Best experience of my life

I spent a month in Bolgatanga (Ghana) with Future 4 Afrika in a Education program. I went to a school and gave classes to the children in the morning and we did other different activities in the afternoon, like going to orphanages to spend time and play with the kids. It was certainly the best experience for my life and I recommend it to everybody! It made me change my way of seeing life. All the people working in this NGO are angels and the took care of us like we were family. I can’t wait to come back!!!

I don't want to leave :')

Being in Cusco was way better than I had imagined (and I had imagined it a lot hahaha)! Maximo just had the best and most welcoming team, with great teachers and an energizing environment. I already had a good level of spanish, but now I know a lot more and I feel confident to practice everywhere I go! I can't wait to be back here :)<3

Life-changing: an Understatement

In December of 2025, I had no plans of studying abroad; everything seemed to expensive or out-of-reach. It was half-way through that month that my French teacher approached me with an opportunity to pursue a scholarship that funded the majority of this program. Upon winning that scholarship (on my birthday!) and another financial aid tuition cut—all thanks to the amazing AFS donors who made that possible—I was given the chance to attend this program. Together with 24 other people from the United States, we were thrown into a whole new world. As would be an expectation by anyone who had never experienced an opportunity of such a scale before, the beginning of the program was difficult. It was easy, at this point, to only see what was negative about being in France at that time: the rooms were hot and muggy, I was unsure of my roomates, and I hadn’t slept well because of adrenaline. It was the end of June of 2026, and I had only just began my month-long program; I couldn’t wait for July to come faster. Almost exponentially, in a sense, my experience of the program skyrocketed in a good direction. Simultaneously with all the enjoyment and excitement studying abroad brought me, I learned to enjoy things that were different from what I was used to: we learned work-arounds to cool off the dorms at night, I learned to see the dorm bed as my own and finally be able to rest and process what was going on, the people around me developed too—we were all in it together, and those fellow attendees became some of the best friends I’ve ever made. Come the time of my graduation in 2028, I want to continue what I started this summer and pursue a degree in France at university. I’ll never forget my time in France. To whoever happens to be reading this—either adult or youth—the risk is worth it: the heat, the stress, fear, were all worth it. Life is far too short, and the world is far too divided to never see it all. Take the chance if you have it!

Plage de la Mala, July 6 2026. (Dear applicants and future attendees, do consider this question, would you trade seeing the most beautiful beach of your life at the expense of your calves- walking up far too many stairs?)

Not of the program specifically- but of the final day at the airport. Everyone who attended shares this very same photo, all from different angles, but alike the same; a symbol of the connection you can build.

One of the best experiences I've ever had

Everyone should go out of the comfort zones, and try a volunteering experience. It opens your mind and makes you realize what it really matters in life. I've learnt a lot, and I've learnt to value what I have. Future 4 Africa offered me this opportunity and they were even better than I expected. They took care of me in every single moment of the programm. I've had a really good time with them and I will for sure come back! Incredible people and incredible hearts! I just can say thank you.

My experience during these 2 months as a Teaching Assistant

My experience in Ghana was extremely positive and enriching. I carried out several missions related to education, water supply, and the construction of sustainable, affordable houses adapted to the hot climate. The association provided excellent support and comfortable living conditions, making my integration easy. The local community welcomed me warmly and showed great appreciation for my work. This experience allowed me to discover a new culture, develop new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. I am very happy to have supported this association and its valuable work for local communities.

My immersion program with Maximo Nivel was incredible.

My immersion program with Maximo Nivel was incredible. I did six weeks of group class for four hours a day, and over the course of those weeks I had five different amazing teachers who I am so grateful for. Then I began a volunteer program working with the kids of adolescent mothers which was one of the most fun and rewarding things I have ever done. Throughout the entire time (three months total), I lived with an amazing local family which I know feel like I am truly a member of. Overall, what an incredible experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Merci future for africa 🙏🏼 *** english *** This last month has been the best experience of my life. We were surrounded by caring people on each of our missions, who helped us to live our experience in the most impactful and beneficial way possible. The missions proposed were very interesting, we had the freedom to propose activities & other occupations, we were very free in our proposals! On top of that, the association was very attentive to our mood, our day and how we felt, and played a really supportive role. We were able to meet some incredible people, and spend some unforgettable moments of exchange. We also had the chance to discover many parts of Ghana, and learn more about the local cultures. I can't wait to come back and continue working with them on the many projects they have for the future, for all the people they help on a daily basis! Thank you future for africa 🙏🏼

