Inspirational Team and Impactful Project
April 15, 2026by: Pablo Quintanilla - SpainMy experience with the Fundraising & Partnerships Internship at Future for Africa was both eye-opening and empowering. It gave me a practical, behind-the-scenes understanding of what it really takes to sustain impact-driven projects. From the start, I was actively involved in designing and supporting fundraising strategies not just observing, but contributing ideas that were genuinely considered. I had the opportunity to work on grant writing, develop campaign concepts, and assist in planning outreach efforts to both local and international partners. This hands-on exposure made the learning experience very real and valuable. One of the most rewarding aspects was engaging with partners and supporters. Whether it was helping draft communications, contributing to newsletters, or supporting relationship-building efforts, I could see how strong partnerships directly translate into meaningful community impact. The collaborative environment stood out as well. Working closely with the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager and other teams helped me understand how different parts of the organization connect toward a shared mission. I also appreciated the creative freedom especially in developing content for social media and campaigns which allowed me to bring my own ideas to life. This internship is ideal for anyone interested in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or partnership development. It’s not just a learning experience; it’s an opportunity to actively contribute to something meaningful while building practical, transferable skills.
A Meaningful Experience of a Lifetime
April 15, 2026by: Lucia Doll Garcia - SpainProgram: Community Health Outreach Assistant
My volunteer experience in Bolgatanga with Future4Africa has undoubtedly been one of the best of my life. It wasn't just volunteering; it was a profoundly transformative experience that has stayed with me for the rest of my life. From the very first moment, I felt welcomed by Samuel and his entire team. They are incredible people, always approachable, attentive, and willing to help in any way needed. Their commitment to the organization and the warmth with which they treat each volunteer make you feel like part of the family from day one. During my stay, I had the opportunity to do an internship at the Bolgatanga hospital, which was a very enriching experience. I was able to learn a great deal, get to know the local healthcare system firsthand, and collaborate, as much as possible, with the professionals there. In addition, we spent the afternoons with the children of the community, one of the most special parts of volunteering. Spending time with them, playing, learning together, and seeing their joy and energy was truly unforgettable. I felt completely safe at all times, something I consider essential when you decide to have an experience like this far from home. They were attentive to us at all times so we could relax and focus on enjoying ourselves, learning, and contributing. The work they do in the Ghanaian community is absolutely fundamental. Their impact is real and noticeable in the daily lives of the people they work with. Being part of a project like this, even for a short time, changes your perspective on the world. Without a doubt, it has been an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone. I'm taking away lessons, memories, and people who will always be with me. I know for sure that in the future I would love to return to Bolgatanga and reconnect with this community and this very special team.
Amazing Community Experience
April 15, 2026by: Sara De Antonio - SpainProgram: Health Assistant and Medical Support
One of the best experiences of my life. Truly like being at home away from home. During my time with Future for Africa, I had the opportunity to contribute directly to their healthcare project, which made the experience even more meaningful and impactful. From supporting community health initiatives to engaging with local families, every moment felt purposeful and deeply rewarding. What stands out most is that your role is only limited by your imagination, there’s so much space to contribute, learn, and grow. The entire Future for Africa team is incredibly attentive, always ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that you feel supported and comfortable. The country itself is beautiful, and the people are warm, welcoming, and kind. I always felt safe and at ease. Having been there twice already, I can confidently say I’ll be back again.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
What inspired me to work for my organization is my direct experience with the challenges faced by underserved communities in northern Ghana. Growing up, I saw how limited access to education, healthcare, and opportunities affected people’s lives. This motivated me to be part of a solution rather than a bystander.
