Internship in Taiwan - Asia Internship Program

I spent 2 months abroad in Taipei, Taiwan through AIP, and it was a really positive experience! I had some issues with my original internship placement, but my team was incredibly responsive! I really appreciate Jeff, Roro, and Nisha’s support and help throughout the process. With their help and flexibility, I was placed with another company very quickly. The transition process was fast and smooth, and I couldn't be more happy with my internship. Moreover, my living accommodations through AIP were excellent. I was close to transportation and the neighborhood was very peaceful. I'm extremely grateful to the AIP team for their help.

I had a great time here in Taiwan with the internship from AIP. Everyone was very kind and the food was good here. I learned a lot from my host company and would highly recommend this program to my peers 10/10 experience for sure.

My experience with Asia Internship Program was amazing from start to finish. I had very specific requirements for my internship, including finding an unpaid position that was longer than 8 weeks and focused on nonprofit or legal work rather than English teaching. While the placement process took some time, Jeff Oo was incredibly professional and reassuring throughout the process. He was honest about updates, never gave false hope, and made sure he was finding opportunities that were truly the right fit for me rather than rushing the process. Once I arrived in Taiwan, Nisha Shahi and Roro Lee were also incredibly supportive. Nisha helped arrange my transportation to and from the airport, answered my questions quickly when I was settling into my accommodation, and regularly checked in to make sure I was doing well. Their support made moving to a new country feel much less overwhelming. The internship itself exceeded my expectations, and I felt welcomed and comfortable as a queer Black student. I’m incredibly grateful for the care, professionalism, and effort the AIP team put into making this experience successful. I would highly recommend Asia Internship Program to any student looking for an international internship experience!

My internship experience in Taiwan was a very fulfilling one. Having the chance to work with local colleagues on various projects gave me a different perspective that extended far beyond what I was used to in Singapore. There is a difference between visiting a country as a tourist and actually living and working there. AIP provided me with the safety net and opportunity to navigate an international workplace without feeling completely on my own. Throughout the internship, they regularly checked in on us to make sure we were settling in well. What I appreciated most was that AIP went beyond simply arranging an internship. They organized meetups for us to get to know other interns, giving us the opportunity to bond while exploring different parts of Taiwan, including cities like Tainan, Taichung. These experiences allowed me to appreciate Taiwan's culture, beauty, and nature beyond the workplace. Overall, I grew both professionally and personally, gaining valuable work experience while becoming more confident and independent. My past 10 weeks in Taiwan has been one for the books! I’m very grateful for the support from AIP, from the company placement to the pre-departure process. I appreciate the team (Nisha and Roro) for being responsive to my queries. It’s my first time being immersed in a Chinese-speaking workplace. Despite language challenges, I enjoyed interacting with the colleagues in my company. It is through conversations with the local Taiwanese where I got to immerse myself in their culture. If you’re keen to work overseas and gain professional experience (and hone your foreign language ability), I highly recommend applying to AIP. Just give it a shot!

My five-week internship in Taiwan was honestly an experience I’ll never forget. Not only did I learn a lot through hands-on work and real-world experience, but I also got to see sides of Taiwan that I definitely wouldn’t have discovered as a tourist. From everyday work culture to local routines and conversations, the internship gave me a behind-the-scenes look at life in Taiwan that made the experience feel truly special. I met so many inspiring people along the way (taiwan people are genuinely so friendly and warm) and had plenty of opportunities to network, learn from professionals, and build meaningful connections that I know will be valuable in the future. On top of all that, I had a lot of fun — whether it was exploring the city after work, trying new food, going to concerts, exploring might clubs. Overall, this internship was the perfect mix of learning, growth, and enjoyment, and it left me with great memories, new skills, and a much deeper appreciation for Taiwan

No regrets taking this leap of faith to join AIP x NTU Taiwan program! I had a rewarding internship experience with real work exposure and supportive mentors. The program made adapting overseas smooth while helping me grow professionally and culturally.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in the ASEAN Internship Programme, as the entire process was well-organised and thoughtfully managed. The team was consistently accommodating, responsive, and supportive, ensuring that queries and concerns were addressed promptly at every stage. Communication regarding the application and onboarding timeline was clear and timely, which made the experience smooth and reassuring. Their professionalism and efficiency greatly reduced uncertainty and allowed me to focus on preparing for the internship with confidence. My winter internship in Taipei with AIP was great and an invaluable experience; I worked with a great host company and made lots of memories with all of my new friends. My favourite parts of the experience would be my friends and I exploring Taipei and other parts of Taiwan during our free time and hanging out together after work. I am grateful to be allocated to a great company with a supportive team and environment as well. Taiwan is also a great place for exploring both food and nature, highly recommend.

Very fun experience in Taiwan interning and exploring by myself. I made many new friends here and I learned to be more independent. I had the chance to try out many new food and also travel out of Taipei.
