CIEE Summer Internships CIEE Summer Global Internships are 6-credit, 8-week programs with full-time working hours (approximately 30 hours weekly) and a seminar. CIEE Summer Intern and Study Abroad are 6 to 7-credit, 6-week programs with a part-time internship (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and a 3-credit academic course. CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad Programs are 12 to 14-credit, 12-week programs that feature a part-time internship​ (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and two academic courses.

The Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University (FUBiS) is an intensive academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted towards their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS sessions run for three to six weeks and take place both in summer and winter. Students can choose between subject courses (mostly taught in English) and German language and culture courses. The 50+ subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art History, Politics, Law, History, Media Studies, Economics, Sustainability, Literature, Philosophy, Entrepreneurship, and Music. German language and culture courses are available for up to five different proficiency levels (A1 to C1). Field trips are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers excursions such as to the Berlin Reichstag building and a river boat tour through downtown Berlin or day trips to Potsdam and Leipzig.

The Semester Program is an integral part of the Degree programs offered by the Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies. This provides participants with comprehensive, tailored learning opportunities in a number of fields related to International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy. Each program features classroom lectures, seminars, and workshops led by experts from the fields of international politics, diplomacy, academia, civil society, and the private sector. The Semester Abroad Program offers the perfect opportunity to learn about the innovative field of Cultural Diplomacy over approximately 90 days. Students attend lectures and other activities, followed by final assignments, which are submitted within 45 days following the active semester period (done from distance). This allows participants, including professionals, with other commitments to participate as non-degree status students. Students enrolled in degree programs in other universities can coordinate with their universities to incorporate the curriculum into their study program and gain credits worth 30 ECTS (full semester credits).

The University Pathway Program offers answers beyond the German course. We accompany you from the beginning, assist with visa applications, help find accommodation, organize application training, and provide support related to school recognition and professional qualifications. Our expertise ensures efficient learning during classes in Berlin or Düsseldorf, as well as through our online training center, allowing you to learn from the comfort of your own home. According to the 2022 annual IEEE Spectrum survey of the top programming languages, Python remains the most popular programming language in job listings. This course covers the fundamentals of Python, with a special focus on the skills necessary for in-depth data analysis and data visualization. These two skills are fundamental in a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Humanities fields of study. In this course, we will cover the following: Data types and compound data structures Conditional statements and loops Python functions Importing, exporting, and analyzing different types of data using pandas Visualizing data using Matplotlib and Seaborn Bonus: developing interactive plots with Plotly At the end of the two-week course, students will work and present a final personal data analytics and visualization project.

The 3-week intense program will give you the chance to explore and discuss current trends in various fields and learn from internationally renowned guest professors who are invited to this summer school from Mannheim and abroad. Courses are designed for undergraduate students of all disciplines and will cover every interest.
