LTL Language School | Learn Vietnamese in Vietnam

This is my second summer with LTL. Last year was in Hanoi. The teachers are highly skilled, and the staff takes excellent care of students. In only three weeks, I have gained enough knowledge to continue learning via self-study upon my return home. I recommend both the homestay and Safari options. Living with a Vietnamese family and taking field trips with your teacher will give you cultural insights beyond the classroom. LTL gives lots of bang for the buck!

Ich bin absolut begeistert von dieser Sprachschule! Sowohl der Gruppen- als auch der Einzelunterricht waren hervorragend. Als völliger Anfänger war der Start mit einer neuen Sprache zunächst eine Herausforderung, aber meine Lehrerinnen Thư und Ân haben sich unglaublich viel Mühe gegeben. Ihre Geduld, Engagement und motivierende Art haben mir sehr geholfen, schnell Fortschritte zu machen und Selbstvertrauen zu gewinnen. Besonders gut gefallen haben mir die vielen kleinen Spiele und Rollenspiele im Unterricht. Auch die „Student Safari" war ein tolles Erlebnis! All das hat dafür gesorgt, dass der Unterricht unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht hat, auch wenn 6 Stunden Sprachunterricht pro Tag schon sehr intensiv sind. Ich kann diese Sprachschule, besonders für den Bildungsurlaub, wärmstens empfehlen!

Ich hatte eine sehr gute Zeit in der ltl Sprachschule. Ich habe in der kurzen Zeit viel gelernt. Thư war eine sehr gute Lehrerin. Die gemeinsamen Mittagessen, Workshops und die Spiele haben viel Spaß gemacht. Vielen Dank an alle!

I chose LTL because of the opportunities for intensive classes and activities to interact with other students and natives. I only studied here for 3 weeks, but I think my Vietnamese has improved immensely, giving me the foundation to continue my studies back home. I am deeply appreciative of my teacher, John, who challenged and pushed me. My class was exclusively in Vietnamese and that helped greatly with immersion. 1ヶ月間通わせてもらいましたが、とっても素敵な学校でした！ベトナム語は発音やアクセントがとても難しいですが、先生がとてもわかりやすく教えてくれて、比較的早く単語を習得できました。立地もホーチミン市内にあるのでどの観光地に行くにもアクセスがよかったです。ベトナムはご飯も美味しく、日本人も留学しやすいと思います。ベトナム留学をするなら、この学校がおすすめです☺️非常に貴重な経験になりました。ありがとうございました！！

