Best decision ever
May 17, 2026by: Chloe Woodruff - United StatesI recommend everyone study abroad! AIFS made the process seamless and easy. The experiences I had here exceeded my highest hopes. Greece was the perfect place for me and had many supports there. I’ll spend forever reminiscing on this incredible experience!
10/10 Recommend
March 23, 2026by: Gwendolyn Jose Day - United StatesThis program was the only study abroad that was able to offer me the courses I needed to stay on track. Since ACG is an entire university, there is a full course, meal plan, beautiful campus, a large amount of students there who are not study abroad students but Greek locals, giving a true immersion experience. The quality of education at the school was challenging and impressive. It is so cool to learn about history and foundational concepts in the classroom and go visit them in a museum the next day. AIFS treated us so well from taking us out to delicious dinners, to amazing educational excursions. The staff at AIFS, Alice, was such a joy and pleasure and made sure to make herself available for any of our needs.

Amazing Experience In Paris
January 29, 2026by: Audrey Colen - United StatesWhen I decided I wanted to go abroad, I was nervous about a lot of things. First off, I was scared that when I went abroad I would have to settle for a location I did not want to be in because I needed my credits to transfer over. Luckily AIFS had a program in a wonderful city with a bunch of classes that would transfer back to my home university super well. When I chose this program, I was overjoyed but nervous about living in a homestay. When I got there I was happily surprised to find that my host family was amazing and provided me with an experience I would not have been able to have if I had been in a dorm/apt. The people that I met in the program were some of the coolest people I have ever known and am happy to call them my friends to this day. If you are looking for a great program in Paris where you have the freedom to meet new people, travel, and find yourself in a new place, I would 100% recommend this to you!
The BEST semester!
September 04, 2025by: Ailie Kullhem - United StatesProgram: Semester in Greece - The American College of Greece
During my 4 months abroad in Greece, I was immersed in the culture, traveled the world, met lifelong friends, tried wonderful food, and gained a good education that will help me later on in my career. I was able to gain a global mindset, which helped me grow so much personally and will follow me throughout my future career. I genuinely had the best time abroad and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Best decision of my life!
January 21, 2025by: Caroline MehnerProgram: Semester in Greece - The American College of Greece
I studied abroad with CIS in Athens, Greece in the Fall of 2024 for a semester. The opportunities I was met with were life changing and I am so grateful for all of the people who made my trip a possibility. Meeting new people was easy because of the residential dorms as well as the welcome dinner that gave us all the opportunity to mingle with each other and meet like-minded others. I was unsure of what to expect from Greece, since I had only really seen movie depictions of it in my past. Some of my favorite experiences from the trip were the CIS excursions, especially the one traveling to see the Meteora of Kalabaka and Kastraki which is not something that would have been on my radar without the influence of CIS. Of course I had to see some of the most notable places like the Parthenon, Acropolis, and the Oracle of Delphi, but my favorite places to travel to during the trip were the islands that were only a short of Kea, Hydra, Agistri, and Aegina that were only a short ferry ride from the port in Athens. There are endless possibilities for adventures in this program and I would recommend anyone who wants to have an incredible adventure to take action and get involved with CIS!
The RAS
December 22, 2024by: Angelina Rodriguez - United StatesAlexa and Adria were amazing all semester they were the best RAs. Although it was a little annoying not having any curtains upon arriving I had no shower curtain no toilet paper and no curtain on my balcony so I had to go out and buy all of that after a extremely long travel day
The Best Time of My Life
December 13, 2024by: Emma RoffProgram: Study in Greece with HISA
During my time abroad, I was able to fully immerse myself in the culture of Greece and see many different islands with the help of Academic Programs International (API) and Hellenic American University. My program through API made the process enjoyable and easy to navigate. With excursions in the program, traveling was made easy. In addition, the program lead showed students around the city and even some favorite local spots. She became a mentor to me while abroad and made Greece feel like a home away from home. Overall, my experience with API and Hellenic American University was nothing short of amazing and I would go again in a heartbeat!
Spring Semester in Granada, Spain!
October 11, 2024by: Lauren Dahl - United StatesMy semester abroad in Granada, Spain was absolutely unforgettable. I decided to stay with a host family and I lived in their home with another student in the same program. Living with a roommate, we became really close friends. My host family was so kind and welcoming, they included us in everything they did. I learned so much Spanish culture and tradition from spending time with the family. The school was called Center of Modern Languages and I had a mixture of Spanish and Business classes. I loved speaking Spanish in class and getting to know other students. AIFS provided a level placement test at the beginning of the semester so that everyone found courses that were appropriate for their knowledge of Spanish. The classes were very fun and I enjoyed going to class. The AIFS program excursions were some of the best experiences/trips that I went on. I was blown away by the Morocco trip as well as the Seville/Córdoba/Gibraltar weekend. The trips were well planned, affordable, and allowed for free time to explore with friends. I made so many connections with locals, got to experience once in a lifetime activities like riding camels next to the ocean, and tried amazing foods. The program application process was hassle-free and the program advisors in Granada are so helpful. I would often visit their office and just chat with them or ask their advice on where to visit on the weekend. They organized cooking classes, art classes, sporting events, and cultural activities like a flamenco show. Granada is such a wonderful city. It is very walkable and the people are very friendly. There are endless tapas bars in the city where you get free food with each drink purchase. I made friends with lots of locals and other students from across the US. I attended exchange club meetings where you get drinks and tapas, and you chat in whatever language you are trying to learn with people from around the world. AIFS did a wonderful job providing opportunities for all of the students in the program to get to know each other. I made a close-knit group of friends and we spent so much time together. I am so thankful for having met them thanks to AIFS. We even visited each other once we arrived back in the US! I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to experience Spain on a more personal scale compared to bigger cities. I think Granada is the most beautiful city, and the Alhambra is a must-see!

