Contribute to the Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Costa Rica, which helps preserve the country's incredible biodiversity through the protection of endangered sea turtle nests and the release of turtle hatchlings into the wild. The program was established in 1989 and has more than 20 years of experience in the conservation and protection of endangered sea turtle populations on Costa Rica's Caribbean and Pacific coasts. The program focuses on the protection of four species of sea turtle: Pacific Black, Olive Ridley, and the occasional Hawksbill and Leatherback. These marine creatures are under serious threat from poachers who engage in the trade of turtle skin, shells, meat, and eggs, causing the destruction of the turtle's natural habitat and their accidental capture in fishing lines. The main objective of the project is to alleviate the manmade and natural threats to sea turtle nests on Costa Rican beaches. They patrol the beaches every night during nesting season to protect the sea turtles from predators, poachers, and other threats. The eggs are moved to hatcheries where the eggs are protected until the hatchlings can safely return to the ocean.

Green Life Volunteers is a registered non-profit organization or association in Costa Rica. We just earn enough to cover operational expenses, like payments for office space, employee services, and basic organizational costs. We work hard to provide volunteers with an amazing experience, with a lot of hours thrown into administration, logistics, phone calls, Skyping, emailing, and so forth. Join our January Community Health & Well-Being Volunteer Program and work with our organization to support inclusive, resilient communities in rural Costa Rican border communities. This project, implemented in 2019, is vital to the national program aimed at eliminating single-use plastic products. Our team is always looking for motivated volunteers—helping hands to work on the following: - Sustainable practices among the local population - Plastic-free campaign that organizes bi-weekly beach cleanups - Workshops within the community and local schools - Creative plastic recycling machine Together, we will create a weekly program and distribute the workload among all participants and the guiding team. New ideas are welcome, and experience in a sustainable lifestyle is preferred. As we aim to expand our production of recycled plastic products, we welcome participants with expertise in project management and production, as well as young volunteers who wish to join our team and take action.

Mark your calendars for November 9th to November 23rd, 2024, because we're heading to Costa Rica for a special volunteering project! Together, we're teaming up with local communities to make a real difference. Our main goal is to help a remote indigenous village called Tsinikicha, where people are facing significant challenges due to poverty. We'll be working on building new facilities to support tourism and creating opportunities for the locals to earn more money. During the week, you'll be working around 6-8 hours a day on various tasks like construction and community projects. But don't worry, there's plenty of time to relax and explore on evenings and weekends. You can go on guided hikes in the beautiful Barbilla National Park, hang out with local families, and try fun activities like dancing and crafting. Everyone is welcome to join us on this journey to make a positive impact in Costa Rica, regardless of age or special skills. However, for children aged 12-17 who wish to participate, a parent or guardian must accompany them throughout the program.