I honestly thought that taking extra language classes after my regular school day was going to be the most boring thing in the entire world, but studying Vietnamese at LTL Language School in Saigon turned out to be the absolute highlight of my week. When my parents first signed me up, I was picturing a super strict classroom where I would have to stare at a giant textbook and repeat grammar rules until my brain turned to mush. But it was nothing like that at all! My teacher was this really cool, energetic girl who instantly made the classroom feel like a fun hangout spot instead of a boring school. I was super nervous on the first day because Vietnamese sounds really hard with all the different tones, and I was terrified of sounding silly when I tried speaking. But the second she walked in, she just had this super bubbly and hilarious personality that made me actually want to pay attention. She realized right away that sitting still and just reading pages wasn't going to work for me, so she completely changed the way I learned. The whole process was so interactive and packed with so many activities that I usually forgot I was even studying. Instead of giving me long, boring lists of words to memorize, she used the most amazing flashcards to make everything stick in my head. She would bring in these huge stacks of colorful flashcards and we would all make our own flashcards as well. Every time we had to learn a new word, there was a cute or funny drawing to go with it. Because I am a very visual person, seeing the pictures right next to the words helped me memorize them so much faster. I never had to go home and stare at a boring vocabulary list because I could just close my eyes and remember the funny cartoon on the flashcard. She even let me make my own flashcards sometimes, and I would doodle my own little pictures on blank cards with colorful markers. She totally encouraged it and would help me come up with silly ways to draw the new vocabulary words. It made learning the words feel way more like working on a fun art project than actually doing homework. She was always coming up with creative mini-games to make the learning process feel super exciting. We played so many different mini-games that the time always just flew by. One of my favorites was saying a word at the same time as the other, if got different answers we have to make sentence with it. I had to shout the word out loud with the perfect tone to keep the points and to make sure the other said the same thing. Sometimes we played memory games where she would say a word and the rest has to repeat and add more words after, we eventually forget most of them at the end because there were too many , but it was good for the brain to memorize them this way.something using only the Vietnamese words I had already learned. We even played mini-games to help me get the hang of the crazy tones. She made learning fun ! We were constantly laughing, and she never made me feel bad if I forgot a word or messed up a sentence during a game. If I got something wrong, we would just giggle about it, and she would shuffle the flashcards and let me try again. Because of all these fun methods and mini-games, my brain just absorbed the vocabulary so naturally. I actually know how to speak quite a bit of Vietnamese now, and I can confidently order my own drinks or buy my own snacks at the convenience store near my apartment. The whole learning process at LTL was just incredible because my teacher put so much effort into making sure I was always engaged, smiling, and actually enjoying myself. If you are my age and your parents want you to learn the language without feeling like you are trapped in summer school, I really recommend this place because you will end up having the best time while learning so much. When my parents first told me we were going to take Vietnamese lessons while traveling in Saigon, I was honestly dreading it so much. I already go to regular school all day, so the absolute last thing I wanted to do was sit in another boring classroom during my free time, memorizing weird words from a giant textbook while my friends were out having fun. But I am writing this review because going to LTL Language School was actually the complete opposite of what I expected, and I literally ended up loving it so much! The whole vibe at the school is just really cool and not stressful at all. My teacher was a funny girl and she was seriously the best teacher I have ever had. I was super nervous on the first day because Vietnamese sounds really hard with all the different tones, and I was scared I was going to sound silly or embarrass myself. But the second she walked in, she made a random joke and created these made up characters to learn with, and I immediately knew the class was going to be fun. She just had this super bubbly and hilarious personality that made you actually want to pay attention. She didn’t treat me like a little kid, but she also didn’t make it super strict and serious like my normal school classes. The thing I loved the absolute most was how she actually taught us the new words. Instead of just writing a super long list of vocabulary on the whiteboard and making me copy them down and read it out loud, she used all these amazing illustrations to go along with the vocabs as well. Every time we had to learn a new word, there was a cute or funny drawing to go with it. Like, when we were learning the words for different animals and food, she had these flashcards with the funniest cartoon pictures on them. There was this one illustration of a creature call zebranana that made me laugh so hard, and I still remember that the word "cá ngựa chuối" just because of that drawing! Sometimes she would even draw things on the board herself, and she would purposely make them look goofy so we would remember them better. It made learning the vocabulary feel way more like reading a comic book or playing a fun game than actually studying. I am a very visual person, so seeing the pictures right next to the words helped me memorize them so much faster. I even started doodling my own little pictures in my notebook next to my vocabulary lists, and she totally encouraged it and would even give me funny ideas for what to draw next. She was also so, so helpful when it came to practicing speaking. Vietnamese tones are honestly really tricky, and sometimes my voice would go up when it was supposed to go down, and I would accidentally say something completely wrong. But she never ever made me feel bad about it. If I messed up, she would just laugh with me—not at me—and then we would practice saying it together slowly until I finally got it right. She would make up these funny little rhythms or hand motions to help me remember which way my voice was supposed to go, and we would just sit there repeating them and giggling. She made practicing feel like hanging out with an older sister rather than taking a test. She would also ask me about my day and my hobbies, and then teach me the words for the things I actually cared about, like my favorite food or activity or how to put those in a sentence, instead of just making me learn random words I would never actually use in real life. By the time my course was over, I was actually really sad to leave. I can literally go to the local convenience store now and buy my own snacks, or say thank you and hello to the guards at our apartment building, and they always look so surprised and happy when I speak to them! I feel so much more confident living in Vietnam now. If you are a kid or a teenager and your parents are making you learn Vietnamese, tell them to sign you up at LTL Saigon. It is actually so much fun, the teachers are incredibly nice and funny, and you will learn so much without even feeling like you are doing homework. Ich hatte den 2 Wochen 1:1 Kurs mit John und habe eine Menge gelernt. John ist ein absolut toller Lehrer, geduldig, mit viel Hintergrundwissen ueber Vietnam. Ich habe gute Grundkenntnisse der vietnamesischen Sprache erworben und werde darauf weiter aufbauen. Ich kann die LTL Language School sehr empfehlen.

