They gave us great recommendations for things they didn’t provide directly: the nearby salsa class was great!

**My Experience at XUK English** Before I came to XUK English, I was a little nervous because I didn’t know anyone and wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I settled in really quickly and ended up having one of the best summers ever! One of my favourite things about XUK English was meeting people from all over the world. I made friends with people from lots of different countries, and it was really interesting learning about their lives, cultures and traditions. Even though we spoke different languages at home, we all got along really well and had so much to talk about. The English lessons were also much more enjoyable than I expected. They weren’t just about sitting in a classroom and doing worksheets. We got involved in activities, worked together and had plenty of opportunities to practise speaking English. I feel much more confident speaking English now, especially with people I’ve only just met. There was always something fun to do outside lessons, too. I loved taking part in the activities, playing sports and spending time with my friends. The staff were really friendly and made sure everyone felt included. There was always someone to talk to if you needed help, which made me feel comfortable and safe. Another highlight was spending time with everyone in the evenings. We played games, laughed a lot and made memories that I know I’ll remember for a long time. It was also great having the chance to become more independent and do things for myself. Overall, I would definitely recommend XUK English to anyone who wants to improve their English, meet people from around the world and have an amazing summer. I arrived feeling a little nervous, but I left with better English, lots of new friends and so many brilliant memories. I would love to come back again!

The teacher and the students beside me are very helpful on how to speak clearly, learn new vocabulary, as well as know how to use the proper grammar structure. I am grateful to be here as a learning experience to know a lot about mandarin as well as meeting with a lot of foreign friends from all around the world. Meanwhile, I was surprised when I saw a lot of foreigner from different countries and they intended to study mandarin diligently. It inspired me to study further beyond my current knowledge about mandarin and improve it more.

Thanks to the CHE Association, I was able to participate in a week of volunteering where I literally worked on open construction sites. All their projects aim to create and/or reclaim spaces for the community and those most in need. I mixed concrete by hand, knocked down walls with a mallet, painted the facade of a homeless shelter. But above all, I experienced wonderful moments of sharing and bonding with people who, in that moment, were all committed to helping create something beautiful! I meet amazing people who made me feel welcomed

It was incredibly an enriching experience to gain hands-on experience in conservation work from the field activities especially in the reserves that protect important landscape and biodiversity. The staffs where supportive and easy to work for time I was there...Though interms of technicality as far as conservation work is concerned, it was lacking and would love if technical qualified personnels who are knowledgeable about conservation and has understanding of biodiversity of local area to be stationed in the reserves where the field work are done to offer guidance and help in technical aspects. The pre departure communication is excellent but it's quite different once at the site and I think this could be improved by having weekly reports assignments and reports and should be followed closely.. The health can be improved in especially in the reserves where atleast a medical personnel assigned during periods of field works to provide emergency services incase of accidents..

I spent one month at the Nyamukino site with two of my colleagues and the rangers, conducting rapid assessments and documenting species. It was an exciting and unforgettable experience that deepened my appreciation for nature and conservation. One of the most memorable parts of my experience was conducting transect walks with my colleagues, identifying and documenting different species. The unarmed rangers were incredibly knowledgeable about the local environment, and their rich indigenous knowledge made our fieldwork even more rewarding. Their passion and commitment to conservation were truly inspiring. The experience also gave me the opportunity to encounter bird species I had previously known only from books and theory, including the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill. These moments brought my classroom knowledge to life and strengthened my passion for biodiversity conservation. The evening patrols with the unarmed rangers were special, allowing me to appreciate the aesthetic value of nature while gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting it. My sincere gratitude goes to the management of Environmental Defenders for their remarkable work, continued efforts in environmental restoration, and commitment to raising environmental awareness. I am grateful to have been part of this experience, and the memories and lessons I gained at Nyamukino will remain with me for a long time

Hello, my name is Taylorann, I am from Utah and I attend Utah Tech University. Here, Athens is very safe, I feel very good traveling to the hospital every day and being here at the hospital has been really great because doctors explain everything and are very kind. I’ve had the opportunity to sub for two different placements, which is something I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do elsewhere. In terms of the program, it’s been really great. They gave us a place to stay which is very safe and they gave you places to go and recommendations. Overall, I’ve had a great experience.

Working with AIP was a great experience! AIP helped me locate an internship in Tainan, Taiwan. On the weekdays I received hands-on experience with my company, and on the weekends I adventured. My accommodations were right in the heart of the city, which made sampling Tainan’s cafe and food scene very convenient! I also had the opportunity to partake in mid-autumn festival. Enjoying mooncakes and pomelos under a bright night sky was unforgettable memory. I made so many meaningful experiences and connections from this trip, and I really appreciate AIP’s dedicated team for helping me along the way.
