Before taking classes at Nihao Cafe, I tried online platforms for chinese however I could not find a school that was a good fit for me. I have been taking one class a week for a little over 3 months and so far they are best option for learning chinese online. I really like the way classes are structured and that I have the option to go back to review material from past classes. The teachers at Nihao cafe are very professional and encouraging. I’m really happy with my experience so far and would definitely recommend Nihao Cafe to anyone looking to learn Chinese online.

I've been studying Chinese with That's Mandarin now for 5 months and have enjoyed it. The teacher is good and it's easy to schedule online classes to fit my schedule. The online tool helps to review previous classes and topics.

I am slowly learning new words every class and use it in conversations. My teacher is very patient with me since I usually choose the topic I want to learn. I always look forward to my classes and the team is very helpful whenever I encounter difficulty in the online platform or have changes in my schedules.

I can’t recommend That’s Mandarin and NihaoCafe enough! I long wanted to learn Chinese but was always scared to begin. The tones and characters felt overwhelming for a beginner. Learning online through NihaoCafe is incredibly convenient. No travelling, and I can schedule classes flexibly around my schedule. After just over a dozen beginner lessons, my anxiety about Chinese has disappeared. My teacher，Jin Laoshi is patient and supportive, making speaking practice feel easy. Zero Distance Chinese: Understand Campus Life in China” is my favorite weekly class. We spend 90 minutes learning scenarios like taking photos in class and asking teachers for help. We had a sharing activity about campus life last week. Teachers listen carefully to our study worries and give targeted advice. The close learning atmosphere makes me feel connected to Chinese campus culture deeply.

The course “Practical Chinese: Essential Expressions for Studying in China” totally matches my needs. I’ve studied here for one month. We practiced real dialogues about school registration and dormitory meals. The teacher designs role-play activities every lesson. Every confusing phrase gets detailed explanation, showing great humanistic care. I can use daily Chinese smoothly when imagining my future study in China.

This was my favorite course - very challenging and Avril is a very effective teacher. I feel like I learned a lot and have now a lot of resources to continue on my own. If I ever return to CLI (I do plan to!), I will request Avril as my general teacher.
