This is a unique, tailor-made learning and living experience integrated with the academic quality of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The two-week Summer Course in Creativity and Artificial Intelligence invites you to explore the enormous possibilities in the creation of texts and images. Generative AI is emerging as a new way to empower creative talent and transform the way we develop and experience content. Taking a creative and critical approach, you'll learn to create prompts and use various tools such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and ChatGPT. You’ll gain experience through practical exercises that challenge conventional thinking and through team presentations. You’ll also join visits to creative spaces in Barcelona and expert-led talks on how AI can be applied in different fields. Taught in English and starting in July, this practice-based course is ideal for people interested in exploring the field and putting AI to good use in life, work, and the creative environment. It is also for anyone who wants to discover the ins and outs of the topic, as it covers more than just design. Whether or not you have prior knowledge of generative AI, you'll develop creativity and explore the new frontiers between technology and human experience.

This program is perfect for students with intermediate-level or higher Spanish skills who seek an authentic and immersive experience. Away from the crowds of American students who opt for more popular destinations, like Barcelona or Madrid, with us, you will find yourself fully immersed in the Spanish language and culture of La Coruña, Spain. At the beginning of the semester, you can optionally take an intensive Spanish language course to help prepare you for the semester abroad. You can take classes in your field of interest at an accredited public Spanish university. Most classes are taught in Spanish alongside Spanish students. While some courses are offered in English, we highly recommend taking on the challenge of studying in Spanish. If you need additional Spanish practice before the semester starts, you may combine our Summer Spanish Immersion program with the semester or year abroad program. You will be issued an official transcript, and we can assist you with obtaining transfer credit at your home institution. Founded in 1450, the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) is the oldest and largest university in the region of Catalonia with over 90,000 students. The UB has always placed importance on international relations and, for many years, it has been the leader among European universities in hosting international students – with around 5,000 enrolled annually. The UB offers an Estudios Hispanicos program, with classes that reflect Spanish and Latin American culture from different perspectives. Students can choose from courses in English and Spanish that approach topics such as history, geography, art, literature, politics, and economics… all of which explore the local culture.

The Skills Summer School or “Speaking and Writing Skills for Academic and Career Success” is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills and improve your university performance and/or advance your career. You will attend classes facilitated by world-class university professors and broaden your horizons in one of the liveliest and most beautiful cities in the world. Taught entirely in English, Speaking and Writing Skills for Academic and Career Success is a two-week study program equivalent to 3 ECTS credits. Students will focus on the skills they need to master to be a successful university student or professional. These include effective listening and reading skills, presenting to large audiences, or writing papers. In addition, students will work in small teams to deliver a presentation to the entire group and practice their writing skills.
