Visual Arts Study Abroad in Italy

Unlike many other study abroad programs, Athena offers its students programs that are focused on intense, cultural immersion which puts them in touch with the locals of their host country, elements of the host culture, and other international students from around the world to ensure a well-rounded, diverse experience.

API offers five wonderful locations in Italy to learn about and absorb the Italian culture and way of life. All programs are for undergraduate students. Classes are comprised of other foreign and American students. Semester, summer, and year terms are available for all programs, and a January intersession programs are available in Florence and Taormina.

Whether you are pursuing a four-year degree or are seeking to study abroad, you will do so in the heart of Rome surrounded by the extraordinarily rich offerings of a city of culture, history, art, creativity, business and international affairs.

Established in 1966, Temple Rome offers a semester or academic year program of full-time study designed primarily for third-year undergraduate students. Programs include Architecture, Visual Arts, International Business and Liberal Arts/Italian Studies.

The first year is devoted to acquiring the basic methodology necessary for students to adopt the right approach to creative work. In the years that follow, there is a more intense focus on design activities developed on the base of real client briefs, supported by the guidance of lecturers and by the supervision of consultants in the field in question.

This semester program is provided in locations throughout Italy. Developed by The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts, students enjoy studio arts including painting, drawing, and also creative writing within a small group of students. This program is fully-accredited and offers scholarships, grants, and other awards. In order to qualify, advanced students must submit a portfolio.

Join New Etruria College Association's (NECA) study abroad program in Italy. Students not only choose from an array of programs, they also explore Italy while living in Florence and participating in cross-cultural immersions. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and have already completed two semesters of college.
