This internship was an amazing opportunity
July 30, 2026by: Kiara Di MauroProgram: Affordable Internships in Italy | Where Culture Meets Career
I really enjoyed my experience. This internship was an amazing opportunity to learn more about my field from professionals with far more experience. It allowed me to develop my skills, gain valuable knowledge, and build confidence in a real-world setting. I highly recommend this internship to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and gaining hands-on experience in the field. Any questions I had were answered within 24 hours, which I really appreciated.
Lucky with my placement
July 27, 2026by: Emelia Roy - United StatesAfter being ghosted multiple times by the employer I was originally matched with, I was placed with C.R.E.T.A Rome, a ceramics studio and artist residency studio. I am a graphic design major and was tasked with designing two catalogues for the upcoming shows of one of the studio's owners, a magnificent ceramicist. I worked in person 20 hours a week and 10-15 hours remote per week and this has been a very rewarding experience. The placement was perfect and I'm very grateful.
My internship was incredibly rewarding
July 24, 2026by: Alyssa SantosProgram: Affordable Internships in Italy | Where Culture Meets Career
My internship was incredibly rewarding, both personally and professionally. What I enjoyed most was learning in a small, close-knit environment, which gave me a very real perspective on what running a design business looks like. I had the chance to strengthen my AutoCAD skills, improve my efficiency and learn to embrace feedback and iteration without over-attaching to early versions. I also grew personally, building relationships and gaining confidence working in Italian. This experience confirmed my passion for interior design and architecture. If I could give one piece of advice to someone, it would be: trust the process, don't give up and enjoy every chance to learn. I'm incredibly grateful to my placement and everyone who supported me throughout this journey. Sarah was my Program Manager throughout the internship preparation. She was always available and answered my calls and emails very quickly, with clear and helpful feedback and advice.

I dont think I would change my experience for anything. i think about florence every day.
Best 4 months of my life
February 17, 2026by: Tyler Owen - United StatesStudying abroad truly was a life-altering experience. Worldstrides made it easy to understand the process and they were very helpful in answering any questions and providing assistance pre-departure, during, and have even been in touch after. I've made friends I will hold on to all my life and made so many special memories. I feel so much more open to change now and I am sure this will stick with me for the better!
I feel fulfilled
August 17, 2025by: Caroline SurridgeProgram: Affordable Internships in Italy | Where Culture Meets Career
What I enjoyed the most was the overall abroad experience and the safe chance I got to explore a foreign country. I really liked the segment at the beginning with Italian lessons and think that made my experience a thousand times better. I feel fulfilled after having lived alone abroad for a few months and having started learning a new language.
LOVED my time abroad with WorldStrides!
August 09, 2025by: Vivian Mergler - United StatesI had an amazing experience studying abroad in Florence, Italy! The housing was in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the city center and all the landmarks. The school itself was both challenging and exciting—there was always something new to learn, and the professors were passionate about what they taught. The staff was incredibly helpful and made sure everything went smoothly, from settling in to offering support throughout the semester. One of my favorite parts of the program was the weekend trips we took to nearby cities and sights. It was the perfect balance of academics and exploration. Highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a memorable study abroad experience!
Studying Abroad in Florence, Italy – A Three-Week Experience I'll Never Forget
July 18, 2025by: Neely Rutland - United StatesThis past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy through a three-week program with ISA and WorldStrides. I took a course called Wine Windows and Wine Business Walks, which was one of the most unique and engaging classes I’ve ever taken. The course brought us out into the streets of Florence and into the Tuscan countryside, where we explored wine windows, visited vineyards, and learned about the history and marketing of Italian wine directly from local producers. What made the experience even more special were the day trips that ISA and WorldStrides planned for us. We explored Pisa and took the classic leaning tower photo, wandered through the medieval towers and charming streets of San Gimignano, and soaked in the rich culture and stunning views in Siena. Each destination gave us a different glimpse into Italy’s diverse history and regional charm, all without the stress of planning it ourselves. Outside of class and excursions, Florence quickly felt like home. Whether it was sipping cappuccinos in the morning, getting lost in Renaissance art, or watching the sunset over the Arno, every day felt like a dream. This experience not only deepened my academic interests but also helped me grow personally and culturally. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to combine education, travel, and adventure in one unforgettable summer.
ISA Florence Review
June 02, 2025by: Evelyn Nedderman - United StatesI had an incredible experience abroad. I truly enjoyed learning from my professors, whose insight and dedication made a lasting impact. The program staff were exceptionally responsive to emails and provided consistent support, which made me feel confident and well taken care of throughout the entire process. I always felt safe and supported during my time abroad, especially at the beginning when everything was new. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff made a huge difference and helped me settle in smoothly. Overall, I absolutely loved the experience and am grateful for how seamless and enriching it was.
Most memorable experience ever!
November 14, 2024by: Angellah Mwafongo - MalawiThe best thing you need to know about Linguistic Horizons is the great support system. I often communicated with Nicole from the start of my application, my departure and all the way to the end of my internship, and she was absolutely fantastic. So nice, friendly and helpful and willing to hear you out always! I had some issues with finances and my placement and she sorted it out like nothing. I would recommend this experience not only because of the the prospects of being abroad and immersion, but for the cultural and work life that awaits you. Loved everything about my experience and I'm sure you will too!
Thank you, Angellah! I'm so glad you joined us in London!
Great Way to Practice Your Spanish
September 30, 2024by: Corey G.It was a great experience, however I do think it is geared towards people with little to no work experience and did not meet all my expectations of learning something new in a new work environment. The best part was being able to practice my Spanish with my host family.
Great Internship
September 23, 2024by: Birdie B.CIEE provided me with a great internship site, a clean and nice apartment in a good neighborhood, and gave me roommates who shared similar interests. Becoming an Italian
July 12, 2024by: Chiara Moore - United StatesI decided to spend an academic year studying in Florence, Italy, because my mother’s family is Tuscan and Sicilian, and I wanted to reconnect with my heritage. I stayed in a homestay with one roommate, and our host was a wonderful grandmother. She was incredibly kind and supportive, and I am so grateful for the year I got to spend with her. While in Italy, I also traveled to ten other countries, experiencing their food, celebrations, shopping scenes, and more. Besides traveling, my time in Italy was one of the best periods of my life. I made close friends with many locals and foreigners who taught me their languages, cooking skills, and other cultural traditions.

