This is a unique, tailor-made learning and living experience integrated with the academic quality of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Our customized programs are for institutions and agencies that want to provide groups of international students with an educational experience at a university of international excellence. Participants study on the main campus just outside the city or at a campus in central Barcelona. Individual programs are tailored by selecting from more than 100 elective subjects in English or Spanish across areas like Business, Communication, Medicine and Nursing, Law, Arts and Humanities, and Spanish and Catalan Language. Guarantee maximum flexibility! Programs are available all year round, with flexible timetables and no minimum duration. Students can add accommodation, meals, transport, cultural visits, and leisure activities.

This program is perfect for students with intermediate-level or higher Spanish skills who seek an authentic and immersive experience. Away from the crowds of American students who opt for more popular destinations, like Barcelona or Madrid, with us, you will find yourself fully immersed in the Spanish language and culture of La Coruña, Spain. At the beginning of the semester, you can optionally take an intensive Spanish language course to help prepare you for the semester abroad. You can take classes in your field of interest at an accredited public Spanish university. Most classes are taught in Spanish alongside Spanish students. While some courses are offered in English, we highly recommend taking on the challenge of studying in Spanish. If you need additional Spanish practice before the semester starts, you may combine our Summer Spanish Immersion program with the semester or year abroad program. You will be issued an official transcript, and we can assist you with obtaining transfer credit at your home institution. Adding a customized internship at a Spanish company alongside your studies is possible.

Located in western Spain, next to rolling hills and the Tormes River, Salamanca offers an experience of a lifetime. Study at one of the oldest universities in the world when you go abroad with API! Historical giants have studied at Salamanca University—including Miguel De Cervantes, Ignatius Loyola, and Hernan Cortes. Now, it's your time to study in these beautiful ancient honey-colored buildings and learn Spanish and culture in the "Golden City." Explore the Plaza Mayor, also known as one of the most beautiful plazas in Spain, or visit the Cielo de Salamanca and examine its alluring painted ceiling of astrological symbols! Take an excursion to the mountains of Salamanca and hike La Alberca. Travel to the nearby town of Toro and taste some of its unbelievable wines. History and culture are abundant when you study in Salamanca, Spain, with API abroad!

The Multidisciplinary Studies Program offers semester-long courses in either English or Spanish in business, communication, economics, history, political science, and many other areas. The courses offered only in English are computer science, biology, chemistry, psychology, and others. Spanish language courses are offered at six levels, including Spanish for the health professions, Business Spanish, Spanish conversation, Spanish phonetics, Spanish reading and composition, and Spanish/English translation courses. Our Spanish language classes have a class size range of 10 to 16 students, while all other classes have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 24 students. Classes are held from Monday to Thursday and may occasionally have Friday activities. In addition, transcripts for completed courses are issued by Pablo de Olavide University. Students who score at the Advanced I level on their Spanish placement exam may enroll in up to two regular university courses. If the courses with the Spanish students are conducted in English, this language requirement is waived. Please note that a GPA of 2.75 or higher is required to participate in the program.

You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and courses taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, Arizona State University (ASU). Madrid is Spain’s cultural capital, beaming with energy and creativity – the perfect backdrop for students with any interests. The Liberal Arts in Advanced Spanish program offers the best combination of cultural preparation, specially designed courses, and guided direct enrollment at a local university. Designed for students who have completed two semesters of advanced college Spanish, it features combined studies at the Spanish Studies Abroad Center with courses at Universidad de Sevilla (USEV). At the Center, immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture through courses specially designed for non-Spanish students. At the same time, fulfill the requirements needed for Spanish, international studies, business, education, and other majors. In addition to living in a Spanish home, participate in study tours, cultural events, and social activities. Benefit from the expertise of SSA Center staff members who guide you to ensure full immersion into the Sevillano community through volunteer work, local clubs, internships, and other activities.
