great experience
August 26, 2026by: braedan viana - CanadaAIP provided excellent support throughout my internship experience in Hong Kong. From the beginning, the process was organized, clear, and much less stressful because the team was available to answer questions and provide guidance. Moving to another country for an internship can feel overwhelming, especially when you are balancing travel arrangements, housing, workplace expectations, and adapting to a new city, but AIP made the transition much easier. The communication was one of the strongest parts of the experience. I always felt that I had a clear point of contact if I needed help or had a question. The team was responsive, professional, and supportive throughout the program. They helped make sure I understood what to expect before arriving and continued to provide support while I was in Hong Kong. That gave me confidence and allowed me to focus more on learning from the internship itself. The placement gave me a valuable opportunity to experience a professional workplace in an international environment. I was able to develop practical skills, improve my confidence, and gain a better understanding of how professional work is done outside of the classroom. Living and working in Hong Kong was also a meaningful part of the experience. It pushed me to become more independent, adapt to a different environment, and learn how to navigate daily life in a fast-paced global city. I also appreciated that the program was not only about completing an internship. It gave me the chance to grow personally as well as professionally. I learned how to communicate in a workplace, manage responsibilities, work with different people, and become more comfortable in unfamiliar situations. Those are skills that will be useful in future internships, university, and my career. Overall, I am very grateful for the opportunity and for the support AIP provided throughout the process. The experience was well organized, worthwhile, and memorable. I would recommend AIP to students who are looking for an overseas internship and want the support of a team that is helpful, professional, and committed to making the experience run smoothly

My Seoul, My Soul
December 08, 2025by: Vu Quynh Nhi Nguyen - VietnamMy internship in South Korea through AIP was genuinely unforgettable. From the very beginning, the AIP team made the whole process smooth by staying in touch, offering guidance, and making sure I always knew what to expect. I also loved that they arranged meetups and activities that allowed us to explore Korea beyond just our workplace. The program was thoughtfully structured and gave me the chance to grow both professionally and personally. During my time in Korea, I was able to learn so much about the culture and enjoy many great moments with my company and colleagues. It’s an experience I truly appreciate. I’d definitely recommend AIP to anyone looking to gain real international work experience in a supportive environment.
I had a great time in Seoul!

Hong Kong Journey 2023
December 14, 2023by: Virginia Terry - IrelandMy recent internship experience in Hong Kong, facilitated by AIP (Asia Internship Program), has been an exceptional chapter in my professional development. From the outset, AIP demonstrated a commitment to providing a well-rounded and enriching experience, combining professional growth with cultural immersion. The comprehensive support provided, coupled with the vibrant professional and cultural landscape of Hong Kong, has left an indelible mark on my professional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend AIP to any aspiring intern seeking a transformative experience that seamlessly integrates professional growth and cultural exploration.
Thankful for Hong Kong and it's beauty!
February 22, 2021by: Fred Benden - United KingdomI'm happy that I took the opportunity to do an internship while I'm still here in Hong Kong due to the pandemic and it's all with the help of AIP. It was sort of hard because I couldn't go into the office everyday but it was still fine because I made use of my time while I was here. Very grateful for the opportunity and I'm looking for more!
Wonderful Hong Kong
April 22, 2019by: Eliza Williams - United KingdomDue to such a deep historical connection between Britain and Hong Kong, this country was always a big interest of mine. Of course, without any doubt, Hong Kong became one of the fastest growing economies in the Asian region, and this fact just boosted my interest even more. When we had a chance to take a term off in our University I and my friend decided that we need to do something useful and take a bit of a rest from University life (classroom life specifically). Surfing around different gap year programmes we bumped into the programme that consequently was AIP. Asia Internship Programme looked pretty attractive, I''m slightly ashamed to say that I really liked the logo because it's purple, an me and my friend both love purple (actually this is how we became friends but that whole different story). So partyl because of the logo that caught our attention we started doing more and more research about the programme and contacting other participants to check the credibility and get real feedback. Both of us went through the interview stage that was, in fact, more as a conversation than an interview, where we explained all of our expectations and reasons behind the application. AIP staff came back to us within a week and informed that we were accepted into the buddy programme. We asked if it is possible to get an internship in the same company however AIP highly recommended to be in different placements which we weren't thrilled about but it was a blessing in disguise because we studied different things. My internship itself was very tough, in terms of the amount of work and new knowledge that I’ve learned during that period. Before this programme, it always annoyed me the way employers ask for “working experience” consistently, and University degree is not enough to secure the position in any company, and only after the internship with AIP I realized that it is a whole different world, with different rules, priorities, and people. Would like to say thank you to every AIP that made my internship in Hong Kong real and hope that the programme will grow and cover not only Asia in the future.
