The people at Maximo Nivel are incredibly helpful and provide an amazing experience. My host family was super nice and was super fun getting to live and work with people my age. The food provided was super good and had hot showers.
The Vive Peru volunteer experience exceeded my expectations!
July 12, 2026Cristobal Reyes Cuevas - United StatesProvider: Vive Peru
Volunteering with Vive Peru has been one of the best decisions I have taken in my life. Since day 1 of the program, the coordinators and staff are dedicates to your well being and cultural immersion in a new country. You are exposed to different aspects of the culture that allows you to develop a sense of appreciation for it. Working at the clinical site opened my mind to develop clinical thinking skills and taught me valuable lessons on how it is to practice medicine in an under-resourced setting, on how to deliver compassionate care and exposed me to the basics on how to make independent clinical decisions.
Business graduate from Paris

Program: GAC Career Launch: Paid Internship Program in China
As a business graduate from Paris, I wanted international experience before starting my career. GAC placed me with a consulting firm in Beijing's central business district. From week one, I was helping with market research, client presentations, and strategy meetings. My mentor taught me how Chinese business culture works – fast, direct, and relationship-driven. The team handled my visa, found me a great apartment, and checked in regularly. Three months later, I landed a job in international business back in France. My China experience was the main topic in every interview. Worth every euro.
AFS(particularly in France) lacks support for students

Program: AFS Intercultural Programs: High School Abroad in France
My time in France was absolutely beautiful, I loved it and I would do it again 100 times, just with a different organization. While I was in France, there was no support for harsh times and host family abuse/toxicity, Many other AFSers who came to france this year have said the same—changing families is insanely difficult because AFS takes the side of the family, leaving a lack of support for the student. On the other hand, I learned so much about myself on this program. I fell in love, I became fluent in French, I have a university program chosen already, this program has really made me fall in love with the world around me, and I will forever be grateful. I just wish AFS was there for me more (Sorry if the wording of this is confusing, i’m still getting used to speaking english) I will forever cherish this time I spent abroad!!!

I really loved my experience. I was scared of coming here alone but I met some really cool people and made some great memories. So I was never alone. The staff and my teacher were great. I’ll be back!

We had an amazing time and the Maximo Nivel is really helpful! They answered all our questions and kept in contact throughout our trip! We stayed at Finca Garúa and helped cut down banana trees and construct the garage!

Program: Spanish Immersion Programs | Learn Spanish in Latin America
I had two different Spanish teachers throughout my 7 weeks - Angie and Dulce. Both were amazing teachers and I learned so much! I learned not only lots of Spanish grammar, Guatemalan slang words, and conjugations, but also about the culture and history of Antigua and the Guatemalan people. The classes were always so much fun! Thank you Maximo Nivel!

My time in Sapporo was great! Thanks to the teachers and fellow students that helped make this experience wonderful. I wish I could have stayed longer but after two weeks it was time for me to say sayonara.
Amazing Spanish Immersion Experience!

Máximo Nivel offered a wonderful Spanish immersion experience in San Jose, Costa Rica. The staff are incredibly friendly and the entire institute is very well organized. The methods used in class really encourage conversation and useful practice of your linguistic skills. Within even just the first few days of my program, I felt as though I was already breaking down the barrier in my language learning journey. If you’re interested in immersing yourself in the Spanish language, Máximo Nivel is a must!
