You won’t just volunteer, you’ll collaborate with families, kids, and community leaders, building real connections and learning what daily life is like far beyond the tourist beaches. Between service days, the island comes alive through snorkeling in warm Caribbean waters, relaxing on golden sand, and exploring the colorful streets of Santo Domingo, the oldest European city in the Americas. Every part of the experience is designed to balance impact and adventure, giving you space to grow, try new things, and feel proud of what you contributed. Water and Sanitation Projects with BLUE Missions

Join the family of over 4,100 volunteers that have traveled abroad with BLUE Missions to serve on a water or sanitation project. You’ll live in a rural community for 7 days working, learning, and living in the moment. Whether you are in high school, college, or an adult we have a service trip for you. Our projects wouldn’t be possible without volunteers like you! During the trip, we'll complete the construction of a water or sanitation project. The communities we work in either lack access to running water safe for drinking or lack of access to hygienic bathrooms. In the water project, our team will construct a water system, in which a freshwater source will be connected via gravity-driven aqueduct to the homes of every family. In the sanitation project, families in need of bathrooms will have ventilated improved pit latrines built adjacent to their homes. Prepare to get your hands dirty carrying pipe, digging trenches, mixing cement, and building latrines. You'll work alongside locals, get to know their stories, and accomplish together a major infrastructure milestone for their community.
