I will forever be chasing the high that was studying abroad!
September 18, 2026by: London Nicol - United StatesStudying abroad in Barcelona through WorldStrides was one of the most meaningful experiences of my college experience. Spending a semester in Spain gave me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, immerse myself in a new culture, and grow both personally and academically. One of my favorite parts of the experience was being able to practice Spanish in everyday situations and learn from the people and culture around me. Living in a different country challenged me to become more independent, adaptable, and open-minded. I gained a greater appreciation for perspectives different from my own and developed a confidence that I know I will carry with me long after returning home. WorldStrides provided an opportunity to experience Barcelona beyond what I could have learned in a classroom. From exploring the city to building relationships and navigating new experiences, every part of the program contributed to my growth. I would highly recommend WorldStrides to anyone considering studying abroad. It is an experience that pushes you to learn, explore, and discover more about yourself while creating memories that last a lifetime. I'm incredibly grateful for my time in Barcelona and the impact it has had on my personal and academic journey.

Best experience ever
September 16, 2026by: Elsa Weiss - United StatesMy experience studying abroad with CEA CAPA in Barcelona was truly amazing. I had high expectations going into the program, and they were completely exceeded. My apartment was in a great neighborhood that felt extremely safe while still giving me an authentic, local experience. It was also close to everything, which made it so easy to walk around and explore the city every day. I also had a great experience with my classes. My professors were extremely understanding and supportive, which made balancing academics with everything else that comes with studying abroad much easier. The CEA CAPA staff was incredibly welcoming and played such a big role in making my experience as great as it was. They offered so many activities, events, and opportunities that helped me meet people, experience Barcelona, and feel comfortable living in a city so far from home. Overall, studying abroad in Barcelona was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful I chose to do it through CEA CAPA. I would absolutely recommend the program to anyone considering studying abroad!
BEST EXPERIENCE with CIS ABROAD in BARCELONA
September 15, 2026by: Anna Hussey - United StatesProgram: Semester in Barcelona - Business & Creative Industries
Leaving to study abroad in Barcelona was my first time ever leaving the country and exploring a new culture. I could not be more grateful for choosing CIS Abroad for such an amazing experience. From the very beginning, the CIS Abroad staff helped me prepare for the experience of a lifetime with genuine care, guidance, and support. That support continued throughout my time abroad. CIS Abroad made me feel safe by providing comprehensive resources for students, including access to therapy, medical care, and additional support whenever we were sick or needed assistance. Barcelona quickly became my second home, and studying abroad was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I grew personally and professionally, and created memories that I will carry with me forever.
Best Four Months of My Life
September 11, 2026by: Brylee Rodgers - United StatesLiving and studying in Barcelona for four months was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The city itself is beautiful and full of live. I love how everywhere is walkable and you can get anywhere using the metro. There's so so much to do whether it's going to the beach, out for tapas, hiking in the surrounding mountains, shopping, or having a night out, Barcelona really is for everyone. CEA CAPA made my experience so smooth from start to finish.

Best four months of my life!
September 10, 2026by: Luke Hardin - United StatesMy time in Barcelona is extremely special to me, and the experiences and friends I made will last a lifetime. I was able to emserse into a new culture which felt so foreign in the beginning but towards the end felt like home. The people in barcelona were extremely friendly and helpful if there were any questions we had as tourists.
Best 4 Months of my Life.
August 21, 2026by: Sam Willie - United StatesMy time in Barcelona was unbelievable and unforgettable. I did a semester at UAB in the spring 2026 semester and had the best experience. I met so many amazing people and went so many amazing places. There was something for everyone in Barcelona, it was the perfect city. And it was a great hub to explore more of Europe. I was able to visit 12 countries and 16 cities in an 18 week program. WorldStrides staff in Barcelona were so amazing, they were so helpful and friendly. The living accommodations that they set up for us were perfect as well. I was living very comfortably and all the friends I made in the program agreed that they loved their setups. The WorldStrides excursions were amazing as well, they were so fun and I met even more friends. Truly could not recommend it enough to anyone looking to go abroad.
Changed my life forever!
August 13, 2026by: Colleen O'Meara - United StatesI studied abroad with Worldstrides in Barcelona during the spring semester of 2026, and it was genuinely life-changing! I was able to connect with professors at my university and my peers and create lifelong friendships. It was easy to make meaningful connections because the academic curriculum revolves around group work. I was able to work with students from all around the world and grow my international interpersonal skills. I can not recommend going with WorldStrides enough! They eased any potential worries I had before and during my time abroad. The team is there to help you and make your experience incredible!

