CIEE Summer Internships CIEE Summer Global Internships are 6-credit, 8-week programs with full-time working hours (approximately 30 hours weekly) and a seminar. CIEE Summer Intern and Study Abroad are 6 to 7-credit, 6-week programs with a part-time internship (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and a 3-credit academic course. CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad Programs are 12 to 14-credit, 12-week programs that feature a part-time internship​ (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and two academic courses.

Rome is a living historical museum—a place like no other for studying not only the history of the world but specifically the history of the Christian church. As an EU city of over three million people, it remains a significant, relevant urban center today. The discipline of history concerns itself with the stories and interpretations that provide meaning for human life. Just as with individuals, loss of historical memory makes societies, faith, movements, and ideas rootless. This is why Veritas has given special priority to the Christian study of history. To properly engage with other nations, whether through education, evangelism, or business, we must know their histories. We must understand our background and the backgrounds of others if we are going to develop effective relationships. Students will have the opportunity to study their fields for credit, as well as serve the Italian community in Rome, and enroll in our Veritas courses.

Molise Italian Studies Faculty-Led programs are not traditional study abroad trips. We partner with faculty to develop a framework of inquiry and reflection, as well as prepare specific background and culture-specific content to set the stage for effective community-based learning. Students and faculty alike will take part in an authentic Italian experience customized for any field of study, all centered around Global Intercultural Citizenship education. This is no generic study abroad program! With the Thomistic Institute, you will encounter Rome as a crossroads of intellectual traditions from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, using the life and works of St. Thomas Aquinas - one of history's most important philosophers - as a touchstone. Students enroll in courses with the Dominican friars at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas (also known as the "Angelicum"), and program excursions are tailored to the history of the Dominican Order. Students explore Roccasecca (where St. Thomas was born), Fossanova (where he died), Siena (St. Catherine of Siena's hometown), and more! Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply. Need- and merit-based scholarships are available. This program is offered by the Thomistic Institute, an academic organization based in Washington, D.C. that promotes engagement with the Thomistic intellectual tradition on college campuses. It is not necessary to have prior involvement with the TI to apply to the program.
