What inspired you to go abroad?

I was inspired to go abroad because I wanted to challenge myself and experience life beyond Kazakhstan. I understood that learning English locally had limitations, especially in real communication.

Moving to Kuala Lumpur allowed me to fully immerse myself in an international environment, improve my language skills faster, and become more independent. I also wanted to expand my horizons, meet people from different cultures, and create better opportunities for my future career.

Why did you choose Bright Language Center?

I’m in Kuala Lumpur

I chose Bright Language Center because of its strong reputation for helping students achieve high IELTS scores and its diverse international community. I was impressed by the teaching quality, experienced instructors, and practical approach to learning English

The center also offers a friendly environment with many nationalities, which makes learning more engaging. It felt like the perfect place not only to study but also to grow personally and socially.

What was your favorite part about Kuala Lumpur?

My favorite part about Kuala Lumpur was its cultural diversity and vibrant lifestyle. The city brings together different cultures, which is reflected in the food, traditions, and people. I loved trying new cuisines, visiting iconic places like the Petronas Towers, and enjoying the modern yet affordable lifestyle.

It’s a very welcoming city for international students, and I always felt safe and comfortable living there.

What made your experience abroad extraordinary?

My experience was extraordinary because it combined education with personal transformation. At Bright Language Center, I significantly improved my English, especially my confidence in speaking. At the same time, I met amazing friends from over 40 different countries, which helped me understand different perspectives and cultures.

This journey changed me, making me more open-minded, confident, and motivated for my future.

How did local staff support you throughout your program?

The staff at Bright Language Center were very supportive and caring throughout my entire journey. They were always ready to help with academic questions, personal concerns, and daily life advice. Teachers provided individual feedback and encouraged us to improve continuously.

The support team also organized activities and checked on students regularly, making sure we felt comfortable and motivated.

What's one thing you wish you would have done differently during your time abroad?

I wish I had traveled more around Malaysia and nearby countries while I had the opportunity. Although I explored Kuala Lumpur well, I could have taken more advantage of being in such a central location in Southeast Asia.

I would also try to speak English even more from the very beginning and participate in every possible activity to maximize my experience

Describe what a typical day in your life abroad looked like.

With my classmates

My typical day started with classes at Bright Language Center, where we focused on speaking, listening, and IELTS preparation. The lessons were interactive and engaging.

After class, I usually had lunch with friends from different countries, which helped me practice English naturally.

In the afternoon, I reviewed my lessons or joined activities, and in the evening, I explored the city or relaxed with friends.

What did you enjoy doing during your free time abroad?

In my free time, I enjoyed exploring Kuala Lumpur, trying different types of food, and spending time with my international friends. We often visited cafes, shopping malls, and cultural places. Sometimes we joined school activities or went on short trips.

Every day felt exciting because there was always something new to discover.

What type of accommodation did you have? What did you like best about it?

I stayed in shared student accommodation with other international students. What I liked most was the multicultural environment—it allowed me to practice English daily and learn about different cultures.

The accommodation was comfortable, safe, and conveniently located, which made my daily life easy and enjoyable.

What is one thing every future participant should know about your program before their program begins?

Future students should know that their success depends on their own effort.

Bright Language Center provides excellent teachers and resources, but it’s important to stay active, speak English daily, and engage with others. Being open-minded and social will help you get the most out of the experience.

Would you recommend Bright Language Center to others? Why?

Yes, I would highly recommend Bright Language Center because it offers high-quality education and a supportive international environment. It’s not just about studying English—it’s about building confidence, making global friends, and gaining life-changing experiences. It truly helps students grow both personally and professionally while preparing them for an international future.

What do you feel the biggest benefit of traveling abroad is?

I’m traveling

The biggest benefit of traveling abroad is personal growth. It teaches independence, adaptability, and communication skills. You learn how to live in a new environment, understand different cultures, and become more confident in yourself. These experiences are invaluable for both personal and professional development.

Now that you're home, how has your time abroad impacted your life?

Since returning home, I have noticed a significant improvement in both my English proficiency and my overall communication skills. Living and studying in an international environment pushed me out of my comfort zone and required me to use English in real-life situations every day. As a result, I became more confident in expressing my thoughts clearly, participating in conversations, and understanding different accents and communication styles.

Beyond language development, I also became much more open-minded. Interacting with people from diverse cultural, educational, and social backgrounds helped me see the world from different perspectives. I learned to respect differences, adapt quickly to new environments, and communicate effectively with individuals who may think and behave differently from me.

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

Meaningful travel means growing as a person while experiencing new cultures. It’s about learning, connecting with people, and gaining new perspectives. My time in Kuala Lumpur was meaningful because it helped me develop both academically and personally. It also pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to become more confident and independent.