Barcelona SAE + Estudios Hispánicos was amazing!
April 30, 2026by: Maeve Lovell - United StatesI had a wonderful experience with Barcelona SAE! They have been a huge help in every step of my study abroad experience, from coordinating my housing, providing an academic mentor to turn to with any questions, their curated website full of resources and recommendations, and hosting various social events throughout the semester to connect with fellow students. They made my transition to and time in Barcelona so much easier. I also can’t recommend the UB track enough. I felt like it was the perfect balance between rigorous language instruction and accommodation for non-native speakers, and all the professors were so enthusiastic and responsive to any questions or confusion. I can confidently say that my Spanish skills grew this semester largely due to my classes at UB, so if you’re looking for a great opportunity to improve your language skills, I would highly recommend!
Exceeded my expectations!
April 26, 2026by: Ilana Mac Lennan - United StatesThis program truly exceeded my expectations. From the program staff to the professors themselves, everyone is so excited about assisting us students and making our experience so special. My housing was amazing and other students felt the same, especially with the apartments and home stays.
Fantastic program for cultural immersion
April 26, 2026by: Akira Li - ChinaThis program is for students who want to strike a balance between cultural immersion and familiarity. The program is very well organized with cultural activities and excursions every week to help students explore Barcelona and its surrounding areas with fellow students from the US. I especially enjoyed the “dinner with a local host family” event where I got to dine with a local family and learned more about Barcelona from the local perspective. Besides organizing these events, the program also sends out a weekly newsletter about what’s happening in Barcelona so students can explore on their own. The staff members are all very friendly and helpful; extremely responsive with any needs.
Hat für mich gut funktioniert
April 03, 2026by: Lukas Weber - GermanyProgram: STUDY & TRAVEL PROGRAM in BARCELONA
Man trifft schnell Leute, wenn man will. Gute Mischung aus Struktur und Freiheit.
Didn’t expect to like it this much tbh
April 02, 2026by: Maya Thompson - United StatesProgram: STUDY & TRAVEL PROGRAM in BARCELONA
I originally came just to improve my Spanish for a few weeks, nothing too deep. But it ended up being way better than I thought. Having everything in one place (classes + my own studio) made things super easy, especially since it was my first time staying abroad alone. The room was honestly really comfortable — I liked having my own kitchen and space to just chill when I didn’t feel like being social. But at the same time, it wasn’t hard to meet people either. You kind of naturally start talking to others after class or around the building. Classes were more focused on speaking than I expected, which helped a lot. I was kinda shy at first but you get used to it fast cause everyone is in the same situation. Not everything was perfect ofc, sometimes I felt tired or didn’t join activities, but that’s also why I liked it — no pressure. You do your own thing but still feel part of something. Overall it just felt… balanced? idk how to explain it better but yeah, I’d def recomend it if you want something structured but still chill.

The one where I met my best friends
March 18, 2026by: Adalia Yeung - United StatesThere are not enough works to express how amazing this experience was for me because I ended up meeting my best friends during my last semester of college. We all signed up for different programs through AIFS, but since we lived in the same building, we were able to bond and dive deeper into the beauties of Barcelona together. We were able to travel to different countries and do fun excursions through AIFS like visit a winery, go hiking in Montserrat, take a cooking class and visit the city's landmarks. While we had to adapt to the cultural differences, living with other AIFS students and spending time with everyone in the program was truly a home away from home. These people were my foundation. We were able to be vulnerable with one another and discover not just a whole new culture together but learn things about ourselves that we never realized before. I will always remember when my friends and I wrote letters to one another to read on the flight home from Barcelona and I do not think I will ever cry as hard as I did than when I read those letters. We have gone from being just steps away from each other in our student residence to being separated by thousands of miles. Barcelona will always be our special place, and I am so thankful to AIFS for introducing me to my best friends.

