CEA CAPA Education Abroad in Rome, Italy

My time in Rome with CEA was the most amazing summer of my life. I came into the program knowing no one; I had no family in Rome, and I didn't speak Italian. But as soon as I met my roommates, we clicked right away and became the best of friends! Living together was so much fun; we'd do grocery runs whenever we needed food, which was the easiest supply run I have ever done since the grocery stores around our apartment were maybe two minutes away in each direction. We'd go out to dinner, trying local Roman pasta like Rigatoni all'Amatriciana, which became a favorite amongst our group; we'd get gelato practically every night! We even traveled together while we were there, heading off to different countries on the weekends when we found the time! Our group meshed so incredibly well and I had the time of my life with them. The memories we made are some of my most precious; we watched Off Campus together, shouting at the screen when someone did something wrong; we walked to the Colosseum in the middle of the night just because we wanted to see the sights; we watched FIFA on the Tiber River banks with other tourists and locals. It was so great that now it feels like a dream. The travel around Italy was so incredibly easy! Flying out of Fiumicino Airport took no time whatsoever when you were traveling within the EU and was incredibly easy to get to from our apartment in Prati. I got really used to taking public transport while I was there, and though it was intimidating at first, it was so easy after I got used to it. Taking the A line to Termini and the train to the airport was honestly a fun experience. I had a great time exploring the transportation options in Rome. Lastly, the administration in Rome for CEA CAPA was absolutely incredible! They made us all feel so welcome and were very conscientious of our needs, always making themselves available if we needed them! The professors were wonderful as well! My Art and Archaeology professor and Photography professor were incredible women and very skilled in their chosen disciplines! They took us across Rome to study sites and help us hone our skills to become better acquainted with history and photography. It was incredible to actually go into the Roman Forum and the Colosseum to study their history! My time in Rome was honestly the best time! I grew so much in confidence as I learned to live comfortably in a new culture. Everything from the academics to the lifestyle of the city was incredible and I can't wait to go back!

Class selection was good, particularly Art & Archaeology which I would consider a must. There's no city as good as Rome for learning about history given the plethora of ancient Roman sites and museums. Also, there was ample time for exploring Italy on my own.

Studying abroad in Italy is an absolute dream come true, offering an incredible mix of world-class education, deep historical immersion, and unforgettable weekend travels. It is the perfect destination if you want to balance your academic goals with a vibrant, slow-paced lifestyle full of incredible food, art, and culture.

I had honestly the most fun ever here with my friends! I thoroughly enjoyed my classes, learning about the culture, exploring Italy and Europe! It was life changing and I would highly recommend to everyone!

I had a really great time with my experience in Rome! I love my roommates and we’ve become really great friends. I’ve also had a great time exploring Rome and immersing myself in the culture while also being able to do weekend travel.

I felt like I lived in Rome for so long and got immersed to fast, it felt like I had lived here forever. This got me missing home, but that’s not a bad thing. I got enough non-academic days that it allowed me to explore other part of Italy and Europe too.

I had a great time studying abroad in rome with cea capa. Right from the start, I found a strong sense of community cultivated through program-wide events and orientation. Through sponsored trips I even got to see other parts of italy.

SO GREATI love cea so much and i hope to come back soon:) I experienced so much and I learned so much about rome in this experience I met so many great people and went to so many incredible places. I loved it.

i had an amazing experience and meeting my roommates and having gelato pizza together yhe first day was greatt. i loved the trip to florence and pompeii and my teachers were very u derstanding and i learned a lot about roman hisyory

This was a great experience! They offered so many fun things to help us experience Italy! The living situation was great and we had an Italian roommate that lived with us! I loved CEA and I wish I never had to leave

The area around the apartment is nice and has many beautiful historic areas scattered about, in which running by then became a great routine every day. Would love to stay longer and check out more of prati

Good Study Abroad program - academics and atmosphere were good, the living situation was good as well and I had a great time! CEA knows what they are doing and were helpful with both pre-departure and post arrival plans.

Had a great time traveling and meeting people. Classes were not too difficult but not too lax. Had a great time collaborating with my classmates and meeting my teachers. I recommend this program to anybody

i has a great time but my engineering professor was average. he made the class way more challenging than needed but i survived and passed the class. there was very poor communication on what the exams.

Had a great time traveling Italy Greece and Swizterland. Visited Athens, Greece, and Zermatt, Switzerland in back to back weekends, the beaches and mountains were very beautiful!!! I can’t wait to revisit the Matterhorn and hopefully climb it.

Awesome it was so much. i had a really great time with the friends that i met here and we got to travel a lot as well as become immersed in the culture of rome and italy. i would certainly recommend this to my friends and wish i could do it again!

My Summer in Rome was an unforgettable experience that I can't stop recommending to everyone! I absolutely loved the opportunity to live in the city and learn about its history at the same time. Being immersed in the Roman Empire while hearing its stories was one of my favorite parts. Italy overall has so much to offer, and with the trains and metro, Rome makes it easy to explore and travel around its different regions to get the full experience from its beautiful beaches to Tuscan country. CEA CAPA Staff was phenomenal throughout and was definitely one of the things I loved most about this trip. The staff always went above and beyond to make sure their students were supported and having the best experience possible. Pros - CEA CAPA Staff - Excursions to other cities in Italy - Rich historical presence in the city Cons - Public transport in Italy outside of Rome can be tricky, plan accordingly! - Very touristy area - Very hot during the summer (and no A/C haha)

Going around Rome and learning with CEA was a joy. So much good fun and learned a lot with great teachers and friends. Everyone was very supportive and gave us the time of our lives. Hope this review helps u decide on CEA in rome.

Excellent I really liked this lrogram, I had a great time and I would like to do it again if given the opportunity. If I had to improve my experience I would provide students with a couple more activities, as the ones provided we’re fun
