As the "birthplace of democracy," students can walk in the footsteps of the world's greatest philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. With a recorded history of over 3,400 years, the history of Athens is almost incomparable to that of any other city in the world. While the remains of ancient Athens are still prevalent throughout the city these days, the city is as young and vibrant as ever. Students gain access to the countless museums, cafes and tavernas, local shops, and farmers' markets, not to mention the country's famous Greek islands. The Arts, Business, Liberal Arts & Sciences semester program and the Business & Liberal Arts Summer programs at The American College of Greece (ACG) offer a great variety of courses from three schools: the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Fine & Performing Arts, and the School of Business. Popular subject areas include Business, Performing & Visual Arts, and Psychology. Courses are taught by ACG faculty at ACG, and students take courses with local and visiting international students.
