CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad Programs are 12 to 14-credit, 12-week programs that feature a part-time internship​ (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and two academic courses.

This is a unique, tailor-made learning and living experience integrated with the academic quality of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Our customized programs are for institutions and agencies that want to provide groups of international students with an educational experience at a university of international excellence. Participants study on the main campus just outside the city or at a campus in central Barcelona. Individual programs are tailored by selecting from more than 100 elective subjects in English or Spanish across areas like Business, Communication, Medicine and Nursing, Law, Arts and Humanities, and Spanish and Catalan Language. Guarantee maximum flexibility! Programs are available all year round, with flexible timetables and no minimum duration. Students can add accommodation, meals, transport, cultural visits, and leisure activities.

This program is perfect for students with intermediate-level or higher Spanish skills who seek an authentic and immersive experience. Away from the crowds of American students who opt for more popular destinations, like Barcelona or Madrid, with us, you will find yourself fully immersed in the Spanish language and culture of La Coruña, Spain. At the beginning of the semester, you can optionally take an intensive Spanish language course to help prepare you for the semester abroad. You can take classes in your field of interest at an accredited public Spanish university. Most classes are taught in Spanish alongside Spanish students. While some courses are offered in English, we highly recommend taking on the challenge of studying in Spanish. If you need additional Spanish practice before the semester starts, you may combine our Summer Spanish Immersion program with the semester or year abroad program. You will be issued an official transcript, and we can assist you with obtaining transfer credit at your home institution. Adding a customized internship at a Spanish company alongside your studies is possible.

The Shine & Thrive Summer Program is a structured 3 or 4-week program for students who want to make the most of their summer holidays. Immersion in the Spanish language and culture, summer outdoor activities, and learning about the tools needed to excel in their personal and professional lives. Our Summer Program includes Spanish lessons, skill development classes designed carefully by experts, outdoor activities, and weekend excursions. Additionally, you will live with a local host family to fully immerse in the Spanish culture. Valencia is a stunning destination with pleasant weather all year round, located by the beaches along the Mediterranean Sea. Moreover, Valencia boasts a rich history and was voted the top city to live in worldwide last year. With almost 2,700 hours of sunshine per year, it's hard not to fall in love with the warm climate and the friendly locals of Valencia. Programs are offered in June, July and August.

Spend an unforgettable semester studying in Seville, one of Spain’s most vibrant and culturally rich cities. Through GlobalEd Abroad, students can choose from three academic institutions: Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, and EUSA University Center. Each offers quality courses taught by experienced faculty to support both academic and personal growth. Students can enroll in subjects across the humanities, business, communications, sciences, social sciences, engineering, and more.