Long term bucket list achieved
February 16, 2026by: Katrina Findley - United StatesI had wanted to study abroad since high school, and SAI made that happen. It was as fun as I imagined, and I would do it again in a heartbeat if my degree allowed. I love to travel, and immersing myself in the city culture was the best thing I have done. I loved the Viva Experiences that SAI had as well, allowing me to take many day trips, as well as take pottery and dance classes, among other things. I loved the on-site staff as well, getting to know them through various excursions. One ran the program's soccer team in the study abroad league, which I got out of my comfort zone and joined. If you told me I would go and play soccer abroad beforehand, I would have laughed, but looking back I am so glad I took the leap and did so. I may not have been great, but I made friends and had a lot of fun.
Amazing Experience In Paris
January 29, 2026by: Audrey Colen - United StatesWhen I decided I wanted to go abroad, I was nervous about a lot of things. First off, I was scared that when I went abroad I would have to settle for a location I did not want to be in because I needed my credits to transfer over. Luckily AIFS had a program in a wonderful city with a bunch of classes that would transfer back to my home university super well. When I chose this program, I was overjoyed but nervous about living in a homestay. When I got there I was happily surprised to find that my host family was amazing and provided me with an experience I would not have been able to have if I had been in a dorm/apt. The people that I met in the program were some of the coolest people I have ever known and am happy to call them my friends to this day. If you are looking for a great program in Paris where you have the freedom to meet new people, travel, and find yourself in a new place, I would 100% recommend this to you!
Love SAI and Love Barcelona!
January 28, 2026by: Paris Holmes - United StatesMy time with SAI was amazing. The entire team was extremely caring and responsive to any issue that we had abroad. Everyone was knowledgable and had many resources as to how to be successful abroad. The only thing I will say is that the housing situations were hit or miss location and size wise. It would have been nice to have more information on housing options and assignments. Other than that, great program with different options for volunteering, host families, and events!
A beautiful growing experience
January 13, 2026by: Eva Chakalis - United StatesMy experience with IES Barcelona was life-changing. I lived in a Residence Hall in Sant Marti, where my commute to class was 30 minutes every day by train. The public transportation in Barcelona is affordable, clean, safe, and easy to use, so navigating the public transportation was one of my highlights. The school location was in the city center with incredible views just down the street. I enjoyed studying by the Cathedral of Barcelona, which was only a six-minute walk from our classes! The courses were not too difficult but highly interesting. I took an Art History course where I had the opportunity to learn about the history of Art Nouveau pieces around the city of Barcelona. I also had the opportunity to take a History of Contemporary Spain class, where I was able to broaden my horizons in the Political Science field and compare US history and government to the history and government of Spain. In between work weeks, I was also able to travel. The Barcelona airport is a hub for international travel, so I was able to take exciting trips to several new locations. Overall, this program was the perfect study abroad experience where I became more independent and learned so much about the world.
A Life Changing Experience in Barcelona
January 03, 2026by: Andrea Guzman - United StatesThis study abroad program truly transformed my life. I fell in love with Barcelona almost immediately, and over time, the city became a place where I learned, grew, and discovered more about myself. By the end of the program, I realized I had become a more confident, independent, and open-minded person than when I first arrived. The experiences I had, both inside and outside the classroom, shaped the way I see the world and my future. I made unforgettable memories, built meaningful connections, and gained perspectives that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am incredibly grateful to this program for allowing me to experience Barcelona in such a meaningful way.
I absolutely loved it (I wish I could go back)
December 29, 2025by: Eliza Shields - United StatesStudying abroad in Barcelona was genuinely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. From the start, BSAE made the semester unforgettable through incredible student activities like cooking, pottery, and flamenco classes and beautiful day trips to Montserrat, Girona, and more. Many of these experiences are now some of my favorite memories from abroad. SIS offered classes with a variety of topics that were especially interesting because of the field studies woven into the coursework. Being able to connect what we were learning directly to the city and its culture made everything feel more meaningful and engaging. I also made some of my best friends from my home university and from around the world through this program, and I’m incredibly grateful for the community and connections it gave me. Overall, the combination of academics, travel, and daily life in Barcelona made the semester both exciting and deeply impactful, and it’s an experience I would recommend to anyone considering studying abroad.