I learnt so much and explored LONDON

Wow. what an amazing opportunity to take part in a wonderful work environment, with amazing colleagues, I learnt so much in my internship and had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience. Specifically to beyond academy, the team was so helpful, supportive and very interesting. From community engagement, to exploring different parts for london and taking part in a vast variety of events. A very active group chat where one can connect with both the team and fellow interns. Guidance on career progression, London culture and way of life and even wonder day to day Hacks and ideas. Amazing accommodation, close to transport facilities. Great communication and insight on multiple experiences, ideas and perspectives.

Having the time of my life!

I am currently in Surfers Paradise, working in a brand-new, high-demand hostel, with a group of Internex girls as roommates, and we are having the time of our lives! Internex helped me arrange the perfect position for my gap year, as well as supported me each step of the way. Even if circumstances changed, Internex was super flexible and tailored to my needs. They also helped with my bank accounts and TFN, which was great because it took so much stress off my plate. Even now, being here, I stay in touch with my awesome advisor, Chris, to make sure that I'm still a happy girlie in my beachy paradise. If you are looking for a guiding hand in your working abroad experience, choose internex! You can focus on the fun part of australia-being there!

Unforgettable experience in Vietnam

My trip to Vietnam was amazing, especially getting to soak up the culture and eat all that great local food in my downtime. I also loved bonding with the locals and the other people on the program, and I really grew a lot in terms of confidence and independence. I would highly recommend this programme to anyone, especially friends pursuing their QTS. It offers invaluable hands-on, international classroom experience that drastically improves your adaptability, public speaking, and behavior management skills. Managing diverse groups and overcoming communication barriers provides a unique real-world teaching confidence

Primary Healthcare Assistant for underserved communities

FutureforAfrica is a reliable NGO, with coordinators who love what they do and everything collected goes to the people in full, Ghana is a beautiful country, with very happy and pleasant people, would return a thousand times.I have done several volunteers during my life, but this has been one of the best, starting from the beginning with the organization, the coordinators who have been a support before and during the trip, had a little doubt about the food, the water we could consume in the house, but everything has been clean and packaged. Every day it was planned and on weekends we could go somewhere to meet, Ghana is a beautiful country, it would return again.

Meaningful experience

I spent one month in Ghana volunteering in childcare and healthcare programmes, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Stepping outside my comfort zone brought me so many benefits, and I believe that, in the end, volunteering often gives you just as much, if not more, than what you give to the people you hope to support. The NGO I chose, Future for Africa, really took care of me throughout my stay. I was particularly impressed by the organisation's realistic projects and long-term objectives aimed at creating sustainable improvements in local communities. What made the experience even more meaningful was that my connection with Future for Africa did not end when I returned home. I continued supporting the organisation by participating in fundraising efforts for its water and healthcare projects, which have helped extend access to essential services to many rural communities in Ghana. It was inspiring to realise that I could continue contributing to meaningful change even from a distance. I strongly recommend volunteering with Future for Africa to anyone looking for a meaningful experience, an opportunity to discover a new culture and a chance to make a positive contribution. I learned so much, made wonderful memories and developed a lasting connection with the organisation and its work. I can't wait to return to Ghana!

Great experience.

I spent almost four weeks at Future4Africa and truly enjoyed my time there. During this period, I gained many new experiences and had the opportunity to work both in the primary school and in the community with the children in the afternoons. The time with them was incredibly rewarding and brought me a lot of joy. A special thanks goes to Joshua and Samuel, who put so much effort into making my stay unforgettable. They not only organized everything perfectly but also took me on trips to show me the country, its culture, and the beautiful nature. This gave me a very authentic insight and made my stay even more valuable. I can highly recommend Future4Africa to anyone who would like to get to know a new culture, work with children, and at the same time make a positive impact.

Incredible Trip!

Wow! Travel For Teens organized an incredible trip! There were fun activities, great food, and lots of memories! This trip was a great combination of sightseeing, beaches/boating, and learning about a new culture. The three trip leaders were absolutely incredible, they were fun while still being very responsible and organized. I absolutely loved this trip!