Best Summer Ever!
December 27, 2023by: Phoenyx Knuth - United StatesI spent 5 weeks in Athens, Greece with AIFS and it was one of the best experiences of my life. They took care of finding me housing and scheduling my flight. With these stressors being removed I was able to focus on having fun. When I got to Athens, I was greeted along with other AIFS travelers and they took us to campus. No hassle trying to find a taxi, rather I got to start socializing with other students. I created memories and friends that will last me a lifetime!

Greece is great!!
December 25, 2023by: Stella C - United StatesI loved spending a semester in Greece! The onsite person, Alice, is wonderful! She is very kind and helpful if you find yourself in any tricky situations! I really enjoyed my classes and found them all to not be too challenging or too easy. All of the school/AIFS arranged excursions were pretty well planned out and there was a wide variety of sites/experiences! I didn't have to go to the doctor at all but from others experience's, it was very easy and simple. Getting around was pretty easy too, we would walk to the metro and then stay on one line to get to downtown Athens, there are also buses to and from the airport and around town that are easy to figure out. The only bad thing was the apartment, there are six different buildings that you can live in and the one I was put in were suites where 12 girls all shared a kitchen/living space which was very small for the number of people. The rooms were also pretty small too when you had to share. And we had to pay for our own laundry which was 3 euros to wash and 2 euros for twenty minutes in the dryer. I met my closest friends from being roommates but 12 people is just a lot to all live together. Overall, it was a great experience that I'm so glad I participated in!
My favorite semester of College
December 23, 2023by: Parker Freeman - United StatesLiving with seven other girls in one apartment was a scary thought but honestly the best situation. Did a great job matching up compatible roommates. We were given such great opportunities to travel on weekends (with the program around Greece and to other countries on our own). The professors wanted us to learn but also wanted us to have enough time to travel and experience Greece. I loved the opportunities to meet other students (both Greek and American) and living so close to the school. Everyone in Agia Paraskevi was so welcoming and kind. Overall, definitely my favorite college semester.
Berlin in the 2023 fall semester
December 21, 2023by: Eleanor Rauschenberg - United StatesBerlin is a really wonderful and historic city to live in. My German is basically nonexistent and I still felt like I was able to get around fine. The AIFs staff are very supportive, and the organized actives were well structured and thought out. If you weren’t interested in some or all of the activities, you didn’t have to participate and there was plenty of time to do your own thing around Berlin or travel throughout Europe. I didn’t particularly enjoy my academic experience at Humboldt, there were a few good classes but also a few really awful ones. So, if I could do it again I would probably do the AIFS program with Freie Universität academic program.
A Life Changing Semester!
December 18, 2023by: Rachelle Martz - United StatesMy semester abroad was an experience that I will never forget, and includes some of my most prized memories. Not only did I gain the best of friends, but I gained a new outlook on life and learned so much about myself when abroad. I arrived on my birthday, and I can say with full confidence that this was the best gift that could ever be given. I was able to travel all over Europe and Africa, see family while abroad, experience once-in-a-lifetime moments, live independently, and experience a new culture. My program was also one that provided me with wonderful information, trips, services, advisors, and insurance. Never once was I worried about my safety, health, or resources abroad. Overall, I think about my abroad trip every day, and feel so blessed that I had the opportunity to experience a semester like the one I had.

