Teach Confidently with this 10-Hour Practicum Course

The teaching practicum with Michelle Benson was great. The material was succinct and loaded with various ways to teach English as someone who is not new to teaching, but new to teaching a language. Michelle made the experience fun as well as informative. I also appreciate her encouraging words since I was actually quite nervous at the start.

Great experience completing the 10-hour Virtual TEFL course. The tutor, Michelle Benson, absolutely made the course. She has such positive energy, is incredibly encouraging, and explains everything very clearly. The lessons are well structured and especially helpful for people who have never taught before. One thing worth noting is that the "10-hour" course actually consists of 7 hours of live teaching (2 × 3.5-hour sessions). The remaining 3 hours are allocated to preparing and completing the homework. My advice would be to leave at least a day's gap between the sessions if possible. For people who work full-time, it can be quite difficult to find enough time to prepare properly for the following day's lesson.

It was a fantastic experience. Michelle Benson made teaching methodologies become real life practical experience, making the classroom a relaxed and fun filled experience for both teachers and learners. I am glad I took the chance.

I had a lovely experience with my tutor Michelle Benson! The structure of the course is clear; it's great for anyone who wants a more hands-on TEFL experience. I got to apply some of the methods I've been learning in the 180-hour TEFL course in a real classroom setting. Ms. Benson was an absolute delight: she was very joyful, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I would advise all TEFL learners to take this course so as to get an opportunity to apply the theories learned in the 120/180/300-hour course!

The 10-hour practical course was awesome! Not a single minute of the entire course was boring. I have just finished the 180 hour Level 5 course. I found the material really good and it was straightforward enough to work through. The weekly Zoom meetings were really useful whenever I was stuck and needed extra support with a few of the topics. Whether you are coming from a teaching background or have never taught English before, I would definitely recommend doing one of the TEFL Ireland courses. My next step is starting the 30 hour teaching online course so I feel more confident and ready for teaching online.

I have just finished the 30 hour Teaching Online course and it has been a really solid, detailed introduction. There was so much useful information, and plenty to think about afterwards too. Choosing the TEFL Institute of Ireland for my diploma turned out to be a really good move, because they are a genuinely helpful and honest company. And the virtual classroom sessions with Teacher Michelle Benson just made it even better. She is completely professional, and she knows exactly how to deliver the information in a way that clicks. I only signed up for the 300 hours course a few days ago, so I am still right at the start of my TEFL journey, but everything has been positive so far. She got back to me quickly and was incredibly helpful, explaining the different course options, pointing me toward the course or courses that would suit me best, and offering lots of extra advice on the practicalities and ins and outs of doing a TEFL course.

I am really happy I finished my 120 Hour TEFL course through The TEFL Institute of Ireland. Everything in the course is put together well, and whenever you need support there is always someone on hand, with staff quick and willing to answer any questions. Another big plus is that the certificate is verifiable and backed by UK regulatory bodies. I would absolutely suggest this institute to anyone ready to move forward with their TEFL journey.

What I liked most about the TEFL Institute was how adaptable the courses are and how much material they give you to work with. Between the flexibility and the huge amount of resources, I was able to build on my TEFL knowledge and also pick up certification in specialty courses.

Update: I have now finished the 10 hour Teaching Methodologies course with Kate, and I really enjoyed it. If I was missing any confidence going into it, the small group set up and the way the course was structured complemented the Level 5 certification perfectly. We focused on the core skills new teachers actually need, and we also got to try them out ourselves without feeling pressured. Kate clearly knows what she is doing and offered helpful, constructive feedback so we could improve, while also reminding us not to obsess over every little thing as long as we learn from what goes wrong. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I recently completed the online Level 5 TEFL Certification course, along with the Business English and Online Teaching add ons. It felt fairly middle of the road to me, and since my main aim was simply to get certified, the TEFL Institute of Ireland did deliver on that. Still, I was frustrated by how many typos and errors showed up in the course materials and even in the exam questions. In my opinion, the program needs a proper, thorough review so those issues can be corrected. Trying to learn how to teach through something that came across as a bit messy and not very professional made me start doubting the content, and I found myself counting down until it was finished. The price is reasonable and there are plenty of optional specialty courses you can add to what you start with, but with so many TEFL providers out there, I honestly cannot say if I would recommend this one over a different school.

The 10-hour Virtual TEFL course on classroom methodologies is the missing piece for anyone who wants to be an effective teacher. I went into this course unsure about my teaching abilities and within the first hour, I knew I was in the right place. From refreshers on grammar structures and awareness, tips on teaching pronunciation, to the expository PPP method of teaching and teaching practice, it is a fully immersive course crafted to make great teachers.