Great service
January 20, 2019by: Garry M - United StatesMy passion and heart always belong to finance and the stock market since I remember myself. It boosted even more after I read the book "The Financier" by Theodore Dreiser. I was always considering Hong Kong as a heart of the financial industry in Asia if not in the whole world. Unfortunately, in school, there were no subjects related to finance and financial markets but after my graduation, without any hesitation, I have applied only to financial programs in all of the universities close to me in California. And here I am the third year student looking for an internship opportunity in Hong Kong but the competition is so high that it is almost impossible to even go through the first stage of the interview. So I've started outreaching to internship programs so they can assist me in finding a placement. One of the fastest and efficient was Asia Internship Program. The staff who was in touch with me was always in touch and keep me updated. The whole process took me about 2 months to get everything done, so my personal suggestion to everyone who wants to join the program will be to apply at least 2-3 months before the day you would like to start. Asia Internship Program scheduled 2 interviews for me in the raw but even after the first one I was already sure that I will go with the first one. When I arrived in Hong Kong all of my expectations were not just exceeded but over the moon. People in the company was extremely friendly and welcoming. They provided me with all responsibilities I was expecting to have and my supervisor who become my mentor later, whom I am forever grateful gave me the same amount of experience I got from my 3 years of University. Right now I am back at my University and waiting for my graduation ceremony, just to get my diploma and fly back to Hong Kong with the first flight.
My internship in Hong Kong
November 08, 2018by: Gary Glassman - United StatesFrom the moment I was accepted into the AIP program until the end of my internship, AIP were very attentive to all my questions and needs. For their prices, they do offer pretty good services. They don’t only help you find an internship in one of their cities, they also help you with everything else including your visa, your apartment, transport in the city, etc. etc. or any other questions you might have. For example, I was in Hong Kong for 6 months, and Meadhbh made sure to check up on me at least once a month to make sure I was doing ok and that I wasn’t experiencing any problems whether in my internship or just in general. It was good to know that I always had help if I needed!
Great internship!
November 05, 2018by: Jessica Adams - United KingdomI had a positive experience with AIP and their Hong Kong internship program. They were very efficient in finding me an internship of my liking. Why I chose AIP was because of their customisable internships. From experience, internship programs in companies were never what I expected them to be. In my last two internships, the majority of my time was spent doing menial, administrative tasks for my supervisor. Though they were great opportunities for me to see how the business worked, it was not what I applied to do. I applied to AIP wanting to work in business development. In the interview with AIP, I made it clear that I wanted to work in a company that would allow me to sit in on presentations, work with clients, and work closely with a supervisor who would trust me enough to assist on business projects. AIP then matched me with a company that let me do just that. It was also very useful to have my accommodation already arranged. As a part of AIP’s packages, I was able to choose the option of having a place to stay already prepared. So, I didn’t have to worry about finding somewhere to live for the 4 months I was in Hong Kong. Dennis, who took care of my AIP application, was very responsive throughout my whole application process. If I had any questions, Dennis was very quick to respond and very clear in the information given.
Exploring Hong Kong
October 28, 2018by: Scott Lee - United StatesI went to Hong Kong to finished off the last of my credits for University, and thought it was going to be a horrible experience as i didn't know anyone or spoke the language, But it turned out to be one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. The work was amazing and the people i worked with were very accommodating to my questions and my opinions, This internship made me really feel like packing my bags and moving to Hong Kong full time. My free time in Hong Kong was me exploring the back streets of kowloon and finding the best places to eat. I would recommend anyone who is looking for an experience that gets them out of their comfort zone to try Hong Kong and hit up all the food spots.
