Our summer program is designed for teens from all academic backgrounds who are excited about immersing themselves in Italian culture and lifestyle. The Florence Institute offers architecture courses that teach drawing and observational skills and provide a general overview of Italian architectural theory and history. These introduce basic architectural principles and explore elementary building concepts, form, surface, and space. They also offer a basic understanding of the urban context and how city elements relate. Most courses are conducted "on-site," where students learn directly from architectural works through observational analysis and develop basic sketching and drafting skills in various media.