Best 4 months ever!
December 16, 2023by: Mei Totten - United StatesMy education abroad experience not only deepened my academic expertise, but also fostered personal growth, resilience, and adaptability. It taught me to navigate unfamiliar situations with confidence, communicate effectively across language barriers, and embrace the beauty of intercultural exchange. I met so many life long friends with who I keep in touch with frequently.
This was an unforgettable experience!
December 16, 2023by: Nicole Pomerleau - United StatesI am so glad I decided to study abroad. I met so many amazing people that I would not have met any other way. I mad so many friends for life. I was nervous about traveling alone, but AIFS provided a support system that was able to help me every step of the way.
The place I learned who I was
December 16, 2023by: Abigail Sullivan - United StatesI owe it to studying abroad to really having the ability to explore and find myself. Abroad changed my life in so many aspects. I learned how to exist on my own in a foreign country where I knew no one or the area. I grew as an individual and became a lot more confident in myself. Going abroad was the best experience of my life. Never again do I think I will get an experience like that again. To travel the world, with people doing exactly the same thing as me. Just trying to exist and make do. I felt so at home and comforted by the people and environment surrounding me and I truly do not think it would have gone as well if AIFS was not as amazing and accommodating as it really is. AIFS really strived to make this the best experience for everyone and boy did they. AIFS never let me down. Study abroad with AIFS and have the chance to add amazing memories and adventures to your life!

Amazing Experience!!
December 15, 2023by: Anabelle Blanchet - United StatesGoing to Athens with AIFS Abroad is one of the best decisions I have ever made! I met some amazing people I’ll remember for the rest of my life and always felt so welcomed by the locals. AIFS helped me to feel prepared and this experience has given me such a wide variety of skills as well as confidence in my ability to navigate the world. Traveling has become something I am incredibly passionate about and I will always be thankful to AIFS for making it happen.

NOCCCD Study Abroad in Rome
December 14, 2023by: Ed Giardina - United StatesMy colleague and I have had the pleasure of accompanying 21 amazing humans on a 3 month journey that will most certainly change them for the rest of their lives. Thank you to AIFS for sharing Rome with us and attending to every detail that made this an experience that will live with us eternally. The AIFS Rome center staff were excellent in providing impactful excursions, extra-curricular courses, and ensuring that all of us were well informed and provided for in every part of our journey.

Pros and cons
August 04, 2023by: Molly WilkinsonI had a lovely time here, although it was not without flaws. The amenities were not great especially considering how much we paid to be here. The company guilt tripped and body shamed us. But I made innumerable new friends and had experiences that I will cherish forever.
Study abroad!
August 04, 2023by: NancyVery nice experience, learned a lot. People I’ve met here are now friends I will still be in contact with. The internship was where I learned new skills and networked with people within the fashion industry and got inspired by being here abroad
