Together, you’ll support the welfare and protection of dogs and cats at a local shelter. As a volunteer, your tasks will vary and could include: • Assist with bathing and brushing the dogs. • Provide animals at the shelter with companionship by playing, walking, and socializing with them. • Help the team measure the animals, take photos, and make small videos to create an ID book. • Take care of the green spaces inside the shelter and handle small construction projects (i.e., building dog runs and creating fences). All animals in the shelter are fully vaccinated. Depending on your skills and length of stay, you may have the opportunity to get more engaged with the shelter’s long-term goals. These include creating a more familiar and welcoming environment, such as an area for relaxing where people can hang out when visiting the dogs and cats. They can have fun while spending time and pouring affection into the animals.
