USAC Spain: Bilbao/Getxo - International Business & Spanish

The Bilbao/Getxo program is ideal for students who wish to develop an international business career and/or a bilingual career. You may stay for one semester or a full year and focus on Spanish Language and Cultural Studies or International Business. Our intensive language approach allows you to complete one to three courses (4-11 credits) of university foreign language in only one semester, depending on your primary focus for the semester. The program also offers the opportunity to complete internships. The academic coursework is only part of the value of a semester or year abroad. Courses are complemented by the opportunity to experience the society and culture of the Basque Country through personal interaction with local students and field trips to sites of social, historic, artistic, and economic interest. A local university student is available to become your conversation partner, which is an excellent way to make friends and become integrated into the community.

Veritas Christian Study Abroad in Seville, Spain

Veritas Christian Study Abroad offers students the opportunity to study and dialogue peacefully about major religious issues in a land where many have gone to war in the name of religion. Veritas in Spain will challenge the way students think and live as global citizens. There are those in the Western world who think that religion is losing its importance in our modern world. One look at the world around us will tell us otherwise. Though secularism has changed the religious landscape in Europe and North America, the growth of religious zeal and participation on other continents is staggering. It takes only one glance at the daily news to see that religious issues have everything to do with making sense of our shrinking global community. At Veritas, we are unashamedly Christian, believing in the divine revelation of God through His incarnate Son, Jesus, and through His inspired Word, the Bible. We hope all people will give fresh and thorough examination to our faith, so we choose in turn to enter into the rich study of other faiths. Through the study of religious history and theology, our capacity to enter into relationships with others will be enhanced.

Seville, the capital of Andalusia and Spain’s 4th largest city, is between the Sierra Morena mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoying culture from the Romans, Visigoths, Muslims, Jews, and Christians throughout the ages and serving as the focal point of the Spanish Renaissance, the city is rich in history and tradition. When visiting Seville, you can experience the city as it was centuries ago. The lovely winding streets and active public squares of the Barrio Santa Cruz allow insight into the oldest portion of the city, and the list of monuments and historic sites is seemingly endless. The Tower of Gold once served as a landmark for arriving ships, and its Cathedral houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus. The 12th-century Moorish palace, the Alcázar, is the oldest palace fortress still used by European royalty.
