I am motivated, responsible, and eager to learn from every experience. I am open to feedback and always ready to improve my skills. I value teamwork, communication, and adaptability, and I aim to contribute positively to any project or organization I join while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
It was an incredible experience.
March 23, 2026by: Rykan HessI’ve been wanting to start traveling to places that many people in the United States haven’t heard of, and Georgia has been on the top of my list for a while, so when I found an opportunity to go there, I went for it. It was an incredible experience. Everyone on my crew was really nice, and helpful and everyone did their part. I feel like I received enough information to effectively conduct fieldwork because our leader spent a good amount of time thoroughly explaining how to use each tool effectively and safely, and they were always watching to make sure we were using them properly
A week that changed my perspective
March 15, 2026by: LevanI enjoyed discovering a beautiful mountainous area that was new to me, I also enjoyed time spent in Kutaisi and trips from Kutaisi to Zeskho and back. The work that I had to do also brought enjoyment to me, since I do not perform physical labour on a daily basis. But most of all I enjoyed a company of smart, interesting and diverse group of individuals who come from all walks of life. My biggest takeaway is that working in the mountains and aspects that come with living there can be more fulfilling than living "comfortably" in the city.
Three Amazing Weeks in Georgia
March 04, 2026by: Nick JarmanMy three weeks in Georgia were amazing. I met awesome people, worked on new trail sections, and enjoyed the beautiful mountains and great food. The experience was friendly, safe, and unforgettable. I learned so much and made great memories along the way
Great experience with a good crew.
February 14, 2026by: Jeff BallareI love the TCT, the trail, the people and wanted to give back Great experience with a good crew. Really enjoyed the mix of local and international people Maybe recommend brining fun snacks to share (s'mores etc) The crew leader did a great job, only feedback would be to have more supervision to allow more people to work at once especially on technical scope like steps

Traveling half way around the world to volunteer effort, time and energy on marine conservation takes trust. GoEco delivered, far exceeding any preconceived expectations and hopes we had before arriving on Naifaru. The entire team provided thorough support, training and guidance so that we could participate, contribute and perform to our utmost potential. We left with a tremendous sense of achievement, accomplishment and countless unforgettable memories.

A valuable and enriching experience.

Hi guys here the feedback I sent to AOA:

Jule and Gércia are doing an outstanding job! The program was very well organized, and all questions were always addressed – whether directly related to the tasks or more general matters. I felt well supported at all times.

I especially want to highlight how valuable it is to have a local Mozambican staff member like Gércia on the team. She not only brings maritime knowledge but also shares important insights about local customs and culture – a huge asset!
When Jule was away for a few days with another group, Gércia took over the leadership of our group, smoothly managed any changes to the plan, and handled everything very professionally. You truly have a fantastic team, and that deserves to be appreciated!

Food & Meals
The food was consistently delicious – thank you, Brodie and the Tilak Lodge team!
However, after two weeks, I noticed that some meals repeated quite often. It would be great if AOA could give Brodie a bit more flexibility and resources to offer more variety in the menu. I'm sure with more freedom, Brodie could surprise us with even more creative and diverse meals!

Scuba Diving
The guides at Tofo Scuba were excellent – professional, experienced, and always supportive. Whether it was the Advanced Open Water course, ocean safaris, or fun dives, I always felt safe and in very good hands. They made every dive a great experience, and I appreciated their clear briefings, calm presence, and strong awareness of safety and the environment.

Suggestions for Improvement – Equipment
There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to technical equipment:
There are clearly not enough GoPros/underwater cameras for the volunteers.
The printer is currently unusable due to empty ink cartridges – and no replacements were available.
Coming from a technical/IT background myself, I was honestly surprised at how outdated and overused some of the devices are. One or two new laptops or computers would make a real difference and improve the workflow on site.

Final Words of Appreciation
I usually don’t give such detailed feedback – but Jule, Gércia, Brodie and the Tilak Lodge team, as well as Ross and the Tofo Scuba crew, all deserve a big compliment. Thank you for this valuable and enriching experience!
More than just building trails
January 30, 2026by: Andrew McIntyreMy biggest takeaways is "Shwarma in Kutaisi. It was a large pork one with fries. No, I'm joking, sorry. After two weeks with no internet I really started to appreciate the beauty of the mountains, the forest, the individual trees, the small habitats, the rocks and the streams in the landscape. This mainly on the hike to and from the worksite that took a proportion of each day." Continued to sustainably develop trail. Had largely good weather over the four weeks. Stayed safe, no injuries. Didn't feel as tired or fatigued as I expected after multiple weeks of trail work. Digging three toilets was not terrible. Crew leaders and all the other TCT staff are fantastic at welcoming, accommodating, teaching and sharing with the volunteers. All the crew leaders really do a great job at making the volunteers feel safe, comfortable and positive in this very remote environment.
Learning to enjoy the simplicity of camp
January 26, 2026by: MariannaWhere I would have expected more was on the food (both in terms of quantity and organization) and the non-working hours, nice to have the freedom to do what we like, but I was expecting more social activities, interactions, games, short workshops/sessions, etc (maybe not mandatory but on a volunteer basis). Also, the price is not reflecting the experience, which is authentic and cost-efficient (in a positive way), while the price is more towards a “glamping” option, which wasn’t the case (that’s why I choose it). I know funds have been an issues, but this should not impact the volunteers experience in my opinion, or the provided experience should change to reflect the price. The small habits we had, everyone has his own tasks, the morning routine, it helps enjoying the camping life even more
GoEco is the BEST!
January 20, 2026by: V S - United StatesProgram: GoEco - Top Rated & Award Winning Volunteer Programs Abroad
I was a little uncertain about booking a volunteer trip with an organization I didn't have personal experience with, but wow! I'm thrilled I took a chance on GoEco. Their staff were incredibly communicative, helpful and supportive throughout the process - they patiently answered all my questions, guided me to a location that suited me and made sure I had all information I needed to ensure a wonderful trip. The Giant Tortoise Breeding Center volunteer experience in the Galapagos Islands was more than I could ever have imagined... filled with ideal balance of hard work, interesting learning, plenty of free time for diving/snorkeling/relaxation, connection with the local community and endless opportunities for Spanish practice. I felt supported by both GoEco and the IOI program. I'm already looking forward to my next GoEco travel opportunity.
The opportunity to feel I was making an actual difference
January 05, 2026by: Jonathan BowmanTrail work was in line with expectations as were general conditions of living/camping. I enjoy the opportunity to feel I was making an actual difference that will hopefully develop hiking and tourism supporting it and local communities in Georgia Food was not always the best - appreciate it is hard to get food up a mountain, but for the price paid for the course there could have been more spent on protein sources such as tuna/tinned fish and less on empty carbs such as cookies, noodles etc. On many days I was low on energy because food felt insufficient in terms of nutrients.
Building Trails and Memories in Georgia
January 03, 2026by: Nicola ImperatoreI had wanted to visit Georgia for several years, and last year I discovered the volunteering program through the TCT. It immediately sounded like a great plan for the summer of 2025. Although it was hard to imagine beforehand what a week in Zeskho would be like, the experience met my expectations and was very professionally organized, which was the most important part. Contributing to such a meaningful project, learning how trails are built, meeting local people, and enjoying the calm of such a remote and beautiful place made the experience truly memorable

The most memorable experience for me was to have a beautiful encounter with an enormous manta ray. It circled us for more than 20 minutes on our dive and it was absolutely incredible! But that was only one out of so many amazing, memorable experiences with animals as well as people!
