Barcelona Study & Travel: Spanish Classes + Private Studio

Learning Spanish was part of building a life in Barcelona. Finding people I would want to keep in that life became the most meaningful part of my experience at Blau. I moved into a private studio there in July 2026. Spanish had always been a challenge for me, so having the opportunity to take classes mattered. It was a chance to work on a difficulty I had carried for a long time, to keep learning rather than let that difficulty decide how far I could go with the language. But when I think about what Blau has meant to me, I think about people before I think about lessons. As a new immigrant, meeting people and building connections can be difficult. Moving gives you a new place to live, but it doesn't automatically give you people to share that life with. That part has to be built. At Blau, I had the opportunity to meet people from many different places. What made that experience valuable wasn't simply the variety of backgrounds. It was the connections themselves: people who became meaningful to me, and bonds I know I'll carry for life. The Spanish classes gave me an opportunity to grow in a language that had always challenged me. The people gave me something equally important: connections that reach beyond the place where we met. Years from now, when I look back on this chapter in Barcelona, I know those people will be part of the story. For me, that is what makes Blau worth remembering.

バルセロナでスペイン語を勉強してみたくて、今回初めて短期留学しました！最初はちょっと緊張してたけど、先生たちがすごく優しくて、授業もアットホームな雰囲気だったので楽しく通えました☺️ いろんな国から来ている人たちと交流できたのもよかったです！英語もスペイン語も完璧じゃないけど、みんなフレンドリーで自然と話す機会が増えました。 あと、個人的に一番よかったのは宿泊施設！お部屋も綺麗だし、キッチンも付いていて、屋上にはプールまであります。学校と同じ建物なので移動も楽だし、授業が終わったら街を散策したりカフェに行ったり、毎日充実してました♡ 普通の語学留学とはちょっと違って、バルセロナで実際に暮らしているような感覚を楽しめたのがよかったです。また行きたいなと思える場所でした！

I had such a good experience at Blau Language Academy. Sara made the classes feel very welcoming from day one, and Xavi always brought great energy to the lessons. The small groups really helped me feel comfortable speaking Spanish.

Bin aus Berlin gekommen, um rauszukommen und trotzdem weiterzuarbeiten. Bei Blau funktioniert das gut: Unterricht, Unterkunft und Alltag sind an einem Ort. Viel Sprechen im Kurs und auch bei Aktivitäten bleibt man automatisch im Spanischen. Man trifft schnell Leute, wenn man will. Gute Mischung aus Struktur und Freiheit.

I originally came just to improve my Spanish for a few weeks, nothing too deep. But it ended up being way better than I thought. Having everything in one place (classes + my own studio) made things super easy, especially since it was my first time staying abroad alone. The room was honestly really comfortable — I liked having my own kitchen and space to just chill when I didn’t feel like being social. But at the same time, it wasn’t hard to meet people either. You kind of naturally start talking to others after class or around the building. Classes were more focused on speaking than I expected, which helped a lot. I was kinda shy at first but you get used to it fast cause everyone is in the same situation. Not everything was perfect ofc, sometimes I felt tired or didn’t join activities, but that’s also why I liked it — no pressure. You do your own thing but still feel part of something. Overall it just felt… balanced? idk how to explain it better but yeah, I’d def recomend it if you want something structured but still chill.

I had the best time at Blau! The facilities are super nice and brand new. The teacher Julene was amazing and the classes were so small so I felt like I got a lot of personalized attention. It was nice having everything included and in one place.