My review of AIP's Hong Kong internship program
October 24, 2018by: Lorena Thomas - SwedenI really enjoyed my time in Hong Kong! I was so happy to spend time working for the company as a finance intern. I learned how investment works, how to make forecastings as well as managing the database of the financial prospects for the company. Hong Kong is a very busy and chaotic city during peak-time, so the company was pretty flexible with my working hours. I could arrive to the office at a non fixed time and sometimes even did home office, as long as I covered my 8 hours work time. I was so happy with the environment of the office. People was so curious to know more about me and my culture; they used to share with me their traditional food and customs. I traveled around China as well as it’s very close to Hong Kong. This experience has opened my eyes to see the business world in Asian markets in different ways I didn’t imagine before. The service AIP provided me was what I expected, although the accommodation was a bit far from my working place, I still had the subway nearby to commute. AIP introduced me to some networking events in the city, so I went to some of them which allowed me to meet more people from the finance industry and I got to learn more of their real experiences as executives. This is definitely a experience I will try again in the near future, as it gave me so much satisfaction personally and professionally
King Hong Kong!
October 18, 2018by: Marisa Pitzele - United StatesI spent the past 3 months interning in Hong Kong with the most lovely video production company. So I kind of had a different career path than most people. I'm actually studying psychology back in the states but I have this other passion for story telling and creating videos. I haven't had any education or professional work experiences within videography. Most of my past works have come from just random videos that I created with my DSLR and edited with iMovie. It was so difficult to find any internships here in the states without any work experience and I didn't really have a portfolio. Thats when I came across AIP online when I was just searching around and saw that they offered Video internships and thats when I applied. During the interview I was a bit concerned because I thought it would be more of the same because I didn't have any real experience. But AIP I guess saw how passionate I was and they found me a great boutique video production company for me in Hong Kong. Yeah I chose to go to Hong Kong because I wanted to experience big city life, since I'm originally from Utah. I had such a great time during my internship and was able to learn so much. Honestly there were things that I didn't even consider about this industry such as audio, lighting, visuals, angles, equipment, etc. For me I thought it was all about editing (which is a huge part) but my supervisor really gave me a full rounded experience. In the last month of my internship I was able to take part in a project from start to finish. So storyboarding, sketching, pre-productions, sound checks, lighting checks, actual film production, and editing. We had a real estate client that needed us to film a tour of a new condominium and that was such a cool opporutnity. I'm very pleased that AIP was able to place me with such a cool company. The only problems that I faced were trying to find my own accommodation and getting to work. I chose the placement package which was the cheapest option but then I had to find my own place. I was kinda shocked how expensive the living costs were in Hong Kong but I managed to find something on the outskirts of the city. This was a pain because my commute took around an hour everyday. In the end I think I ended up paying more than if I went with the standard package because I had to pay my own wifi and a lot of additional transportation costs. That was probably the thing I didn't enjoy but my whole experience was fun. I met some great people at work and made some great friends outside of work also. I'm very pleased with AIP and would totally recommend them to anyone. I kinda wanted to try their Thailand program too but maybe next year hehe.
My first time in Asia
October 10, 2018by: Sophie Berger - FranceMy time in Hong Kong was really great. I met so many new people and got to see something very different. I think that AIP did a really good job in finding me an internship position that included my start time and industry. My industry was marketing, my role was mainly marketing to the European market, my placement was in an import export shipping company that had a lot of international clients. My boyfriend got a job in Hong Kong and I thought it was a great opportunity to get experience, I feel like I improved some English and also got to spend the summer period with my boyfriend. Hong Kong is very expensive, it is good that I could live with my boyfriend because I could not afford it otherwise. I am not such a big fan of the food in Hong Kong, it’s nice once a week but not so much every day, the food and the language barrier were the hardest things for me but I don’t want to paint Hong Kong in a bad light, I had an amazing time there
Culinary adventure in Hong Kong
October 08, 2018by: Madison Grey - United KingdomHong Kong is a beautiful country, especially at night. I had a great time interning there. I did not face any language barrier since most of my colleagues spoke fluent English. I got to explore the Chinese culture which I really enjoyed. It was colorful, loud, and the best of all was the food. I got to taste Shark fin soup which I didn’t like much to be honest, but it was a part of my experience. Traveling to work was a bit like a war since the MRT would usually be really packed in the morning and evening hours. There were times when I reached my workplace late. However, the Chinese people in Hong Kong were really friendly and helpful during the time I was adjusting to this new country. My stay here has been very comfortable, I chose the standard package and AIP had very well arranged everything for me before I arrived. I am glad I took this opportunity and now I am looking forward to building my career here.
