The Torino program is ideal for students who are interested in studying International Business, Art/Architecture, and Italian Studies in an exciting, cosmopolitan setting. Named the Youth Capital of Europe in 2010, Torino is an excellent location to study and practice the Italian language and experience Italy's rich culture away from crowded tourist areas. It is home to many prominent international companies, and this program provides an excellent opportunity to meet European students and business people in a leading center for European business and business education. Choose courses from three diverse academic areas: International Business, Architecture/Design/Art, and Italian Studies. Spend a semester or academic year in the classic city of Florence with AIFS Abroad. Choose from a wide variety of courses at the AIFS Abroad Global Education Center with credit awarded by Fairfield University. Select the Traditional Academic Program to begin or advance your Italian language skills and select courses from a variety of subjects. During the Spring semester, a Fashion Management and Marketing Program is also available. AIFS Abroad in Florence includes a one-week orientation before the semester begins to help you acclimate to life in Italy. Fall semester orientation is on the coast of Tuscany, while spring semester orientation is in Rome. Live in a shared student apartment and receive a meal plan. Study at NYU Florence and experience one of the world's most culturally significant cities. Students live either on the NYU Florence estate or in an apartment or homestay in downtown Florence. Take full advantage of the city’s many historic and cultural offerings through faculty-led trips throughout the city and the Tuscan region. NYU’s academic center is housed on La Pietra, a 57-acre estate situated in the hills above Florence. The beautiful, historic estate contains five 15th-century villas where students live and learn. Participants are immersed in the Italian language and culture during a semester, academic year, or summer program. Courses include Anthropology, Art History, Cinema, Medieval History, Sociolinguistics, History of Italian Cooking, Business, and Creative Arts. Taught in English and starting each February, this course is for students in their second year of university studies in communication, marketing, or fashion styling. The Italian Language Experience at Learning Italy – Dante Alighieri Siena offers a flexible, immersive Italian language program open to students of all proficiency levels. Students may enroll for a minimum of 3 weeks and up to a full academic year. Each week includes 20 Italian lessons (50 minutes each) in small, level-based classes. Absolute beginners must start on fixed dates, while students with prior knowledge may begin any week. Participants may be eligible to earn 3 to 9 U.S. semester-based credits through our School of Record. Students may also sit for the PLIDA certification on scheduled exam dates, subject to an additional fee. The program includes the school’s weekly cultural activities, such as film screenings, lectures, guided walks, conversation-based aperitivi and pizza nights with instructors, and reading or writing workshops. Entrance fees, food, or drinks are not included. Course materials and handouts are provided. Accommodation is not included, but students may request assistance arranging homestay or shared apartment options.