Great program!
March 28, 2024by: Jessica Powell - United StatesI really enjoyed my internship and this program! I had an amazing internship experience and got to meet life long friends along the way. I would definitely recommend this program to someone who want to have a work experience and study abroad! Especially, to someone who wants to build their resume. I know that’s what attracted me to this program. The housing accommodation was great good size rooms, kitchen and living room. Amazing support by advisors Amanda and Antonella. You are able to reach them at any point during experience and they will get back to you as soon as they can. Overall, I had a great experience and will cherish this period of my life forever.
Great experience
March 28, 2024by: Sophie Kirkegaard - United StatesOverall, I had a great experience in Milan and am very grateful for the support and guidance offered by our program advisors. Although my internship was not the professional experience I had hoped for, living abroad and immersing myself in a new culture made the program worth it. If there had been clearer expectations about my role as an intern I think this could have helped me have a more valuable work experience. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking for the opportunity to live abroad in a major city.
Great Experience
March 28, 2024by: Francesca Rizzo - United StatesI had a great experience while interning abroad in Milan, Italy. I felt very supported while abroad by both AISF advisors, Amanda and Antonella. They went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible and catered to our needs. My internship placement was fantastic, I was often tasked with projects that can be used in my portfolio and I was fortunate enough to experience Milan Fashion Week and attend some of the events. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my experience and I will continue to remember this trip for years to come.

MILANO
March 25, 2024by: Emily Gray - United StatesOverall, this experience abroad was eye opening and amazing! I couldn't have asked for better program advisors, Antonella and Amanda. They were super welcoming and responsive. During my time, I was able to travel outside of Italy, explore Milan, and met lifelong friends which was one of my favorite parts about being here. However, my internship was not something I got to excel in professionally. I think the employer should be more honest on what the job entails to the intern and to AIFS because my responsibilities did not align with what I actually did during my internship.
Fashion Business Intern
March 25, 2024by: Anna Maples - United StatesThe on the ground staff were super supportive and planned exciting events. The apartments are in a great location and everyone had spacious rooms. My internship contained busy work and I don't think I grow professionally. I'm a fashion marketing student but if I knew the fashion business internship consisted of photo copying and getting clients coffee I would have applied to a marketing-only position. The program ran very smoothly and was well structured but most of the winter students were not satisfied with their company placement.
Journalism Internship in Milan
March 20, 2024by: Savannah Dawson - United StatesMy experience was unique because I was the only person on my program who had a remote internship. I feel as though I got off on the wrong foot because I was the only person who had Italian experience, so I was in a different class than the rest of the people in my program. This was no one’s fault, but I wasn’t able to get to know them as we were all on different schedules. The on-site staff, Antonella and Amanda, were so helpful in making all of us feel included and planning great events for us.