**Mein Erfahrungsbericht: Vietnamesisch lernen an der LTL Language School in Ho Chi Minh City** Wer sich vornimmt, Vietnamesisch zu lernen, steht vor einer faszinierenden, aber auch herausfordernden Aufgabe. Die Töne, die Grammatik und die ganz eigene Phonetik verlangen einem zu Beginn einiges ab. Umso wichtiger ist es, eine Sprachschule zu finden, die einen auf dieser Reise optimal begleitet. Nach meinen eigenen Erfahrungen vor Ort kann ich mit Überzeugung sagen: **Die LTL Language School in Ho Chi Minh City ist einfach top!** **Der Registrierungsprozess: Ein kleiner Umweg mit hervorragendem Support** Ehrlich gesagt verläuft der erste Schritt – die Registrierung und Organisation im Vorfeld – nicht ganz ohne Hürden. Der Prozess ist streckenweise etwas umständlich und erfordert etwas Geduld sowie das Ausfüllen verschiedener Formulare. Doch genau an dieser Stelle zeigt sich bereits die große Stärke der Schule: **das Team vor Ort und im Hintergrund.** Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sind extrem hilfsbereit, stets ansprechbar und antworten zügig auf alle Fragen. Wenn es an einer Stelle im Anmeldungsprozess hakte, war sofort jemand zur Stelle, um Unklarheiten zu beseitigen und mich Schritt für Schritt durch die Bürokratie zu begleiten. Durch diese persönliche Unterstützung lösten sich alle kleinen organisatorischen Hindernisse schnell in Luft auf. Man fühlt sich bereits vor dem ersten Schultag bestens aufgehoben. **Unterricht auf höchstem Niveau: Ein riesiges Lob an Lehrer Tri!** Das Herzstück jeder Sprachschule ist natürlich der Unterricht – und hier glänzt die LTL Language School ganz besonders. Mein absolutes Highlight und der Hauptgrund für meinen Lernerfolg war mein Dozent. >**Ein sehr großes Lob an dieser Stelle an Lehrer Tri!** Herr Tri versteht es meisterhaft, die vietnamesische Sprache mit unglaublichem **Engagement**, enormer **Geduld** und einer großen Portion Begeisterung zu vermitteln. Vietnamesisch ist bekanntlich eine Tonsprache, bei der schon die kleinste Abweichung in der Betonung die Bedeutung eines Wortes komplett verändern kann. Das führt zu Beginn zwangsläufig zu vielen Fehlern. Doch Lehrer Tri schafft eine Lernatmosphäre, in der man sich zu jedem Zeitpunkt wohl und ermutigt fühlt. * **Geduld & Präzision:** Er nimmt sich die nötige Zeit, um schwierige Laute wieder und wieder zu üben, bis die Aussprache sitzt. * **Praxisnah & Lebendig:** Der Unterricht ist nicht trocken oder starr nach Lehrbuch aufgebaut, sondern nimmt immer wieder Bezug auf den echten Alltag in Vietnam. I really like this experience, the teachers, and facility. First of all, I like the morning Vietnamese learning because my female teacher makes it’s very fun. Second of all, she also introduces a lot of the basic conversation topics. Next of all, I like the afternoon activities because my male teacher is very chill and takes us to cool activities. Another reason is because the facility is very peaceful during learning and very peaceful. If you plan to go here the experience is very fun and has a lot of things you can for activities and learning!

As a student at LTL School Saigon, I have had an amazing experience learning in such a welcoming and supportive environment. Recently, I completed the Introduction to Vietnamese Language Training course at LTL Language School, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most rewarding educational experiences I have undertaken. As someone who regularly travels to Vietnam and has a strong interest in Vietnamese culture, history, and people, I wanted a practical language course that would provide a solid foundation for communicating with the local community. LTL Language School exceeded my expectations in every way. One of the aspects that impressed me most was how much I was able to learn in such a short period of time. The course was structured in a logical and practical manner, allowing me to quickly build a strong foundation in Vietnamese pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and everyday conversation. My two-week language course was an amazing experience. During this time, I learned a lot and improved my language skills significantly, especially thanks to my teacher, Linh. She was very supportive, patient, and made every lesson interesting and enjoyable. I was also very lucky to stay with such a wonderful host family. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and made me feel at home from the very first day. Thanks to them, I was able to experience the local culture and practice the language in everyday situations. Everything was very well organized, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity, and I am grateful for everything I learned and experienced during these two weeks. I will always remember this great time.

I had 30h total of lessons with tri, and had a great experience. It was a good mix of learning in the classroom, but also going to shops and cafes to practice the real situations. The team is really lovely, and organized a ton of activities that you could join if you wanted too!

Ein toller Aufenthalt an der Sprachschule. Ich habe es sehr genossen, auch wenn vietnamesisch eine schwierige Sprache ist. Mein Lehrer John hatte sehr viel Geduld mit mir. I had a great class 1v1 with My Linh, she was really accurate by analysing my skills & needs and customizing my individual class. I was working really hard with her on my reading skills, and my cultural knowledge. She taught me a lot about Vietnamese culture, literature, and language. She was also really accurate with my pronounciation and corrected me whenever I made a mistake.

Learning Vietnamese with Linh was a fantastic experience. She made every lesson engaging and tailored everything to my goals. I especially liked that the lessons were always interactive and based on real conversations. On top of that, she was very open in sharing Vietnamese culture. Highly recommended!
