Asia Internship Program

I did a 4 month internship in Tokyo through AIP which was a once in a lifetime experience. From the start of the application process, the AIP team were extremely helpful in finding me a relevant internship based on my interests and career aspirations. When I was Japan they stayed in touch and were there to help with any issues. I would like to especially thank Airi and Kate for their support! I did a digital marketing and PR internship which allowed me to be involved and take ownership of a wide range of tasks throughout my internship period. I definitely learned a lot! My program also included a tour and I got the chance to visit Mt. Fuji and Kamakura which were amazing. Also through my company I was able to experience traditional Japanese cultural activities such as tea ceremonies and flower arraigning classes which I had never done before! It was always a dream of mine to try living and working in Japan and through the AIP program this was made possible. I would definitely recommend AIP to anyone who is looking to gain international work experience.

With AIP’s support, I was able to enjoy a rare opportunity to live in Japan for half a year on an internship. During my time there, it was relatively fuss-free and I knew who to turn to in case of any issues cropping up. It was a good time to be in Japan, and my three-month internship was a steady and informative experience overall. During this time, I was able to observe how a professional work environment operates on a day-to-day basis. I became more familiar with workplace expectations, communication styles, and the general structure of a company. The experience gave me a better understanding of how tasks are organized and how teams work together to complete them. Throughout the internship, I developed professional skills such as time management, organization, and communication. I also had the chance to see how cultural differences can influence the way people interact and approach their work. Outside of the workplace, being in Japan allowed me to experience a different culture and environment. This added to the overall experience and made the internship more memorable. I was able to explore new places, try different foods, and gain a broader perspective. Overall, the internship was a solid learning experience. It gave me general exposure to a professional setting and helped me better understand what to expect in future work environments.