Time in Hong Kong
October 04, 2018by: Aarav Saluja - IndiaI have only ever lived in India and Canada. I applied to the AIP programme in Hong Kong because I was interested in learning and seeing something new. I am thankful to AIP for sorting out my visa related issue which is complicated considering my passport. Hong Kong was not as I have imagined. Almost everyone can speak English which is convent for me as I do not have anyone I know that can I know. My internship was valuable to me as I know what I lack and I gained guidance.
2 months in Hong Kong
September 14, 2018by: Amanda Goldstein - United KingdomIt was a great experience to have worked in Hong Kong. Having an international internship and getting international work experience is something that is defiantly underrated! I initially thought about doing an internship in Asia to do something productive during my summer whilst taking the opportunity to travel to a part of the world I have never seen before! Being a BA Economics student, I chose to do my internship in economics in Hong Kong considering it being one of the highest growing economies in the world! Not to mention, so close to all the countries I wanted to visit - mainland China, Thailand, and Vietnam! The travel benefits were great, and I defiantly had the opportunity to easily travel to all the countries I wanted to go to, but I never though the internship itself would be so eye opening! The world is so diverse with so many cultures to get to know and learn from. Learning more about the economy of the Eastern world, first had, has defiantly expanded my knowledge of my degree and I believe it has been so beneficial to my studies after coming back to finish my final year. AIP's services are also something I would recommend. It was much easier to find as internship with them, and they were really helpful with their visa assistance when I was applying for m visa to intern in Hong Kong. Not only this, but even when I was already in Hong Kong, they continued to check up on me to make sure everything was going okay. I did not feel lost and alone during my time living in a foreign country, Something I think they can improve on perhaps to organize more social gatherings for all AIP interns to get together to get to know each other. Though the ones they did organize during my 2 months in Hong Kong were lots of fun anyways! It defiantly is a great community. I would recommend my friends and everyone I know to apply to AIP if they are thinking of doing an internship in Asia!
Fashion/lifestyle journalism in HK
July 16, 2018by: Emilia Müller - ChinaI have wanted to become a journalist since I began reading the Princess Diaries when I was 11 years old. I began writing for the school paper since joining high-school in freshmen year, also starting my own fashion and lifestyle blog online. But I didn’t think this was enough. I’m half Chinese and my dad’s American. I noticed my mom would incorporate Asian styles into her sense of fashion, sometimes wearing Mandarin style shirts and flowy, pleated skirts. Because of her sense of fashion and her mixture of styles, I became really interested in the world of fashion. Not only what the latest trends are, but how it evolved, as well as how and why different cultures prefer different types of styles. I wanted to expand my knowledge in a worldly manner, not only limiting myself to Western culture and American preferences. Even though my mom is Chinese, we never really visited her home country. Both her parents migrated to America when she was really young, and apparently they never kept in touch with their relatives in Canton. So I’ve never visited China. But I loved my mom’s sense of style, I wanted to know where she got the inspiration from, and I wanted to learn more about my own heritage. The most I’ve learned about China was from talking to my grand-mother, who rarely dressed in things other than Chinese-looking traditional-ware (mom probably got her mixed sense of style from grand-mother). I discovered AIP when looking for internships in China. AIP helped me find a journalism internship in Hong Kong, in a lifestyle magazine firm. I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect! Even though I was initially set on wanting to do an internship in fashion journalism, the magazine firm I had been placed in allowed me to explore topics I never would have gotten into before. It was exactly what I wanted when looking to do an internship abroad. I wanted to gain some work experience, but at the same time experience it in a different culture. I learned more during my 3 months in Hong Kong than I have in my 2 years in college. I’m going back now to finish up my junior and senior year, but I’m really hoping to come back to Hong Kong one day for work. Or maybe even explore other parts of Asia to experience even more cultures! I would recommend signing up with AIP if you were thinking of interning abroad. Especially for everyone who have never travelled to the country of their interests before. They’re more than just an agency that helps you find internships, they actually provide services that help you transition and settle into the city. From the beginning of your internship, until your last day, AIP makes sure that you are safe, comfortable, and having fun. They helped me find somewhere to stay for the 3 months I was to be in Hong Kong, they kept me updated of all the latest news, and they even invited me to a bunch of fun events where I met a whole bunch of important people! Networking events are definitely a great place to get to know interesting people, to widen the network of people you know, who may even be beneficial to you and your potential businesses in the long run! I don’t think you would be getting the same level of service anywhere else…
