Vietnamese Language Programs

When my parents first told me we were going to take Vietnamese lessons while traveling in Saigon, I was honestly dreading it so much. I already go to regular school all day, so the absolute last thing I wanted to do was sit in another boring classroom during my free time, memorizing weird words from a giant textbook while my friends were out having fun. But I am writing this review because going to LTL Language School was actually the complete opposite of what I expected, and I literally ended up loving it so much! The whole vibe at the school is just really cool and not stressful at all. My teacher was a funny girl and she was seriously the best teacher I have ever had. I was super nervous on the first day because Vietnamese sounds really hard with all the different tones, and I was scared I was going to sound silly or embarrass myself. But the second she walked in, she made a random joke and created these made up characters to learn with, and I immediately knew the class was going to be fun. She just had this super bubbly and hilarious personality that made you actually want to pay attention. She didn’t treat me like a little kid, but she also didn’t make it super strict and serious like my normal school classes. The thing I loved the absolute most was how she actually taught us the new words. Instead of just writing a super long list of vocabulary on the whiteboard and making me copy them down and read it out loud, she used all these amazing illustrations to go along with the vocabs as well. Every time we had to learn a new word, there was a cute or funny drawing to go with it. Like, when we were learning the words for different animals and food, she had these flashcards with the funniest cartoon pictures on them. There was this one illustration of a creature call zebranana that made me laugh so hard, and I still remember that the word "cá ngựa chuối" just because of that drawing! Sometimes she would even draw things on the board herself, and she would purposely make them look goofy so we would remember them better. It made learning the vocabulary feel way more like reading a comic book or playing a fun game than actually studying. I am a very visual person, so seeing the pictures right next to the words helped me memorize them so much faster. I even started doodling my own little pictures in my notebook next to my vocabulary lists, and she totally encouraged it and would even give me funny ideas for what to draw next. She was also so, so helpful when it came to practicing speaking. Vietnamese tones are honestly really tricky, and sometimes my voice would go up when it was supposed to go down, and I would accidentally say something completely wrong. But she never ever made me feel bad about it. If I messed up, she would just laugh with me—not at me—and then we would practice saying it together slowly until I finally got it right. She would make up these funny little rhythms or hand motions to help me remember which way my voice was supposed to go, and we would just sit there repeating them and giggling. She made practicing feel like hanging out with an older sister rather than taking a test. She would also ask me about my day and my hobbies, and then teach me the words for the things I actually cared about, like my favorite food or activity or how to put those in a sentence, instead of just making me learn random words I would never actually use in real life. By the time my course was over, I was actually really sad to leave. I can literally go to the local convenience store now and buy my own snacks, or say thank you and hello to the guards at our apartment building, and they always look so surprised and happy when I speak to them! I feel so much more confident living in Vietnam now. If you are a kid or a teenager and your parents are making you learn Vietnamese, tell them to sign you up at LTL Saigon. It is actually so much fun, the teachers are incredibly nice and funny, and you will learn so much without even feeling like you are doing homework. I had the greatest time and I really hope I get to go back and take more classes with her soon! Cảm ơn LTL và cảm ơn cô giáo !

I really like this experience, the teachers, and facility. First of all, I like the morning Vietnamese learning because my female teacher makes it’s very fun. Second of all, she also introduces a lot of the basic conversation topics. Next of all, I like the afternoon activities because my male teacher is very chill and takes us to cool activities. Another reason is because the facility is very peaceful during learning and very peaceful. If you plan to go here the experience is very fun and has a lot of things you can for activities and learning!

As a student at LTL School Saigon, I have had an amazing experience learning in such a welcoming and supportive environment. The teachers are incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable, always making lessons enjoyable and easy to understand. They encourage students to ask questions and provide personalized guidance, which has helped me improve my language skills much faster than I expected. One of my favorite things about the school is the interactive teaching style. Instead of only using textbooks, we practice speaking in real-life situations, making learning both fun and practical. The small class sizes allow every student to participate and receive individual attention, which has greatly increased my confidence. The staff are always friendly and willing to help whenever students need assistance. The classrooms are clean, comfortable, and well equipped, creating a positive atmosphere where learning feels enjoyable. I also appreciate the cultural activities organized by the school, as they allow students to experience Vietnamese culture while improving their language skills. Overall, I highly recommend LTL School Saigon to anyone who wants to learn Vietnamese. The combination of excellent teachers, engaging lessons, supportive staff, and a welcoming community makes it an outstanding place to study. My experience here has been both enjoyable and rewarding, and I am truly grateful for everything I have learned.

Afgelopen week heb ik lessen gevolgd bij LTL in Saigon. Voorheen had ik lessen via Preply, maar hier leer je zoveel meer! Ik raad het iedereen aan die serieus Vietnamees wil leren. Het is absoluut een 10/10!

Learning Vietnamese with Linh was a fantastic experience. She made every lesson engaging and tailored everything to my goals. I had a wonderful experience during my two-week language course in Hanoi with my two teachers, chị Hien and em Linh! The course was incredibly enriching. Both teachers were extremely friendly, dedicated, and always helpful. They created a pleasant learning environment where I always felt comfortable and well supported, and they also addressed my individual learning needs. In my 1:1 course with em Linh, we not only practiced reading but also talked about Vietnamese culture in depth, which I found particularly enriching. This also helped me improve my speaking skills and gain more confidence when speaking. I also received additional learning materials, for which I am very grateful. 💗 I gained so much from the vietnamese course, both academically and personally, and I am very grateful to both of them for this wonderful experience! I am studying Vietnamese at LTL in Hanoi. I am doing one-on-one classes. My teacher Jasmine is patient and instructive, we go through the lessons at a pace that meets my needs as a beginner. I am enjoying my time here and am getting a lot out of my lessons.

I booked the 1-on-1 Vietnamese learning Course in Hanoi with Jasmine as my teacher. Learning the language is very hard for a complete beginner but Jasmine makes the lessons very fun and helpful and she has a lot of patience!

I had a fantastic experience at LTL School in Saigon. The small group classes were highly effective and helped me make significant progress with my Vietnamese. Most importantly, though, we had a lot of fun throughout the learning process – which made studying even more enjoyable

I had a great time at the LTL! Tri and Tram were very lovely teachers, super friendly and supportive. There were also lots of fun activities outside of class, and I felt really welcome from day one. Even as a near native speaker, I learned a lot, especially in reading and writing. Everyone speaks excellent English, so communication was easy. Definitely recommend!

We did the homestay program and loved it. It was the perfect blend of practical and classroom study! We cannot wait to do it again! The family we stayed with was the sweetest ever. I learned as much out of class as in class!
