Water Skiing Programs Abroad

Living aboard sailing yachts in small groups of 11 to 13 teenagers of similar ages, ActionQuest students discover the British Virgin Islands, learn new skills, earn certifications, and develop leadership abilities while having the time of their lives! Up to eight yachts sail together in a flotilla, allowing participants to connect with others from all over the United States and the world. Under the guidance of licensed sailing experts, participating teams will take charge of piloting and running their vessels. They will have a blast while earning certifications in sailing and scuba diving, and also learning marine biology, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, navigation, and seamanship. Eleven distinct programs cater to students of all levels, and no experience is necessary to join our most popular introductory voyage. Although the program's emphasis is on everything above and below the water, the crew will also explore the islands, hike the mountains, and take in fiery sunsets during beach barbecues and parties.

It's the kind of ocean expedition that aspiring marine biologists dream of—17 days on a live-aboard floating classroom: sailing, diving, and exploring the fascinating waters of the Caribbean. Set sail for a one-of-a-kind adventure with a small group of marine science enthusiasts just like you. You'll be part of a crew of seafarers whose curiosity about the ocean, marine species, and the role of marine parks will lead the team deep into the Caribbean's underwater realm. Chart a course for St. Bart's where you'll earn your PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water certification. After studying and refining your skills, it's time to hit the water and observe the underwater species and phenomena the Caribbean is known for. Lessons aboard the yacht truly come to life when you dive below the surface and witness what you've just learned. In Saba, marvel at pinnacles rising 100 feet from the ocean floor and dive among groupers, jacks, sea turtles, and alien-like corals. In just 17 days, you'll see and do more than you ever thought possible and leave with lasting friendships, incredible memories, and a desire to build upon all that you've accomplished.

This is truly the ultimate West Coast teenage road trip! The program begins in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe in Northern California. Then, cruise down the coast and fall in love with the beaches of Santa Barbara and the most famous hotspots in LA and San Diego. Next, it takes you into the American Southwest, exploring the majesty of dramatically changing scenery with a stay in Vegas. The grand finale is in beautiful Scottsdale. Our program leaders are experts at creating a close-knit, inclusive family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. This program is available to students completing grades 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 (ages 13-17). Separate departure dates are assigned to create compatible co-ed age groups. In this program, you will get to live in Funtana, Croatia. Located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, Funtana has several water activities to offer, such as swimming, sailing, diving, and water skiing. Other activities include playing sports, going camping, or even riding horses! You will also be able to learn about the history, culture, and indulge in Croatian food and wine. Volunteers on this project will get to work closely with the Bottlenose Dolphins, an effort to help conserve the declining species. Volunteers will not only gain extensive knowledge of the species but also participate in conducting research on them, through observations and data analysis. Other tasks include educating locals on the dolphins and their role in the marine ecosystem.

This program aims to bring a lasting, positive impact on the lives of some of Cape Town’s most impoverished children and youth ages 6 - 13. Volunteers are placed in a physical education program that runs in conjunction with the local public primary school curriculum. They help deliver a sports program and assist local teachers with classroom lessons. Days vary depending on the activities planned and each volunteer's creativity! The assistance of international volunteers is essential to the program's success in increasing the chances for local children to achieve their goals and ultimately improve their lives. Volunteers also spend two afternoons per week learning how to surf with a professional instructor at Muizenberg Beach, the most popular surfing beach in Cape Town, about a 20-minute drive from the volunteer accommodation.
